I'm going to get Margaret for our leave. Then we have Jay to say. All right. What was there anything that you could have done to help you? You can go on to the consent agenda. No, we don't even. It's up-regidating. Or worse, probably you first try to get time with the senior agenda. So if you want to move to a really, that's my final sentence. Yeah, we'll talk about the full of guidance. So the senior agenda will make you think. Second, give us a second to the I am one and two. So, Mark, I am Bradley. Cindy, hi, Jane, Hi, I'm Cindy, I'm a student, two months, I create something that I want, I want to finally develop our economy. The bilingual dictionaries are those physical books, or at least that something that's physical. Physical books. Physical books. books or it means that something is called the physical book. And then if you could go up this goal over the subscription really knows the CaliPa and then the state and the main goal language is the can you give us a little description of what those are? So the CaliPa and the state it used in our literacy department to obviously help with notation, the reading words. Was that any dry hand play with it myself? So I don't know all of the intricacies of them, but it used in terms of all these people in the literacy department too. So we're only that program. How does that access to that? So it's good to take that. Yeah, so any of the things we have, anybody actually in the library in the program has to, even those came by for the breaks. No, I just wanted to. Yeah, no, no, so we're just trying to. Better description of what those 13 services are. And then the main goal is, is a learning system, like, where's that a step where, you know, they Spanish English varies of the language of the foreign school. Yeah, I use it. It's an app. Yeah, it's an app. Oh, that's good. And the library's description, so you can be on the side. That's it. They have one of them in the middle of the talk. That's cool. And so this is what the same grant. The same grant. There's both the, I believe both the annual letters in grant. We'll be able to see. When we come to the state also on the description just as it turns. We'll be able to talk about. So it turns a real thing to the fact that we're doing. You know, it's just a plot that requires five of paper notebooks and, you know, traditional, traditional things like that. I don't know if it's going to be fun, just chatting. I think we'll have everything else. No, no, it's not like, if you'd like a more detailed description, we can, but yeah, and you would majority of stable supplies are going to be off. That's all I assume. Yeah. The other thing is never there. You know, the other one says, not finally, materials for itself. I mean, this is, this is, you know, just have to has something else. Anyway, I assume there is an opportunity to go. I was wondering if anyone else had a nation. No. I moved that way through the war. Second. Second. Second. So, I hope to know how to write this. This should be joined our one book. Thanks to our member over here. One book once in a year ago. I did not come and option to get the child's book. Because they ran out, but I brought this is the adult title. And then this is our teen title. Well, I will be picking up copies of this one and this one. A couple of the children. They will look at them an English and Spanish. And tell them to give out to our community, which is very exciting. So a little about one book. One book's been going on for several years. This is our first time joining. We feel I think we're very lucky to be part of the program. I was very excited to be part of the committee in choosing this year instead of the Festival of Books, which is what they traditionally do their one book at. They had their own program called Booked for the Weekend, and they might know their community partners. We all had tables at the Central Library where we gave out, you know, material about our branches, talked about our community, and then they were able to walk around and find out new things they didn't know. And we had several people from National City who were very excited to see us there this year. One of them is a teacher of the full care national day. So it was very, it was a great opportunity and we were able to see the actual announcement. And one of the authors was there, the children, who was just a local city again. She was there as well. So that was a great opportunity for us. We will be doing programming supporting the one-room kind of those. So look out for that coming soon, but also KPBS is a lot of time programming as well. We completed our library program our first year. We served 500 meals, children's early 18, and our funds from the California State Library hope to provide us with our senior reading program. In original formers, five, all of that kind of stuff. It was really a really great opportunity for us to be into this new program. We hope it goes across the little continued next year itself. Interviews and improvements and also the last time we're here we have Builder Academic Management Program Coordinator. He's named Shane droughts and Shane started with us on August 20th. He's been there just over two weeks. We haven't run away yet, so we're very excited. He's still there. We have also intervened for our technical services librarian position and we have made an offer to the candidate and he has decided to accept. And so we're hoping he will be starting mid September but we will keep you guys updated. And then our city librarian positions or basically we're in interviews have been scheduled for late September. So we will have hopefully by the next meeting and answer for you guys. And then I did convey your request about Tuesday, and to give you resources about having a number of our community panel. And finally, we have our programming. So our summer programming has been set and now we are back to our regularly scheduled after school programs. So we have currently, we have homework on Monday at Wednesday, Tuesdays, we have legos, Wednesdays, we have crafts, Thursdays, we have gamers' world, and Fridays we have seen. We also brought back a cafe night, which has been super successful. People were really happy to see a return. Now we have a good turnout for our first event. Instead of doing it bi-weekly, we're doing it once a month with time being just, you know, capacity and see what we can do and can bring it back to a more fuller offering. We're also going to be hosting Phil and creator, Con on the 10th of October 14th. It's a Filipino film festival and Con. So they're going to be showing movies. They will be having food. They'll have vendors there selling food as well, selling items. They'll have different workshops that you can attend or lectures. So it should be a lot of fun. It's going to be September 14th at the library. And that's kind of all we have right now is kind of those point for us, which I mean, I can't complain about. I can't complain about. But I don't have some question about the, the my creative thought. That's the thing they said behind the, and there is a policy for use of the majority. And kind of the harder policy that said, they cannot be used for the private shows of the fund crisis commercial. There was a show of use of the many selling things. One of the passouts, this is the copy of policy. I think we all need to have a copy of what. Both think we all understand the policy and policy is very normal and on the point of the policy, I think we all understand the policy. But I'm going to say that there should not be't even talk about it. And you're saying you're going to be selling. There will be so it's, they will be, the vendors will be selling items. They have this science and engineering national city so they can go through the corporate channel to with the city crypto, the finance to purchase those items. And our city manager was involved and so you know, I've been on the chain of emails related to it, so they do a longest proper paperwork in, and so they have things to prove. Now, we have done everything like this, where we have it, and we do call it T-repeat, which is like an outside event. It's the same idea of the same sort of policy where they have to get approval, they have to be a national city licensed, built to a business, wrapped out there in the county permits, all of those things are already have to be required in order to receive an membership at the tax. So they have gone to be the property and only in that one. But our policy system should be any commercial services. So I don't see how, then I'm showing you that the advice is, does we have a policy? I mean, a policy says it's number five. Hi, King. And checkpoints are the city. Let's continue to manage to what you don't see in regards to that particular policy and see what they say. We have had other events as the library outside the parking lot where vendors have so food items or other things of that nature. So they're always it's not for the will maybe on freeing you on it, but it's a separate separate actually so we have had a pre-gain scheme so I can definitely check in regards to that. And I will let you guys, I will send it, a response email to all of you that were answered. I received a regards. says that the board of librarians sees a sign of storage in the long hours with 10 to use a library, a very reading room, but she could accomplish for the board that it will take for this room. And it wasn't brought up to us for discussion at all. So I think this was not handled in a way, according to what was typically we't typically bring before the board any programs that we're having in the library. So when we create a new summer reading program, we don't typically come to the board to ask what we're going to do that program. understand that. This is a group that has a show they've got. I'm sure it's just $2 million together. So it's a little different from saying that we're going to have to read over. This is something else that's coming in to use our facility. That's what we have. All of which I think we should fall for not a goal, and she won't. Why? So I just want to make sure to send in the future any program or person you'd like to use our space that is not on the library-specific program for any of the facts. You would like us to bring it to the board for approval prior to us saying yes to that person. Special equivalency. That's our policy. So, yeah, we have a 10. Well, yes, and then it should have been wrong, like, the genius. That's a really good catch. I'm not very happy with you. I'm happy with you. I'm so happy. I mean, it's a policy, then why are we from from from? I know it's friends, the friends, you know, we have some activities we told which is policy, the mechanics were, entries, you know, you don't have to have some relations I think, so to any issue. So, yeah, I think we didn't follow all the smoothness. And I think that it would be good for us to be more aligned with other solvents. So going forward, any person needs to be able to use the space, we will go to the board for the role which might require several board meetings that are special meetings. You know, you know, it's been from last minute a lot of times. Usually this kind of an activity is not last, but I think they got out all the way to the water. I mean, they have to get vendors involved. They have to get their insurance. Right, but I just mean it in future, it's not always where there's a large program like this, but they can come to us among the advanced or two months in advance. Sometimes they, there are requests used to be in rooms that were last minute requests. That's where we needed to. But maybe it was a public meeting. We have to still have to have them have their documentation, their insurance forms. So sometimes it is a last minute robust. So maybe that we would have to call meetings. Okay. Oh, then what's this request? Well, this was a robust that came, I'm assuming, a month or so ago, and then we did lay out this particular group, you know, we need to have your insurance, you need to have the room, you know, so we made them go through the process when they told me they were a vendor that said you need to give this process started with finance and misgidding for office. So we incensed them through the proper channels. We just, and as I've been here here, we've never had to request a use of the room on the board three days. And I'm an ideal, obviously, I don't know, choice will be that prior to believing, but whenever indicated to ask that that's been really needed to do with it right there. Because it's not a library against a library. Okay. That's not exciting. Yeah, I think if you're going to get clear in this, maybe you're going to get clear in here. The city is the church. So the process was that they saw the city of National City like a facility, the demo case center, but the library was seen as more. I believe it would, I'm not exactly sure because I already know they, one of them happens to know a staff member who works at our branch thing. They went to high school together and he even mentioned he'd like to have this on, this on here at the library. And, you know, I started going through this step. You need to do this, You need to do this. You need to do this. It was also requested by, it was also in conjunction with the state council and the council requested to save those while and then asked me what the process was which I did details of her what needed to occur. And then it was, you know, the some communication with the city manager and then we kind of, I met with them, actually met, we walked around, I explained the limitations and the rules, and then they gave sense of all the forms and the items that we needed, like I once clear for us. Yeah, so I think it's really important for us to get a good understanding of this because we may be approached by other people. For example, it says no political. Right, okay. So it says no business, no commercial. You're saying what they want people to write avenues. So if you're saying, well, yeah, no political, what if they go into their avenues. And I think you're doing the same with the policy. You know, because you have any way. So that's why they be truly. I will talk to the city attorney. My. I will talk to you later in the next video. Any comments or questions? I have a question. I don't know what we said. Did you say that it says somewhere else? You can't. No, you can't be a donation. I don't know. I can't read it. It's a fundraiser. For. This fundraiser. No's a such fundraiser. Is that for? It's a such fundraiser. No donation makes it. Oh yeah, I don't even know. No donation makes it. It's a such a big. You know, maybe I'll just mention something else that I mean, this might be something that is dealt with the fact for me, that how I usually through my procuration for our meetings, but you know, before you raise your question and that was policy, which you know, and this starts with what I'm getting at is Sarah. He was the spinder of the media. And ever since you started doing that, I stopped doing it the way I used to prepare was I used to print out the minutes or the bulk package. And I would just collect that. But I had all my notes. And then when to start providing this, I stopped building that. And so there was a problem there because now I don't really have my own notes. And I noticed that Cindy keeps notes. I don't know J, or anyone else takes notes, or are you just doing all the thing there? I wrote my notes here and I fixed this memory, but that's how I used to do it. And I noticed that there was sort of a hole in my preparation because I don't have that. And this was a probate example. This would have been something that I would have kept. No, in the front, there was also something else that James gave us. That was the description of all the subscription, the database. Oh, it's in here. Yeah, excuse me. But the thing is, is that that's only the devil to me. And I come to this meeting, because I don't have this with me at home in front of a little bit of things in my preparation. I'm just throwing this idea into the South, just because, you know, as I said, Cindy has something else that she uses to help her. And I always thought that there was something in this meeting that I should have something up. I just want to bring that up for her and turn that maybe. Yeah, I mean, this was great. I don't want to criticize it was nicely done. But I don't think it's a problem to be an end user for my preparation. Just my team of events, but I remember maybe this is exactly what we're going to do on something a little different for our preparation. I mean, you're welcome to take them home and we just bring you packets. So you can put your packets in office. We do send them a couple days before. So if you want to keep it as your personal binder, then we can just send you the package via email and you can send them out. Take that one. Yeah, I mean, this is my last meeting here. So I'm not just, it was just something that I thought about it before. You know, but it's been a harder day to say so I was going to, you know, that's why I've So you both from creating this work. We got work on it. Yes, we wrote the church, so it said, Joyce, how this, because we went over a lot of policies, and I mean, this was one of the, that we went on, and on, going over, you know, on a picnic, you know, so it's not like this, this was done by accident. It would, like, but then on time on a report. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that. Maybe it's big leaders. I mean, this is how we do our preparation work and it is as simple as it would. That should be thought we should think about how we do better. So we're always prepared for these meetings. I agree. And I just be curious. There's other community centers in the city like an okay, I wonder, I think it would be appropriate to have a kind of uniform policy. So I don't know if they follow something similar in terms of external groups coming in looking to use the space, but I think it would be nice. And just to know like why we designed it this way, and if it still makes sense, too, because I would be, I would have some concern about slowing down the process for people to use the room, especially if the priority takes place for library programs, they would do their programs, but if it's empty space in somebody like the slope over and use it, I would just hate for it to be slowed down. And for instance, there's not a forum for our normal meetings or it's difficult to schedule a special meeting. So regardless of policy, whether it's this policy or future policy, it should be applied the same in every case. So I don't know what's happening in the past. It might be nice to know what's happening in the past. What kind of purchase? I know there's been outside, like the low-rightly, there's been programs outside, but this seems more tailored just to the meeting rooms and conference room and the multi-purpose room. I just be curious, there's been prior times of third-party groups using it. That blur is aligned between commercial or whether they're seeking donations or anything like that. But yeah, I was going to mention that they, isn't there a religious statement set in the, but what is the name of the facility with the bleachers on the part of the park? You don't mean it. I'm not looking at the floor. That's why. Yeah, but don't you're religious thing here. What's the year I think I'm I'm not sure but it is an outside. Building to it might have different roles like. MLK has some more specific people because they charge. They charge. Right. That's what we don't want to use. I don't think I want to be to work. Right. Yes, we want to be in charge of trade. Right. Yeah. So we were the ones with the different policies than the rest of the city could be sort of a professional. You know, I'm not. But this one got five. Well, any program we do set by the House of the Republic, it has to be open to the public and for the public at all times. So they can't have private meetings or private fundraisers in the library. It has to be something that's public that is free for the community to pretend to know. That's typically how we sort of weed through the requests is, you know, because of climate function, are we in charge of you, you know, and that it's no, no, no, we didn't speak to them and okay or another building that I'll just. Perfect. Yeah. That's it. of that spray. Just very, very worried that the vendors that are selling the whole concept of so. Yes. Oh, what they're generally brought for us with me would be, what they've done is policy, which we have with people. So we have to say no, we can't do it, because there's been experience there and past the motion. I will say that it is from her. And then, so we can't say, I mean, otherwise, would we take out a period of quote, or it accepts it, just based on that, it would be not. Not a lot of think that their, their condescending has been a discussion to have the thought on here in Dr. Selby. The great people are to expose them to the artists that they've already been through in the heart of artists, their looks, show them what's available, maybe have some workshop and things, and they all can happen with the library without getting involved with business. What have been appropriate to ask them to have the vendors outside? Well, that's still giving up. I'm sure. If we were to help vendors outside the building, we have just a minute to you peep to the city, which thinks about 90 days. The process also involves staff having to close off the lot. Fire department having to do a fire check. So it's a much larger process than just having them in the facility or in one space. So if we have them outside, it's it, we can, but that process is much much much longer process to get established. We might just want to relook at the policy if it's not working. We can see what's happening and see if it's complied with the policy and if not maybe the policy needs to be changed because it seems like number one very point blank says non-profits for community groups. Those are the ones that could use the meeting rooms when you're not in use by the library. So that kind of seems a several any core project or other kind of entities. And then number three, you just have to submit at least two weeks before the meeting. So again, if we if have to come to us before potentially that could be an issue. But yeah, sounds like a program. I wonder. And then 12, I was just going to say, 12 kind of seems to look, we have an authority over everything. So I take that to the fullest extent of the words to say we could potentially improve. But I think to Margaret's earlier point, it's, I don't know, entities could be approving one and not the other for being a little arbitrary and how we're deciding that or what stand of the requirements. That's how many of the former. I just wonder if behind these some of the rules are for connection to funding for the grant funding because I know that my follow-ups there are some sources that something that restricts from charging for events or charging for events. So yeah, I think maybe we're looking at this in turning why the school is here. It's still a big sense. You also see what other libraries do. I know it's just like an event at Central where they were selling things. But it's in that upstairs. So maybe that's essential. The thing that they're made is that all this. the biggest tackle is over two and so no. So, I think we should do some research into how we are going to do this a little bit. And we have some thirdly in the front of the city journey. And look at it and see if we can get to it. We'll be able to make this a new time out when we met again. We're not going to do that. It should be in the end. It should be in the end. We need more basics. And we need no better. Okay. Maybe not. No, no. Why would we put this on agenda? We hear the right. We're exactly working on it. That will be to a review of the. What's up, the civil. The policies. When the door. Where. Second. Second, second, we'll take some agenda. I review the necessity of the library, so these use folks. Okay. Margaret is probably the lead time day to say. Right. and is scrapping. The lead time day comes to say, right? That's some students. I mean, this does sound really good program. And it might be a program that couldn't have afforded to be anywhere else. So if we can promote those programs and if we just have to maybe adopt more uniform policy, that might be appropriate. But I'm just looking into it now. Okay. I'd rather go on to second library for. There's a going to be a meeting we're going to have open house. First Friday and sender. And then we've been in something that's just been it up. It's needing a little help. This is Saturday. December 6th. The 6th Friday. What are we going to do Friday? Open up. Yeah. One month, what was the seven? I thought it was the Saturday. I think it was two or four of us. I think it was interesting. It was today. It was two or four, but it was going to make it in that family event. One of the just open homes. I really, really suggested the on and Saturdays, the more families in the 10 because it was two or four. Friday afternoon. A lot of kids may still be in school at that time. Okay, so we'll just go through the center of that part of the year. And we're going to now, by the beginning of our first and last year, so we're going to bring you a life to be joining in. We're going to go to Christmas, get to be a new, even put to your dreams, items, bring you onto a gift, anything that's in your positive, that's Christmas issue, make a mess out of it. And that's part of our fundraising for the library. Okay. Thank you, Susan, and further any more member comments. I just want to say that I'm going to be the board that being made the life where we open up more services for our paintings.. So I think it's really, I was thinking a lot of them all, but I don't want to be in a very strong, long-term, long-term, and I think the other thing is, is that we've also made the library well, and you're saying for all the difference. And I think that was a little bit more. And please. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I might as you call me as about the morning. Just. And last thing, everything worked out with that DSL. It did. Every time we worked out with the ESL grant, we learned that it got approved into the council. We were able to send the council to your fantastic fair. Thank you. Thank you guys. I really appreciate it. Just wanted to thank you for your service for joining the library, who really helped us accountable. That's the end of it right here. It's an pleasure pleasure to so belong to him. I get to see what kind of she wants to know. I know you're worth it. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks. Thanks very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. I'm going to go to the next slide. All right, sometime by the Margaret. Yes, probably. Maybe Jake to Sam. All right, thank you guys so much. Appreciate it. You're the ones I love you next month.
