I'd like to welcome you all to the Tuesday, February the 4th, 2025 meeting of the Ditton County Commissioners Corps. We're glad to have you all here in attendance today. We also have people tuning in at home and at their office. So welcome. We're glad you all could make time to watch our meeting today. At this time, I'd like to remind everybody to please turn off your cell phones as our as Theresa Swan, our A to Commissioners Corps is coming for. She's on lead, it's our invocation and our pledges. We'll be led by Eric Gilder sleeve with County Administration. If you'll please stand. Good morning. Dear Lord, we are thankful for this day that you have given us for all its blessings. It its many opportunities and all the challenges. May we appreciate and use each day that comes to us and we pray for your strength, guidance and wisdom to guide us through each day's duties and each day's problems. Maybe may we be challenged to give our best always and may we be assured of your presence with us. Amen. Thank you very much. So I mean the pledge to the American flag. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, and liberty and justice for all. And to the Texas flag, I pledge allegiance could be Texas one state I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. I'm going to go to the front. go ahead and go to our first one which is Brian Chase. Mr. Chase, if you will come forward. Thank you, Judge. Thank you, commissioners. My name is Brian Chase. I'm Vice President for Government Affairs for Bell Texture on Inc. And I saw, of course, all of you down at our event in December where we opened up our new facility But I really just wanted to come here this morning and thank you for Your partnership in that new aerospace manufacturer facility down in the Alliance corridor The event itself. I think was successful. Appreciate the governors aboard. Appreciate your support work in that event. I also want to just say a special thank you on the staff side to Reno Malone. She was just an incredible partner for us as we were doing our site selection process which took us to multiple states. And then ultimately as we were kind of working out the actual agreements with the county. So just to appreciate Reno's help as well. And I will say, although this project is going to be an important economic driver, it's going to create tremendous jobs and greater economic opportunity for folks locally and regionally. More importance is what it's going to mean for our nation's war fighters. Because what this aircraft will do that we're producing the parts for in that facility is going to really enable our war fighters to face an increasingly dangerous world that we face as well as our allies. The factory that we have down there, once it comes online in the next few years, is going to build the drives and the blades for our next generation tilt rotor aircraft, which means it can take off vertically and then convert, fly a porous on like a plane at turbo prop speeds. And that is going to really be a huge enabler for the US Army as they transform army aviation. But right behind the army, and they're going to be doing it to replace most of the black Hawk fleet, which is thousands of aircraft. Right behind the US Army is the US Marine Corps. They have a strong interest in the program and we are actively talking to many US allies and partners around the world as well internationally so there's a lot of interest in not just in the US but abroad with our partners in this project. So this is going to be tremendous impact locally, but even more so nationally and internationally. And I really just wanted to say thank you very much for your support and we look forward to staying in touch as the project evolves. So, thank you. Perfect. Thank you. Well, I want to echo your sentiments and I want to thank all yours great partnership. It's going to be wonderful. hundreds of people are going to be employed right here in Ditton County with this new technology you are rolling out. Just think about the products made here in the county and how they're going to be used around the world which is very exciting as it protects American interests around the world and so I want to thank you all for doing business here here and didn't count. I want to also compliment Rhene for all her excellence and shepherding everybody through the process. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Rhene, I'd like to thank you for being a part of what's going to make America strong piece through strength. And I'm so excited about what I'm hearing on these new assault helicopters. Is that the right term perhaps? It is. So thank you. We're so proud to have you here. Let us know if there's anything further we can do. So that's my concern as PTO time. Because we have to risk our lives to get there on the weekends. So what's the difference? You know, I'm just saying. Okay. The policy has not changed and so if you're asking for PTO times for hours not worked if you weren't scheduled. You know, would not be eligible for that accrual. This is like history month and I hope I'm alive when we can no longer have to to pick out certain months or days for history, but we can no longer have to pick out certain months or days for history, but we can all say American history. And I'm hoping I'm alive that we can all come together and recognize American history and include everyone. You know, some people get left out as a reason why we have have to pull out and say black history of Hispanic Day and all this. I want to be able to include everyone with American history because we all make up this nation, this country, and I thank you Peggy for doing this because we do need to acknowledge people that have done work in the community. And if we did not have black history months, some of the people that have done work would not get acknowledged. So I'm looking forward to that day. So Lord, keep me alive a little while longer. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Any other comments? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. Alright, let's go to our community updates. We'll start with Commissioner Williams. And afterwards, a lady came up to me who is the library. And she thanked us as a county for the way that we support the crime library, which I really appreciated. In Rono, we have a family Valentine's Dance on the 14th, from 7 to 9 at the brick center. And at Trophy Club, we have the Carter Bloodcare Town Blood Drive that's going to take place on Valentine's Day. Well, I'm glad Commissioner Mitchell mentioned that Chilli dinner this Thursday next. I think it's going to be a fun thing to help our communities in school. So I'll plan to be there. So that'd be great. I want to give a big shout out to our Denton County employees and our work family for their blood donations they did last week. We exceeded the goal. And so I think that is wonderful. So kudos to our, again, members of our Denton County work family for rolling up their sleeves quite literally and helping to save lives. We are having another Carter blood care blood donation and honor in memory of Kathy O'Keefe who was the founder of Winning the Fire. We lost Kathy on New Year's Eve of this year. You may recall. On February, Friday, February 28th from 8 to 2 at the YMCA there in Flower Mound on Cross Timbers. We're going to be having another blood drive. And so we always need to have blood donation. So it's just a great habit to get into and a schedule to do that. But please get online to get to find a Carter Blood Care for Friday, February 28th for an honor again of Kathy O'Keefe, founder of Winning the Fight. All right, and we have no action to go into for executive session today. So hearing, I know this is not great. So I would like to remind the public that on, there will be no commissioners court meeting on Tuesday, February the 18th. There will be no commissioners court meeting that day. Members, are there any other items you want to mention today? All right, hearing none. We are adjourned. Thank you.
