Here's your recap of the Frazier Board of Trustees meeting held on February 5, 2025. The meeting kicked off at 6 p.m. with a roll call, followed by unanimous approval of the agenda and consent agenda, which included the minutes from the January 22 meeting. During the open forum, the town of Winter Park's town manager, along with the lift transit manager, addressed the board regarding transit concerns. They provided updates on a transit stop relocation on old victory road, which is currently under review and moving forward. They also discussed a reported issue of a night lift driver allegedly charging riders, though no video evidence has confirmed this. Officials requested any further details from the public. Finally, they encouraged town leaders to directly communicate any transit concerns moving forward. Steve Fitzgerald provided an update on Frazier Valley Arts' progress. The nonprofit, formed in 2021, has now raised over $3 million, including grants and a matching donation of up to $1 million. The organization is working toward building the Frazier Center for the Creative Arts, which aims to enhance cultural and economic development in the town. Upcoming events include the National Theatre Live Screening of Fleabag and the Annual Fire and Ice Festival. The board approved a resolution to enter into a contract with MW Golden Constructors for ADA improvements and roof renovations to Town Hall. The project, with a budget of up to $350,000, will also include the installation of doors in the bathrooms for after-hour event access. A contract with D2C Architects was approved for the design of a new Public Works facility. This long-term effort aims to relocate operations from old town to a new site while addressing infrastructure improvements, including Paving County Road 72. The contract is not to exceed $350,000 funded in part by a $200,000 grant. The Downtown Development Authority, also known as the DDA, has an open board seat following the resignation of Angela Nichols. The board opted to wait until October 2025 to fill this and two additional upcoming vacancies. In other updates, the town is working on a resolution in support of Mountain Passage Array, which could bring grants for business and infrastructure improvements. A presentation will be made to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, also known as DOLA, in March to request $3 million in funding for St. Louis Landing infrastructure and a new child care facility. Additionally, the Frazier River Valley housing partnership is actively discussing the hiring of a new executive director. The board entered two executive sessions regarding legal matters and joint facilities oversight. No decisions were made following these sessions.
