I didn'd like to welcome up our crew from the Ditton County AgriLap Department who would like to come forward. Good morning, Chandy. Good morning. I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude to the commissioners and judge eats for allowing us to present and sign the proclamation for extension living well month. Your support is truly appreciated. So does TNI with your permission would like to present to the court a brief overview of some of our program accomplishments? May I? Yes, please. Thank you. So since the start of the year, myself, along with the Master of Wellness volunteers, have led several impactful programs that focused on improving health and wellness in our community. John Corcore, a dedicated Master of Wellness volunteer, led the Health Literacy Series, and master of memory at the Flormont Senior Center. Participants in the health literacy series learned about medication management, finding reliable information on the internet and navigating the basics of Medicare. Master of memory program helps older adults build confidence in their memorabilities and reduces their risk factors. In partnership with little MISD, I am conducting a four lesson series on cooking well with diabetes and this is the first time they'll be participating and this is just for the Spanish speaking audiences there. We have had a great turnout and all of them are learning some practical skills to manage and prevent diabetes. I also presented a workshop titled Cooking Time as part of the spring gardening series at Flour Mount Public Library. AT participants created their own personalized sought free spice mixes and left with practical tools to cook flavorful and heart healthy meals. Lastly, our most popular fall prevention program, a matter of balance, has been exceptionally well received. Since the fall, we have conducted four workshops and recently started at our fifth session at the Denton Senior Center with more than 80 people learning fall prevention strategies. Thank you so much and I hope all our programs are continuing to benefit our community. Thank you. Thank you, thank you for what you're doing. Good morning, Judge and Commissioners. My name is Dusty Five. In my role as an Extension Agent, I empower communities through gardening and nutrition education courses. And I also established new partnerships with schools, libraries, recreations, and senior centers. Over the past several months, I've launched several programs, including Get the Facts at the Colony Senior Center, a fresh start to a healthier you at the Flower Mound Public Library, and Get the Facts is a four-part series that teaches participants how to use the nutrition facts panel to make healthier food choices. We play special emphasis on sodium fats, added sugars, and portion sizes. I am proud to report that we had 21 graduates from the program at the Colonies Senior Center. A fresh start to a healthier U is a four-part course that provides research-based lessons focused on the importance of healthy nutrition. The program emphasizes increasing fruit and vegetable intake, promoting physical activity, ensuring food safety, and effectively managing food resources. It's been very successful with 20 graduates completing the program. In mid to late February, we started three growing and nourishing healthy communities guarding courses. One is at the Colony Senior Center, Flower Mound, and Pilot Point Community Library. The six-week class aims to enhance the availability of fresh produce by teaching participants how to grow fruits and vegetables in a community and backyard gardens. As a part of better living for Texans, the gardening series covers essential topics, including selecting the right garden location, planting and watering techniques, controlling plant diseases and insects, composting and, of course, harvesting. To further enrich the learning experience, we incorporate cooking demonstrations that utilize the produced harvested by participants. I am also thrilled to be a part of the Junior Master Gardener Program, which has 18 enthusiastic students enrolled. The Fantastic 4-H Gardening Initiative tailored to grades 3-5, draws inspiration from the renowned Master Gardener Program. It offers a wonderful opportunity for kids to explore horticulture and environmental science while developing leadership and essential life skills through fun and creative activities. I can't wait to see these young gardeners what they achieved throughout this amazing journey. Thank you for your time today. Yes, thank you. Thank you for what you do for what you do. Thank you. Impressive things. So I'm going to go ahead and read this proclamation. This is a core proclamation recognizing extension living well month, whereas the health and well-being of the family are crucial to the functioning of the nation, and providing adults and youth the necessary skills and knowledge to help to help them achieve the best quality of life possible. Whereas physically, psychologically, socially and emotionally strong families provide strength for future generations. Whereas Extension is a nationwide educational network for the land grant universities funded cooperatively through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, state governments and county governments. Whereas Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, didn't county initiatives, in nutrition, healthy lifestyles, food safety, financial management, parenting, and parental health, enables citizens to gain knowledge and skills to lead full and productive lives. Whereas Extension offers educational workshops, seminars, publications, and websites to help families and individuals farm, businesses, and communities. And whereas the designation of Extension Living Well Month is a fitting tribute to the National Extension Association, the Association of Family and Consumer Science, Professionals, and local staff to provide education critical to the quality of life of adults, of youth and families. Now they're. and Consumer Science professionals and local staff to provide education critical to the quality of life of adults, youth and families. Now therefore be it resolved that the Ditton County Commission's Court does hereby proclaim the month of March 2025. As extension living well month in Ditton County and we encourage our residents to take advantage of the educational opportunities. That family and consumer science educators of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension offer here in our community. Done at Open Court this 11th day of March 2025 upon a motion made by motion by Commissioner Williams, second by Commissioner Mitchell. Any discussion? I want to thank you all for all that you do. It's a, I think AgriLife is such an important part of the fabric of what Ditton County has been abound. We've been a real trailblazer since the beginning of the extension service here in the state of Texas. And so I want to thank you for continuing that rich legacy in each and every one of the lives of the people who participated in it. So all right, we have a motion to second any other comments? All in favor say aye. Any opposed? Motion carries unanimously. Thank you. We'll take a picture. Thank you. I'm going to joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not a joke. I'm not to get a better view. In back here, up up here. Yeah, yeah. Perfect. There we go. There we go. What is that? I need to almost get down. All right. Lane, if you'll come forward. I don't know what you're doing. What's good to see you again? I'd like to go to item 3B, which is approval of a proclamation recognizing lane let's singer for his achievement of Eagle Scout. And I will tell you that we do lots of different court items that come through this court. And one of my favorites to acknowledge people is our Eagle Scouts because of the accomplishments that you're already achieving here at your young age. So we're very excited to have you here. So this is a court proclamation recognizing Lane Luxinger for his achievement of Eagle Scout, whereas the mission of Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the scout oath and scout law. The scouts achieve their ranking by fulfilling requirements in areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills. And whereas Lane Lettsinger calls Troop 60 Frontier Trails District of the Longhorn Council home and with 10 years of service, Lane has now achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout, which is earned only by the most committed role models in our society. Whereas for Lane's Eagle Scout project, he gathered supplies, handled the funding, and directed fellow troop members in a project to build seven yard shades for a playground area for the dogs at the Lake Dallas Animal Shelter. These much needed shades provide safe, cool areas for shelter dogs to play and rest outside. And whereas Lane kindly, patiently and consistently, and generously gave his time to the younger members of the troop and mentored a Cupscout Pack as didn't chief. Lane Quiley personifies humble service to others and continues in his mentorship to others. And whereas the scout law has 12 points, each of which is a goal for every scout, a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. We believe that Lane exemplifies these points and is dedicated to serving others through diligence, integrity, and selflessness. Now therefore be it resolved that didn't kind of commissioners court does hereby recognizing congratulate. Lane let's singer for earning the high honor of EGOSCOT and thank him for his service to our community. We extend our best wishes to him for continued success and happiness. Then an open court this the 11th day of March 2025 upon a motion by the chair. Second by Commissioner Mitchell. Well, Lane, I want to just commend you for this achievement. And as a father of two EGLEScouts I know firsthand the commitment that it takes not only from you as a youth, but also that of your family. And the adult leaders that have volunteered their time to promote your desire to achieve this high rank. And so in all the different MayorBatch counselors and all the people who've been along your journey. It is a singular award for you but it also is a report card on the people that surround themselves and invest in your life as well and so I want to commit everyone that took part in becoming to helping you become the fine young man that you are today and you stand before us. And so when I look out and I see our egoscouts that come through this courtroom over the years, it gives me hope in the next generation that we're going to be, there's good leaders that will be following and taking our places one day. So I'm excited for you, proud for you, and I'm glad that you're here today. So keep up your public service. I think it's a great project. Do you want to tell us anything that you, what was your favorite thing about Boy Scouts? I'm hanging out with my troop going on all the types of campouts we would do. We would go to like shooting campouts or hiking campouts. Good. But I really liked about the troop. All right, I like it. I like it. your head's in great memories.
