Somebody was joining virtual to me. Yeah, very bit commonly, but I don't see her yet. Okay. Okay. Well, it's coming into order. How do you can you? The world of sure. The real thing. Yeah. Erring time here. Janice, I'm here.. Yeah. Erin Klein. Yeah. Jenny's channel's on here. Jesse LaBoufette. Yeah. Claire McPray here. And Mr. Robert Leopold and Mr. Steve Morris are absent. Excuse tonight. And we are waiting for Councilmember Mary Beth Connelly. That she will probably. And Amy is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah starting to think. Yeah, yeah, from foundation. Yeah, but she sent me an update a couple of days. So, okay. Okay. So we're good then. And we don't need to guess. So we can introduce them. Sorry. Did we have any petitions? No. Okay. Not that I've ever worked. You did mention, maybe you're going to mention the right blood treatment. Yes, I've got that in my jargon. Okay. All right. Okay. But we're going to formal petitions. Yeah. Did that come up with good? It did. I'll get to that. Sorry. The pride for like. Oh, yeah. But we'll get to that. I should have waited. No worries. You were brought up. Okay, then. Next thing is do you for a little minutes? Did anyone have any correction? Any comments? Can you start? Who's this? I was in here. I trust the line. I thought they were fine, but when I went up and see me. The only thing I would say is on the call to order. It should say this time board share. Call me in the order, not by the start. I miss the two. I miss the first time I met for. Sorry about that. Yeah, got it. And can I get a signal on the window? And can I get a motion to prove minutes and motion? And a second. Great. All in favor? Okay. Okay. And Megan, your library. I feel like now I've got a lot of things last last month was hello, I'm here. And now I know I'm gonna give it a go. All right, you've got your monthly statistical recap that's right here. I'm interested to see that we got a lot more visits this October than last October. I'm not sure why that is, but it's great to see. I'm going to look into that a little bit more as well. And then circulation is also increasing and then digital copies increasing as well. Any questions on those statistics? Oh, I'm like whether a phase or roll, but I mean it's been not raining at all. Yes, so I'm starting to walk here. Yeah. About more when it's. Yeah. Great. That's a point. And then after each of my sections, I'll ask if you have any questions because now I've got a first of got holiday closures, holidays and closures. So we're closed November 20th and 29th for Thanksgiving. The library is going to close at 3pm on December 19th for staff celebration heads up for that are for our staff holiday party. Permission. I don't think that I need permission from the board. It's OK. No, no, I'm sorry. My understanding is that we don't need permission from the board to do early closing, but I do let you know. No, that's fine. I checked that with Jenny. We're closed December 24th and 25th for the Christmas holiday and then we're closing at 5 p.m. on December 31st to close January 1st. So all those are planned except the planned farm bands except the OS staff celebration which is just an early closure out of Thursday. Any questions? Okay, just check. Okay, moving on to staffing, I've got two retirements that are coming up. I know. Catherine Wilson and Lori Collin are retiring. Lori's last day is coming up very quickly. It's going to be the separate third and Catherine's last day is January 3rd. They have done a wonderful work through the library and we are so thankful that we had them. I've enjoyed working with them for a month. And both of them are retiring for positive or. Laurie is not eligible for retirement. Catherine is, but they're leaving for positive reasons for traveling and then also spending time with grandchildren. So that's great. And I am connecting exit interviews and also exit interviews from the city. So with those two positions to fill, I'm taking time to see if there's opportunities for us regarding these two positions. These positions are 20 hour positions. And I'm working closely with Marshal on that. We've talked about that there is an increase in programming in our new building and we've identified the need for a librarian who does data tasks, but thinks strategically about programming and outreach. So I'm hoping that I'm able to use 43 hours in some kind of combination to advertise for a library and that thinks strategically and is able to do some long range planning for what our programming and outreach will look like for the library. So that's coming down the pike and I'll keep you updated on that. I still have even more staffing updates, which is two new pages, Trade Katie Trichler and Kathleen Mormon are two new pages for us. And then finally, I'm just to let you know that I've been doing one-on-one meetings with all library staff to better understand the culture of the library and how best to support this really great staff. And every time I get to do one, it's best part of my day. So I made it all the way through technical services and I'm almost actually the I am no many services. I made it all the way through new services so I still have to do the departments as well. I mean here in any kind of like trying shriened intents of what you both say. I am a little bit, yeah. So, um, the library, everyone loves working with the library. Um, everyone has cited how much they really enjoy their managers. So I'm really happy to have a strong management team here. Um, people are interested in finding opportunities to grow in their positions, um, because it sounds like generally people do not want to read this library and they're willing to stay here but they're looking for growth opportunities which might look like something like advancement in their position, right? Because right now we don't have and the way that most libraries are structured, there's not really a lot of room to grow in your position. So, interested in that, gonna be looking into it, I know that it's something that the former director also was interested as well. So, that's definitely the trend. And then, that generally, this is a very positive place to work. And the city has gone through some culture changes, but it sounds like the library was, those culture changes were a lot less needed here. It's still nice to see, but less of an issue here generally. So it feels really lucky to be here. Can you go ahead and get that? Because I remember when Jenny, while around that tunnel, she was being selected. That primarily she was selected because things were running so well here. Yes, and then but staff was doing so much, you know, so much double triple duty. So, you know, if you get burned out so it's a good thing that they're still. Yes, generally people really enjoy working here. They think it's a really positive culture. I haven't heard a lot about burnout. I think it really helps that our weekend schedule is a little bit longer because when you have to work a weekend, you're on desk most of the time, which means that that detracts you, once you're able to do during the week and having staff that specifically work on weekends and that's kind of their role is really helpful. And so the people who work for a week ends on a rotation don't do it as often, which means that they can get more work done. Is what it really seems like. So that's fantastic. And then also having it be an emotionally and mentally safe and well workplace. Helps for that as well. But they've been really great. And then just a question it get when I'm sort of tying the two of the things you just you said one we have the. The probably a 40 hour position opening. And we have people who want to move up. Will the will staff be eligible to apply to the job number one? Yes. And our staff is, which is great. I kind of thought you'd say that. And it's staff. People express an interest not just in growing in their shop, but in and taking on other opportunities in the library. So somebody's an adult services and there's a position in these services that would be interesting. I don't know how much cross-colonation is, but that would be a growth opportunity. So typically what they were kind of talking about was people enter as a, we only have library in one positions. Really, we don't have library in two or like three. So the position does not reflect growth or or acknowledging somebody's institutional something that I have a program that I'm aware of in any of the libraries that I've worked with before, that means that I think it's a fantastic idea if it could be eventually done. So I've had several people cite that they would be interested in a step kind of program like that to acknowledge that, you know, they, and when you've been here longer, you generally take on more responsibilities. Any other questions on staffing? Great. So for city news, the Falls Church City Council invites staff and board members to a welcoming reception for the new city council member, Laura Downs. Other section will be held at City Hall on Monday, November 25th at 6.30 and I'm going to forward you all an invitation that I got today for that. Just so you know, if you are interested in attending. Okay, collections, now we're getting into collections. So folios are bigger books. We have incorporated those into our the collection. So folios are bigger books. We have incorporated those into our regular collection. We were finding that it was confusing to people to have them in their own separate section. And with the added space from folios, we are now shipped, we were able to move audiobooks into where the folios were, and we're able to create more room for DVDs, which we're still seeing are having to use to unlike audiobooks into where the folios were and we're able to create more room for DVDs which we're still seeing are having to use to highlight audiobooks. And then with that move reference is going to move into the magazine room and then our book club kits which are over by the whole section are going to move over there which will give them better space, because that's a resource that people love, and they'll be able to know about it. And then we're going to be moving the Spanish collection into the new book area, and we're finding that if you are, if English is not your first language, or if you don't speak very much English, that collection might be hard to find and putting it in the front will make it more prominent. Also thinking about a lot of our caregivers, our Spanish speakers and they'll be able to see it as they head downstairs. So we're working on that also goes under our equity discussion as well. Any questions about those collections? That makes sense for everything. We're switching it up a little bit. The main screen should just say where the main screen is. So the main screen's against your right there. Okay. So actually, it's already happened. I'm looking up this window right here. And reference is now right here in the main screen room. And then it's going to be a puzzle. And then on the other side will be the book sale. That's what we've. So nothing nothing's moving too far, but just moving stuff around a little bit so that we can get a better. Better real estate or the art Spanish collection. Great. Okay, upcoming programs. I'm wearing my 125th anniversary shirt because Claudia changed because you're so classy. But our 125th anniversary is coming to a close. So we're going to have a close out kind of week. We took some promotional pictures this morning, which is why I'm in my shirt. And on Saturday, December 7th, I'm going to be doing a story time. And then because I was a youth service librarian, so I can do story time. And then story time will be a good to know Megan story time, very indulgent, but then we'll get to know a little bit. And afterwards we'll have Donuts with the director, which anybody can cop to. And then I'll hang out at the book sale a little bit because the book sale is that weekend. And then that afternoon we'll have a jazz concert. So that'll be the kickoff to our week of 125th, the end of our 125th celebration. So that week will also have special thank you signs around, thanking people for their support for 125 years, been using thank you stuff on the steps, which will be very cute. We're going to have a scavenger hunt in the library. And we have 125 anniversary bookmarks that we're going to be giving away. So that'll be a nice ending to the year along celebration that I got to come to the tail end though. Is that the first week of December? I believe it is. Yeah. So the first, no, second, because it's the December 7 through 15 with a kickoff on December 7, which is the second week of December. Great. So our code drive just ended, which benefits the people of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, who are O'Gala, Lakota nation people, that we've done for several years, our Toys for Tots, continuing through December 5th. A really cool program that I wanted to highlight was we have Lego Robotics December 1st, and that's going to be a continuing program. And those are Lego Robotics lessons that are led by the local high schools robotics team. And that's going to be for kids in grades three to five. So I'm not really any part of that. I just didn't come really. Yeah. I loved it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's a huge Lego and science kids. I know. And like younger kids love big kids. Yeah. Right. Yeah. It's also a really great intergeneration. Yeah, and then we're about to team robotics team kids. They're great They're so like kind and like wanting to get the kids engaged. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, I love that. Thank you. Thanks for that. I first had a counter So that's continuing December 2nd there's gingerbread house making for teens December 4th. There's cozy cookie decorating for kids December 4th is also an improv workshop for teens, December 4th, there's Kozy Kuku decorating for kids, December 4th is also an improv workshop for teens and adults. December 11th, we're going to have a presentation from the National Museum of American Diplomacy's historian, Dr. Ellison Mann, who is going to speak on the Foreign Service Act of 1924, which is commonly known as the Rodgers Act. So that's supposed to be really interesting. I'm excited about that. And then on December 16th, we're going to have a Grinch pajama party, Grinch the movie. Not Grinch. There will be no live Grinches, just the movie. Any questions on programming? Yeah, great. I know it's a lot, but that's all the unique programming that we have coming up, which is which is luck, which is why maybe a programming librarian. Right. Building update. We're finding that we're receiving room requests from private groups who are larger than can comfortably fit in our rooms. And so the management team had a discussion about that. And what we think is kind of happening is on our terms and conditions of use, the meeting room say 139 people, 70 seated, and 91 people, 30 seated. And people are just kind of focusing in on that 139 and 90, which is how many people can fit in those rooms if you are standing side by side and there's not a fire. So management team talked to staff and we're going to change how we're advertising those numbers and we're going to say that they can, if it's approximately 50 people and that's a better reflection of how many people can comfortably fit in those rooms. It also is a better reflection of what staff can generally accommodate as well because larger groups tend to come in on nights and weekends. Larger groups can still be accommodated in the community center for a small fee. So they do have another option if there is a large group that needs to meet. I don't think that I don't think that's something that we need to vote on either because that part is all in the terms and conditions not the policy. But I want to let you know that that's going to be an upcoming change. And every time that there is a meeting room reservation, staff talks to that, talks to the person reserving it and get some understanding. So if there is, if there really is going to be a meeting where people are just going to stand, we can accommodate more people, but we've had no meeting where they don't need at least some tables and chairs. Right. Yeah. Right. Like that. Or more story time, they don't use tables and chairs. So, the story can fit more people and half the audience is smaller than that being. But generally, the people who are looking to reserve those rooms are all adults who needs tables and chairs and they're really focused on that on people and I think that it would better satisfy your safety. Correct. Yeah. And our downstairs room is also our shelter in place. So if you got to bid there were to be something happening and we did have actually 90 people down there, it would be a problem. Yeah. So that's a change that we're looking to make. Assistance change. Great. Yeah. So that's a change that we're that we're looking to make assistance change. Great. Great. Thanks. Any questions on that building update. Great. Okay. Equity. I talked about our code drive. I talked about our maybe nice band selection. I also just want to let you know that we got a complaint about our pride flag from the same person who has complained about it in the past this past. This one I hear it yeah. They're not a resident of the city of false church. We're pretty sure. I let them know that the flag denotes our commitment to diversity inclusion, which we do year round, not just for Pride Month. I did, you may notice, raise the American flag a little bit because flag, that's, in it, here's a little better to flag code because the American one is supposed to be and they did not specifically, their complaint was not about that, but I thought it was a good opportunity to look at the flags and be a little bit more uncomfortable. And it shows that you're hearing. You're doing it. Yeah. We paying attention to that. But we did. It was not a formal petition. It was just an email complete, which was addressed. And I have not heard back after I've responded that it's our commitment to diversity inclusion. I also said that we take our cues from the from the city. And if the city decides differently, I'll let that person who clenched know, but the city has permanent rainbow crosswalks. So I don't think that the city is going to disagree. So the flag was there just right. They felt that the flag was a political statement that's inappropriate in the government building. And I responded that it is actually just a commitment to our diversity and inclusion, especially for groups that have historically been unwelcome places. So. I think we also have a display for Native American History Month in adult services, you services had one and they've switched it out since we are well into November at this point. Looking ahead for next month, we have a meeting December 18th. And then for Amy asked me to give an update from the foundation. She's she's not feeling well. Yeah, and her baby's not feeling well. Yeah. She's out of state Sunday, the 24th through December 3rd, but if we vote on the MOA tonight, she can come back and sign it after then. She also let me know that Catherine is the sphere spinner of the Chet-Dee Long Award. I know. So just for my own awareness, the Chet-Tilango Award for outstanding service was created by the Mary Riley's Title Library Foundation to recognize a library staff member who has shown the qualities of dedication and public service that exemplify the civic life of Chet-Tilang. The award in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to one member each fall, Mr. Tilang served for over 25 years on the Board of Trustees. I believe that this award has been going on since 2020. That's what it looks like on the websites. And Library of Staff Nominating, Catherine, for how the standing service to the library for the last 15 years. Yeah. And the award ceremony will be held at the City Council meeting. At City Hall, I'm Monday December 9th, 730. So, it's very exciting and Katherine got noticed today and all that staff know tomorrow that she's the recipient and I'm really excited about that award. I think it's great for staff morale, not only for the person who receives it, but the people who nominate that person and it's really lovely. Any questions for the foundation staff? And then for our school liaison, Kathleen, let me know that the schools are entering a very busy period right now with their budget and they're also hiring a new super intact. And that was the update that I received. And that's it. It's last stop. It's long for listening. And that was the update that I received. And that's it. Last stop. I'm so listening. I know I felt bad. I was like, last one, there was nothing. Now I got lots gone. Great. Any other questions on anything? I just have to do the all on top. I'm so listening. I don't remember. Has the have the school librarians and our staff has done, yes, did that meeting happen? It did happen. Oh, good. Yeah. So the new services department hosted the school librarians and they had a collaborative meeting last month. Oh, good. OK. Just sitting there. Just sitting Okay. Just seeing that. There's group. Okay, so next thing, legislative agenda. Yeah, so, and I'm sorry, I'm a, I guess I said it's not the other ones that had comments on it still, but every year we vote on a legislative agenda. So that's the se's differences from last year is that I updated the state aid numbers. And then mostly it's pretty, it's very similar to last year's support. The freedom of aid is still super important. And legislative budgets work for the library of Virginia. So, um, any questions on that document? Can I just ask a general questions that I knew. So this is a document that you get to city council. Yes. And then city council, when they allow me to state, uses this or to use this and their communications with the state. I was trying to figure out what this, who will this document is for? It's presented to the city council. Okay. To make them aware of our priorities. Okay. And things that are important to us, I'm not, I can't tell you for sure how they specifically use it. If they do. For. Advocating to the state, I can find out and I will let you know. Yeah, I was more just curious and I'm just. Curious, I do what other citywide departments have a legislative agenda as well. My understanding is yes. Okay. Yeah. Well my understanding is that the city have legislative agenda and that because of the library's unique status, the library has an agenda that it feeds to the city as opposed to the rest of the city having a more city council saying this is sure. Yeah, and again this is I may be wrong on this so I can't definitely check but my understanding is that the city then uses its collective legislative agenda including the libraries that then go back to state legislature. Yeah, Okay. So I just kind of clear on. Yeah, no, it's a good question. And I may be wrong. Yeah. So great. I'll follow up on with that next meeting to find out specifically how it's used. But these are these are, this is the same legislative agenda that we've had. So this is my third one. This is this same one with that we've had. This is my third one. This is this same like with updated numbers and stuff, but it's the same one. Okay. So it's all still important. Yes. Exactly. Exactly. And we're still not the libraries. State libraries still not getting full funding. So we're not getting full funding from the state library. And when it has achieved, I believe one year it did achieve full funding and then it lost funding the next year. So I added language that says that not only do we want it to be fully funded, but then we want to be able to maintain that funding. Do I not recall do we need to, you do need to vote on it? Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, when you have the giraffes like this, and like with this type of document, you're going to make a small change or any change. Maybe you just highlighted? Absolutely. So that would know and just kind of upside down. It's too follow. Also, I'm curious how the school year 2020 six ever came in as an activated number and even the decreased self. I asked somebody who I emailed. Now I don't remember specifically what she works for, but there's somebody who works for Virginia State Libraries and she gave me those numbers. Okay. Okay. I'm not remembering what her title is. I haven't been through my... Is that no? It's not well as it's somebody from... It was like GM something from the state libraries. I can find out. I have not finished in my library training yet. I have been told. I will look. Yes, you are totally correct. Claudia and she is the grants and data coordinator for the library development and networking division of the library Virginia and so I emailed her to get those numbers and she gave me that up to data. Thanks. Anybody else have questions, comments? Thank you to motion to accept the legislative agenda. I'll just wait a second. I'll be there for 2025. One second. Okay. All favor. Hi. Great. Yay. Thank you. Okay. Great. Yay. Thank you. Okay. And the next stand, the agenda is Memorandum of Agreement with the Foundation. And the point of this, as I've got this right, is to memorialize the working relationship between the two entities, the library and the foundation, and be clear about essentially the, maybe the fundraising and we get it. Pretty much should be blind people. Yeah. But, question, I have one of my suggestions to we've through this, this or a few questions. And this is, foundation is already signed off. I mean, that's signed off on it, but they've approved all this. Yes. The foundation has accepted this language. And then so our job, if you all accepted as well as to agree to accept it and then agree about who should be signed it. In my recommendation, we would be at least as a document between the Foundation and the Trustees. So there was not a premium agreement. There was not a knock or something. I believe that this agreement kind of reflects what's happening, formally instead of nothing. So that's, yeah, there was no agreement, which is interesting. That's really very respected by city attorneys and stuff. I sent it to the city attorney. I let them know that we're going to be signing it. And the city attorney is the one who let me know that it needs to be voted on and then also you need to vote who's going to sign it. I also reviewed our. The library boards. This is correct. Correct procedure. So they were just like, yeah, fine, but here's the process. Yeah, I, uh, there's a, I think that in the past. This, this is a journey might be newer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah. Um, yeah. Um, yeah. I think they like to use it. So, so they, they saw new, no issues moving forward. And generally it is it is between it is involved in city a little bit but generally it is between the trustees and the foundation. I think I asked a question on yeah, I mean all district appeals and I'm just reading for this fast and that's a diet of ASS I just maybe I'll just read not even in critical. So like when we received on the foundation received the gift of the computers I think that was I'm alright it was in the years so this is your stricter guess so with that I've been in restricted gift that would have come to the board now I want my spring night. My understanding for restricted gifts is if somebody says I want to donate $1,000 and I want you specifically to buy books on World War Two, then the library board would decide if we are willing to have some other restriction, right? Or I will give, you know, let's just say, I'll give $100,000 for you to start a branch or something the library board would need to vote on those parameters. But like for the computers that would not be considered or restricted gives, because I think it was an unchanted memory way. In less than, my understanding is that if the computers were supposed to be used for a specific use of somebody said I'm going to donate computers for you to use for a canva class, yeah, or whatever. And only that than than the four things. But if somebody said I'm going to donate computers to use them I want that would not be part of approval. I think that particular gift, they were in conversation with either some of the foundation or some of the other. And still they were like, hey, we want to donate this money. What would you recommend? It was a bit more, it wasn't as formal as I'm sure this is. I was definitely with the computer. Yeah, I mean, they're still there's still unrestricted gifts, but there's just a process for how like So it's really specific. Yeah, just in case Somebody like somebody wants to do something specific and it doesn't align with our values or mission We have a way to Stay now Okay. See a cluster. Unfortunately, Amy said here to get her that but I think that that's what they mean. So yes, I think it's great. And thinking about the computer specifically, they were donated for general abuse as opposed to, as you said, for a particular thing. So if somebody donated gaming equipment, would that be a specific thing only if it was really? I think as long as we're allowed to use it for anything, it's not, yeah, specific. Yeah, right. Or if somebody donated money and said we want you to use this money for gaming, then it would come to the board because then we need to decide if we want you to use this money for gaming, then it would come to the board. Because then we need to decide if we want that money for gaming or whatever. Or I've had people donate things where in memory of somebody when they want a specific kind of collection, or they want a specific kind of service. And that would go by the board. Yes. One of the questions that's around. We can't wait any more time to look at this. The only thing I was saying is something you may find here seems like maybe we should wait. She could hear it. I mean, I don't know. Yeah, no, no, no, it's a good one. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Amy's gone from the later. It's a coming week. Let's see. So this should be back. I think the second. And could sign it after that. So tonight, if we want, we can vote to accept it. Or, and then vote who should sign it? Two separate votes. Right. So, yeah. And those are two separate votes. And if votes want, we can do that. And then wait until the next meeting to sign it. I would just say, if that's the case, make sure you've really looked at it. And if you have questions or concerns. I mean, our three members of the UN are missing two. Robert's recovering from bad surgery and Steve is traveling, he's in Canada, so we have a lot of people to because we have a majority still. Yeah, so we're good. I'm comfortable taking those two of us today, but I'm also comfortable if anybody wants to take more time with us. I'm comfortable with today. Do it does Amy and Elise have to be present at the same moment to sign in? No, at least a consign at tonight and then Amy can sign in with you. No, I think it's fine. I mean, the only thing I was thinking was, you know, if we're all in the room together, then we can make sure we're on the same page. Yeah, I understand. My understanding is that this is something that can be revisited every year. Or revisited, honestly, whenever we feel like it. So things aren't. If we go through a year and realize, wow, there are cumbersome things in here. We hadn't thought about that or the foundation, you know, has the same concerns. They're all concerns. We can change this a year for now. It's not. Is it set law? Have there been any issues that have come up that are there? They're led to this or are they just sort of now before? I think it's capturing and formalizing what's actually happening and making sure that there is an agreement that we can focus back on. Well, as long as there are any more outstanding issues. And, Erin, I think also the foundation has new leadership members who are taking a guess, I don't know, but who are saying, well, how do we actually work together? And that's a really super fair question they're probably you know learning about what foundations and friends do and I think it's all good. I was just worried I think it's all good. I'm just curious. I think that's something that happened to bring this up. I think it also generally best practices for donations to go to the foundation, not to the library. I believe the other libraries are worked at. You're not supposed to accept donations to the library. It's supposed to be a foundation or a friends group. And this also formalizes that, right? It kind of spells it out for people. And the foundation is raising more money, even if it's just through, you know, the the beer garden sales, then they had. So it's not just the gifts they were getting in the past. I think there's more money that they're raising and work. There's more bigger business in false church than like want to make a donation of some storage. So that also probably helps in some way protect them and establish rules for that. And for us, yes. They have their own body, the whole of it. So I believe that they have, I believe that they have bylaws. I don't think that they need. I'm not sure if they need bylaws because they are a not like the look up the above. Yeah, it's on foundation agree said it bit ceases to actively fundraise for or promote the library. We will expand about what in the foundation to be a set. That's a lot. But that's, I mean, that does happen. I have worked at a library where the Fronts Group, there was, there was a disagreement between what would be funded by the Fronts Group, and what would be funded by the library. And then, I mean, I kind of like that part because it states their purpose. And I've worked places where the group that was in charge of fundraising maybe did not have as clear a clear purpose and that led to disagreement. So I kind of like that there's a, this is our purpose. And if we're not doing this, then we don't need to be here anymore. Yeah, I think well, whether we sign it or reach everything tonight or wait. Is this. I'm comfortable voting on it tonight and then voting to sign it. We don't need to sign it tonight either. I'm going to listen to our next meeting. That's just what we're doing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I think I'm funny. I literally just get it working there. Yeah, questions. Yeah, yeah, those are great questions. And I appreciate it. Okay. So it sounds like we can do the following. I get a motion to accept. I think that's the right one, accept this memorandum agreement between the Library Foundation and the Library Board of Trustees. You make the motion, okay, and Jan has to ask any answers. Okay. Don't fight it. I'll vote on that. All in favor. Okay. Okay. And then a second motion. To have. Me and roll of chair. Sign the agreement between the board of trustees. And the foundation and the foundation. Director. Friends. Chair. Chair. and the foundation and the foundation director, friends, chair, chair, will sign on behalf of the foundation. That's not really the right language for a motion, but can I get a motion? Okay. Okay. And I use second. Second. Okay. All in favor? Okay. Great. That's carried. Okay. Well done. Sam. So we're here. Great. Thank you all very much. That'll be great. And really, uh, it spells out roles for both us and, um, just great. And then also, let's us just, I mean, I thought about this also. Let's say, if we say, wow, I think we have an idea. I mean, we could hand them an idea as well. We don't have to have an idea, but you know, you're saying not to a point. Right, right, right. And if the library says, or in foundation, we have a need, you know, we can pass it on to, right? Right in the term show. Okay, great. Last thing, Justin, do you have a report from the arts and humanities? Yes, just very briefly. All four electrical boxes are complete. There will be an extra round. This is like the dressing of the boxes with artwork. There'll be an extra round that will begin in early 2025. The City Council portraits, there was a pulm of our community that met in October. And this is for the City Council Chambers for two pieces of artwork. I'm going to blank some portion of it. Freddie, Freddie but and I think it was um, I'm not going to say, but it was these these two people that they wanted portraits for. So I will actually find out tomorrow what the latest update is with that because the arts Domities Council will be meeting in the morning tomorrow. That's really it. I was just very grateful even that False Rits that he tore their website for library. I know the about California and that's also long with the government school and news. So I feel like we're in the right place. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it goes it's a direct link into the website for the library. Can I ask what you do? Well, in the boxes, how do you like, do you apply for the accounting? Yeah, so it was in her FAQ that went out and the calling her when she's the director or the cherry hell and I don't know her actual title, but she's the one who receives the R&Qs and then handle that with them, along with another gentleman. And in terms of actually wrapping the boxes, my commonly select which boxes. I think that was City Council to be honest with you because I think with the next round, I think that was City Council to be honest with you. Because I think with the next round, I think that was City Council who chose the boxes. Do we know which ones they chose? No, not that. Just my decency. You can go to the corner. You can go to the corner. Okay. Any other business not on the agenda? I don't know. I have a moment. any other business not on the agenda? I don't know. Okay, so I had a chance to go to a library on my three weeks ago with a friend to Merrill and the friend had something else to do with that. I said, oh, there's a library, man. Hey, yeah. So I would be doing so I could, and I got a 10, they were not a friend to give. Oh, I'm talked about the live No comparison so I have a love and appreciation So I just made no, go ahead, you know Oh, you see, so letting me know It is such a friendly staff I noticed that everybody seems to know what I like Yeah, I make you feel welcome I created it and I just got this You know, I just want to say that. All right. Well, if there's nothing else. What's happening overnight? Yeah. And can I get a notion at the meeting? I'm in motion to a jerk. Second. Anyone? Okay. We are adjourned. All right. Thank you all. Thank you. I guess I should have put my foundation on these.
