So, pursuing the government code sections 54957.6 and 54956.9, the board met in closed session on the Chairman's birthday to discuss the items reference on today's agenda as CS1, as CS2, SCS3, SCS4, and SCS5. So with respect to SCS2, the Board unanimously approved a proposed $300,000 settlement in the workers' compensation case, Robert Osborne versus County of Orange. In this case, the applicant has retired Sheriff's captain who suffered cumulative trauma to his spine and cardiovascular system. With respect to SCS3, the Board unanimously approved a proposed $95,000 settlement, in a matter of Ritpo Revas versus County of Orange. In this case, the plan of alleged that the Sheriff's Department deputies used unreasonable and excessive force against him during an altercation in the jail. With respect to SCS-4, the board unanimously approved a proposed $248,740, 82 cent settlement in the workers' compensation case, Julian Valencia versus County of Orange. In this case, the applicant here retired Deputy Sheriff 2 alleged cumulative trauma to a spine and shoulder and also sought compensation for bladder cancer. The settlements approved today remains subject to the final approval of others and whether settlements or finalized copies of the agreements can be obtained from CEO risk management to any person who requests.
