Not going through or maybe seeing it. Is it about recording now? Yeah. Let's multiply some two different recording devices. We can determine which one does the best quality. After we're in state to do the comments we need. No, that's very new. Are they on? Yeah, they're on a go. You guys, we are being reported. Okay. I mean, still clip it out until we're trying two different reporting devices to see if we can figure out quality. Thank you. And it is now 5.30. So we call the March regular meeting of the Avidil State's Downtown Development Authority to order. We have an agenda before us, as well as minutes that were provided a few days ago. Can I get a motion to approve them? Lisa, thank you. Do I have a second? Thank you, Walter. All in favor? All attending directors voted aye for the record. Andy Relage is not quite here yet. We do expect him later. First item to finance report, Shannon. You have an income statement about sheep. This is as more of you'll remember that Brittany will come on a quarterly basis and kind of walk us through the bigger picture stuff but she prints us out this. There's nothing really notable to I'm notable here other than we know nothing notable to note. Yeah, there you go. So articulate You'll see that in our new income statements that we have our 25 budget actually on the income statement Which is super exciting New change then you have your today and kind of the of the difference So that's kind of a nice. Thank you. Love the headings. Yeah, I will I will pass this on to to Brittany This is her our handy work, but it certainly makes it a lot easier for us We're still at the beginning of the year so It's pretty sure for any questions about I got a got a quick question. The rent revenue, our budget was 28.5, but we're only at 500. I figured we would budget based on what we knew. Yeah, I think that it ended up that Peter's constructive was starting a little later than we initially thought. So we'll. Okay, I just, you know, the numbers map, that's all. Yeah, that's, we did, I need to double check that in the sure that Brittany also picked up the correct number. But, but I'm, yeah, I think when we passed the budget, we thought it was going to be January 1. It's going to be closer. It was mid February. Yeah. Okay. And the money that the arts Alliance pays, we don't call that rent, do we? We do call it rent. Okay, so. was mid February. Yeah. OK. And the money that the arts alliance pays, that we don't call that rent, do we? We do call it rent. OK, so. But it's, you know, is the coverage OK? $250 a month, so it is really modest. OK. So my question is just a point of curiosity and explanation, because I get I hear from residents. So do we, we do post the budget on our website? Don't we or do we not? We have financials posted up there on a quarter of we basis. Oh, we do. Okay. We have been, we had some technical glitches at some point here that created some issues that we had to go back and fix. If the budget is not on the website at all to be. Okay. I will double check. Well, obviously, we're posting these. Yeah. I mean, it's what if you do just make sure. I will. I will. I don't want to make it. People extrapolate makes it look like we like trying to hide something. No, I agree. That's why that's. I think we only just post it. I will. I think it's just. It's all about. So both of them. Thank you. Well, we have the 2024 year end. It's the financial document that is all I'm going to do. The city's website, DDA page. OKDA Treasurer's report, most recent DDA Treasurer's report. Okay. That is that. Okay. Well, since we've approved the 2025 budget, we ought to go ahead and post it. Okay. Thanks. Okay. Thank you. Good question. Thank you. I do think there was a glitch that obviously Ellen is now fixed but Our website people decided they re-organized for us. Thank you. Next item economic development report. Shannon Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna keep keep it reasonably short the the Avenue complete street project. It's continuing on I'm you'll notice that we are we skipped so we're now working in front of the Dale, so that's why that's all, that all that concrete is broken up, because we're going to do that project to help keep them on track, and we'll come back around and continue. We've got several crews out there that are working. We also, I think AGL is finally finished. So hopefully, they took them a very long time to move one of their connection points. And then we also are now waiting to have water to move a water line that's kind of in the block in front of like right at Pine Street. So what can I say, construction? We run into things periodically, but as a whole it's on time and on budget and you can start to see all the plazas come together. Yeah, I mean the patterns and the pavement patterns I think are really lovely that are going in between the two plazas and we're kind of moving and getting there. So, uh-huh. On, when you go, I guess just past the waffle house area where it makes that little S-turn back, you know, it Avondale. Yeah, on South Avondale. That the ground underneath those plates, it's coming apart. I mean, it's dangerous now. I will. That is where the water department is. Or down your jacks. On the But yeah, I mean, there's, where that, it's basically that's on. That's on 278. Yeah, it's on it. Yeah, but, but again, they've got plates on it. Yeah, but they're loose. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's washed out and, you know, it's, it's gotten to the point where somebody gonna lose a tire. Okay, I thank you. Yeah. I will again tell the watershed department to please address it. So that's the cap thing? It is aimed to cap thing. They are responsive, but it's well-telling. Nobody's been out there to my knowledge in the last couple of days after that big rain. Maybe it was Ellen that noted it, but somebody else on staff said something to me as well. So we'll continue to get on it. So what is the current estimate completion? End of December. End of December. So we are still tracking. We are still tracking, even with all of our crazy changes and all of the cabs. All of the cabs. So we're still tracking for the end of December. I've always given them a little bit of wiggle room because it seems like inevitably you have that but their latest schedule still shows them the end of December. So that would be fantastic. Okay. So that's where that project is. And then we'll talk about some of the other support systems stuff that the marketing committee is working on in the next presentation. Just in terms of kind of the development, to Johnny is the tire store and they have submitted parmits, they've gotten comments back. expect them to, I mean, their desperate to get their parmits out there ready to get going. We're just trying to get everything through safe built right now. As the design been approved? Design has been approved. So there's design and then there's the building. They're dealing with things like how they're gonna deal with stormwater or I don't really even know the fire stuff. I mean, these are all building things that they're dressing with safe belts. So design and building construction are two different things for me. So I'm not sure if I'm answering the question you were asking. Do we know what it's going to look like? We do know what it's going to look like. I don't have it with me but I can bring it even to the next meeting and I can see that. This is tire storage slash market. Yes. To be market. So that part has been whatever approvals they need for that they've gotten. Yeah. And they just need to get permits to the start construction. Yes, that's where they are. Now, they're looking at having a use agreement with the city for linear park where they'd help upgrade the park and give access and we'll have to bring that to the BMC and we don't have that yet. So that's where they are still saying that that's a big part of their equation and what they're gonna, what they wanna do. And I think that's a good partnership for us to have, but we're just not quite there yet. So I think- Are they creating the use agreement? No. Steven Quinn will create the use agreement from the city side and then we are working through kind of the negotiated points and then he'll create the document. But we'll have to see it first. Yes, it has to go to the BOMC for approval. Yeah, depending on what's involved as I've mentioned to you, I mean given that linear gardens is public infrastructure and given that it's going to get improved as part of this and that it's a gateway, there could be an opportunity for the DDA to participate if necessary. Yeah, I think that's a big deal. Yeah, I mean it's obviously a front door. We can certainly make it. Yeah, yeah. And you know, it's important. Is that that part of it I thought that wasn't part of our charge that side of the road we annexed yeah it's in the central business we were given it we were given it yeah to Cap County okay but I'm talking about the DDAs part is that in the city CDB that's a good point that's a great point if it's not we can't. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. We changed right there. I mean, we could probably do that. I'm so pissed. I'm not gonna ever... I mean, we could probably do that. I don't know. I mean, it needs to be in the boundaries though. Yeah, it's got to be in the CBD for us to spend a dime on. I think it's very possible to linear gardens doesn't pisen. OK. But the building itself is because linear would have been a good point. I think that needs to be part of our purview that side of the street. I think that side of the street is just the. No, I'm just saying. The nearest. The grocery store, whatever, you know, the bigger picture is we need to be able to help that side of the street. Kyle what would be the process for extending this boundaries? I mean it's in the city? Yes. It's just not in your map. The BMC just says it. It would just be an amendment to the BMC. Yeah. Your resolution that attaches the map which gets done. Yeah. That seems like a very simple. We should do it. A simple thing to give some flexibility. I can look at the existing map and the resolutions. I mean, in this particular case, because it's a recent, relatively recent gift from DeCab County, I don't think there's any way it would be in the show. Yeah, pretty sure it would be. But the boundary, there's a document somewhere, that's where it looks like somebody took a crayon. And that's our official boundary. It has been for some of the things on that side of our art. I totally agree. Is that Magic Marker? I mean, big enough. Yeah. That's the worst. Well, look at it. Maybe I'll get Ellen to help us. I mean, you may want to think about if you want to amend it. To go to an amendment. To amend, to be at all. To anything else. To look at pragmatically. That's something you can tell me. Let's go to a specific office. I don't know if this is official but it does the entire show. Oh yeah, that's the last part. What does it show in the park? Does it show the park right on the edge of the, I don't know if this is accurate. Maybe that boundary was made before the cap was open. But this is what we would have been. It would have been. It would have absolutely been. There's no way the boundaries for DDA haven't changed in the last couple of years and that happened just recently. All right, so the action there is you guys will find the official map and look at the proposal to go to the B.O.M.C. But I think we ought to go ahead and just examine it. Everything that we think should be amended. Yep. We'll do. We talked about it in this strategic planning conversation, but then we didn't choose to do anything at the time. But let's swing back around. That's what I know. The Dale, everything's kind of moving on. TBG. Oh, TBG. So TBG, same thing. They are, they've submitted for permits. They're way down the road. They've got a couple little things they're trying to wrap up, but they should be good. So I expect them to keep on moving. The Dale, again, they're still on track. They are, they're struggling a little bit to little bit to get a transformer that Georgia powers just hasn't delivered yet. But they're continuing to move on down the road. We talked to them about possibly coming to next month's meeting and talking through where their le they're where their leases were. Yeah, I would love a occupancy update. Yeah, and so they have one, two, three, four. I think they've got five leases that they've signed and then they've got five leases, including their own two restaurants. So the five includes their two restaurants? And they've got I think two or three that are kind of in process. So that's kind of where they are. They have three restaurants right? Well, yeah. Some a subset of the other. But we're talking about them coming to the next DDA meeting and Talking to you exactly where they are and We'll have more details by then. Sure. Thank you. It looks wonderful. It looks It makes our whole street look different. It's like gosh, we have a real Main street. Yeah, I knew it would be nice, but it is honestly really even more beautiful than I expected yeah it's it's fantastic um you know some of the other development I haven't heard from real recently so I'm not sure what's happening on that front so I think it's a wait and see I think there are lots of unknowns right now in the world, and so I think that's making things a little bit less, not quite as quick. So anything in particular that you guys have on those that you want to keep on going of the grants by the way, we submitted for grants or to actually two grants and that's what this map is. So one, I mean both, I will tell you, I think both of these grants are kind of long shots, but we ask because you certainly can't win if you don't ask. The pink circles, those are where bike racks are going in as part of the complete street projects, so those are already moving forward. We ask for what is called a GM grant, which is about a $60,000 grant to help fund the green bike racks, which are just intended to be one of these fun bike racks that may take different shapes. Like they might look like a leaf, they might look like marshmallow or know, there are all these different ones that we can do and say it's intended to just kind of be something whimsical and fun and functional. And they're on 278. Well, they're where all the green ones are. All the green ones. So they're kind of... Oh, all the green. Okay. And then the shared street concepts are just the part of the street scaabes that we have in our zoning and we've seen some concepts for those and we put in for a Federal grant for those that comes through transportation funds and so you know those are there's some big unknowns there, but we submitted We had some money associated with these in the capital budget. And so this and bringing in those federal funds would enable us to leverage those funds. Does TA stand for transportation? Yes. Well, transportation and hand alternatives there. Thank you. And what does GM stand for? General Motors. Okay. It's a main street. It's a main street. It's a main street grant. Bless their hearts. Bless their hearts. So, um, yes. So that's just more of an FYI, um, these take a while. Uh, we have, we had applied a couple of years ago for a grant for Laredo that upgrades Laredo repaves it Heads and some bike facilities there and DOT agreed to take that one on they funded it and we're They're we're now getting messages and that we're ready to move forward Okay, that that looks like and it's so needed What if happened before 278 is done? I'm thinking to fix the relevant crossing to. Yes. I mean it is so needed. It is. I mean let me put it this way. On one hand they're saying that but on the other hand it may not happen. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, but on the other hand, it may not happen. Yes, exactly. We don't really actually know yet. Okay, I don't even get a message. So it's unknown. Any development update questions for Shannon. Thank you. That's a great update. Next item, micro grant extension. Yes. One of the things that I wanted to bring to your attention is, first of all, all of micro grants, we had applications and 100% of it was... Subscribe. Subscribe. So we had two applications that came in. Both. 100% of it was. Subscribe. Subscribe. So we had two applications that came in before we had an opportunity to close down the applications just so you know. We issued all of it. So those two are on hold. We then closed the applications so that we didn't have people more people disappointed because we didn't have any more money. They've all gotten their letters. They've all gotten their letters. There are four or five of them that needed to come through permitting. I think we've now worked with three of the five, so they're all moving forward from the permitting perspective, which they had to do first. And now it's really on Kyle's plate to get We've started we Putting together the grant agreement document, which is you have already proved that it's very simple one one document that they sign their landlord to the extent is equitable, sans to consent. And in our chairman, you start getting some electronic notifications to sign. Those will all go out. They've started going out. They'll all go out by hopefully tomorrow. And my hope is we'll start from them, signing the documents and then getting the money out. We'll be trying to see some we need some other results. We had approved for the first. We approved 25. 25 and we have two but I've additionally I've heard from... Well we shot it down. Right but I've heard from at least two other Pretty prominent while heaven and banjo coffee both are You know they have their stuff ready now. Yeah And I've heard from at least two others good beyond that that we're interested but You know didn't that quick enough and so anyway, so one question I think is on the table is are you guys interested in adding any more funds to that? I have one of the things that if you look at the Georgia Fund one, revenue they came in this month, we had 20,000, you could put, we could put somewhere between 15 and 20,000 back into it and extend it. I might ask you, even if we do, maybe give us to next month before we reopen it. Let us try to catch up. Yeah, let's get these done. Let's get these done. I'm, you know, I might be in a little bit of panic mode, but we could open it off again if you guys were interested in putting a little more resources into that. They are well received. I don't know if you want to. It was pretty open-ended the way we did it this last time. So there weren't a lot of strings attached to it. As long as you're meeting the code, you can do pretty much anything. And I think that's a good thing. And I just want to make sure that you guys know that that's the way that that works. Well, by pretty much anything, I mean, we talked about it. We have a list, but there are not very many things that don't fall in the list. So just. They can't use it for operational expenses. They can't use it for operational expenses. That's the main, they can't pay in boys. They can't pay in boys, but you can, you know, it can be used for marketing expenses. Right. You can use it for exterior improvements, bureaus, signage, equipment. I mean, it's pretty open-ended. We do have, you have to be in business for six health digital stuff As long as it's either equipment or marketing, so not operations We do have a six month got to be in business for six months and how many individual applicants that we approve? That's OK. Oh, I can look. 12? 12? Yeah, I was going to say. Maybe 13. 10, 12. It was 13. Somebody didn't want the full 2000. Yeah. Correct. There were some that were for less. 1, 1. So what would you recommend? I would have done 20. You would do an additional 20. I would have, but it ends up to you guys. I mean, I'm- I think if- I think it's fine. I just think we need to decide when you're going to open it back up and let the AEPA know when that's going to be so that they- I don't mind opening it back up now as long as we set an expectation that we won't be making awards. So awards for another for a while. So what if we get more applications than we have before? I would I would finish this. That's just my opinion. I would finish this and then move forward. And the floor because otherwise you're going get inundated, and then you're going to have to start picking and choosing. Yeah, I know. And that's a whole different ball of wax. Yeah. Do you agree that first in? Yeah, absolutely. Which is what we've done. Yeah. So first in. But why create a problem? So I think you and I are in agreement, right? I think we ought to just finish what's under play. But all I'm saying is when we do open it back up, we need to decide to the two that we've currently, are they already in the queue? I would consider them already in the queue. Okay, so. Unless somebody else feels different. That's fine. That's fine. Just let's just, you know, so I just think we need to be very transparent about when we're going to open it back up. I don't imagine that there's any accounting, but are they required to tell us a what they're going to do or when they're going to do it? Oh yes. So it might be worth waiting to see how that plays itself out too. Yeah. I mean, it's a reimbursement. Okay. So they do have to give us. of us. That's your seat. Okay. Or invoices. And they have like a six month. I mean, they have a period of time to do it. I think it's as much as six months to do it. So I don't think we want to wait all the way to the end because that's a long, but that could be a long time. Right. I would just. I like the idea of just getting the process and then letting the A, E, B, A know when we're going to open it back up. Yeah. And that there are a limited number of. So is there a motion? I think the 20, 20,000 additional dollars is reasonable with the criteria that we would reopen at a fixed published date. So I make a motion that we approve 20,000 more and we open in three months. That way the money's being spent, we get a pretty good idea of what's taken place with our attorney making sure all the documents get in the sound correctly. But you know three months out, that will give everybody an opportunity then to see how we're doing, how they're doing, and moving forward. Cemets? I think that's absolutely fine. And it's a good place to start. We won't do it before next meeting so if something changes between now and the next meeting will regroup but I think that's a very good way to start. I think that's a good way to go. Other business, not a way to make it. I do have a motion to allocate $20 additional $1,000 and that we would reopen in three months or 90 days. Do I have a second? Thank you, Lee. We have a motion in a second. Any comment? They're being none. All in favor? Aye. Aye. And for the record, all the all directors vote in the eye. So thank you very much. Thank you, Sean. Next item, marketing and communication status support. Ellen. I know. I'm going to turn it over to up again in a second, but I take one to make sure everybody saw that we won. Yay! Yay! Thank you, Evan. So, small town beer scene again. So we're the town drunk once again. Small town drunk. I'm going to call you. Yeah, I'm going to see. So that was the biggest thing to call the beer. That was the biggest, I'm going to call you. That's exciting. So, Adrianna's going to talk to you about a few items. Yeah. Okay. Hi, all. Howdy. So, we are moving in Groven with the barrel folks, which I'm so excited about. As of the last meeting, we had the 18-week submission, so we ended up giving 77. Wow. Which I think is incredible, personally. So, people seem excited about that. From that you can see on your little bracket that we were narrowed down to 32. And as an hour ago, we launched the sweet 16, which is exciting. This bracket also is a principal bracket that lives on social media that is people wanted to actually present themselves. That's pretty exciting. Dave, you will see that Barrel Street has made it. Yeah, I see that. It is moving along. But there are some great ways in here. Yeah, I'm partial to Pylonsite and Dolly Partition personally. I like Dolly Partition. But yeah, that's going pretty great. I'm kind of a fan of Conolesa. Conolesa is pretty good. That's a good one. When's the next one? The next one will get down to the Elite 8 next week, and then we'll have the final four by the end of March. Since we have four BF people, four names. Perfect. That's what we will get down to. So next is the four roundup. Okay, so for anybody that doesn't know how to vote, how do you get how do you get to your bracket and say you can vote? Oh, so these are... so we will get down to. So, for anybody that doesn't know how to vote, how do you get to your bracket so you can vote? Oh, so these are vote on these? Yeah, vote on that. I thought they went. I thought you were just making it a... No, it's not like, no, no. No, no, no. You got a line of vote. Yeah, so they're going to vote. On social media, there is a vote. so far. Yes. And actually both will lie right in like so. But they can also vote in our Instagram and Facebook stories as well. So I'm taking those votes plus the actual bracket votes and then getting the numbers of how we got here. So people actually can vote. I'm not dictating. It's on social media. It is on social media. If I was dictating some of the names that I were part of anybody does know how to do this and that wasn't enough Audrey on it is here to teach you. Yes. So we need you voting. I can take a hang out and she will tell you exactly how to do it. Oh, it's on. If you go to the Explorer Avenue Instagram page, just if you just go to not easy for them to find, they're just nagging stitch for the avenue. I think if there was a link on Explore Avenue said, put a link at the bottom of the bracket page. Thank you for that. Thank you for the old people. For the old people. That's that. Any other box? No, really cute. I just really any other Really cute I think I think it's going great Next thing oh annual report video So the Lisa your video is live on YouTube It is also one the DBA side of the cities page Josh if you don't find go into it. Yes, so if you go to the actual city website, I have no States.org, and then you go under government and then click BDA and you scroll. Yeah, if you don't mind going to the top of the page Josh please. So on the city side, of course you go to government and then downtown development authority that only Q2GDAs page on the website and then if you scroll we are going to move it but for right now you scroll all the way to the bottom that is the annual report so it's available there. And if you click it, it can also link you actually to YouTube as well. So it lives on both things. We are going to get it on the actual Explorer Avenue page as well. But right now it is on both Things we are gonna get it on the actual Explorer Avenue page as well But right now it is on the the city side and on YouTube and We're gonna add just a PDF. Oh, yes, and the actual slides that Dave and Lisa Mentioned in the video are gonna also get linked as well being on one of the PDF version of those two. That will also get uploaded to everything as well. Yeah. Okay. And any questions about these? Dross, do you want to play a Josh? Yeah, let's play a Josh. Let's try to get a Josh. It's kind of long. Like 30 seconds. It's not like the whole film about the computer's TVA. Yeah. The whole thing is exciting to also return that invests in it's kind of long. Like 37, it's not like the whole film. It was a TV day. Yeah. Well, I've seen you now. The whole thing is 18 years old. So you're going to have to have that in the best. It's 1991. Recently, both of our children grew up in that house and their family had moved back to Avidola States as well. So like many of you, I love our city. and I am quite vested in its long-term well-being. Yeah, so if you scroll through, you'll see all that and that's all up there, so... I love our city and I am quite nested in its long-term well-being. Yeah, so if you scroll through you'll see all that and that's all up there. So great job today then Lisa for getting that. Can't you wanna do one more? Oh my god. Oh, take. I kinda wanted to do you have the other, do you have a click from the other of her neck? Wow, that's a good one. I wasn't sure you would actually be able to see us, but I guess you can. And so the posit first, second, though, don't you? Oh, yeah, I wasn't sure you would actually be able to see us, but I guess you can. And so the posit first second though, just, yeah, I haven't seen these. And so this is just a little draft. We haven't, it's not finalized yet, but as you all know, we were getting clips from some of the businesses as well. So this is a draft of the video from Nick at Wild Heaven. Hey, I'm Nick Brody. I'm the co-founder of Wild Heaven Beer. We're a brewery in Taprum. You're in Abundale, USA. One of the things that love most about Abundale, USA is that small business gets actual, tangible support. The Downtown Development Authority helped develop the thing we call Abundale, AIL Day. We've done it, I think we're on our coming up on our fourth one. And it's an exciting fun day where the community comes together, folks go around to our brewery and other nearby breweries and have a lot of fun celebrating the fact that we have a cool little town here. And that day is actually one of our two biggest days of the year, typically. And the DDA really does a lot to help make that happen with advertising, creating neat art and glassware, and we breweries come up with a special beer for it. But what I love most about it is that we see the whole community and that it's one of those things that we businesses didn't do on our own, but we got real help from the DDA and that's been awesome. So that says you're drunk, it's not finished yet, but just so that you all can see the progress of where we're going with those videos. Lefty Lees is getting recorded on this Thursday, but we have Gillette recorded as well as... Avendelle Arts Alliance is Aventile Arts Alliance is also recorded. So those four are set in stone. And the veil is also back after two-giver video as well in the film. So still confirming the actual date for when that's going to be. Right. Yeah, that's it. Well done, thank you. Any questions or anything about that? Okay, skip over to branding for a second. Then I'll you finish. Shop local? Yes, so shop local. We have contacted the team for it was that were the winners last time, but unfortunately, you know, with the snow, there already had to get rescheduled. So we've contacted them to get a rescheduled date still working on that. It's going to get combined with team nine, which were the winners of Q2, contacted them as well, still confirming all details, but that is in the works as well. On the way. I think we also, I'm going to tap in here. I haven't been in touch with the team captains in a while, and so I think that we are, I have a letter ready to go and a little questionnaire that lets them know that we're going to convert this into a individual competition and then ask some key questions. What do they think would be valuable as a prize? And some of those core questions that we're asking that I hope they can give some insight to, and then asking them to be, continue to be ambassadors for the program. I do think it will be easier for us to administer as an individual program rather than the team effort, but I also think we still need them as ambassadors. I think it might be easier to generate enthusiasm too. Yeah, well, now you can plan to go to the coffee shop and invite your friends. It doesn't necessarily have to be just your neighbors. So it opens it up a lot more. So we'll be getting that communication out here this week. Okay. Thank you. Our last topic in that section really was about branding just to give you guys a little update to where we stand on the city's branding R&B. We have narrowed it down in Shannon and Patrick and I met with three finalists and so we'll keep working toward getting that finalized. You guys will be, many of you will be involved in like meeting with him ever, we're working on something like that. So what is the scope of those? This is just the city's branding, will there be a sub thread for the downtown where it all be the same? This scope is a city rebrand specifically. They have been provided the guidelines that were developed for the Explore Avenue and downtown development authority. So they have them as a reference point. But this scope did not include like redoing any of that. So this was city dealing with city. It's bigger than just a logo. It's brand platform and how we're kind of talking about it. Well, it result in the DDA need to change any of its branding logos, looks, fields, website. Not that I'm, that is not part of the scope of this project. was that not that. I think once we're involved in it, you know, and how we see that revolve with City logo and the City theme roll out, then you guys could determine if you felt like it should evolve any differently for our explorer. OK. Thank you. Are the questions for Ellen? Is it a new logo? Or a new logo is part of it. But it's a larger brand name. Yeah. Are the questions for Ellen? Thank you very much. You're. Item number seven awards and recognition discussion. Actually before we go to that I thought you were going to present or ask about the ad. I was going to do it with that with the events. Okay. Good. I will move on. I actually think the awards and recommendations me and that Ellen. So I'm going to pick that up. I think this just came out of a conversation that I had with Dave. Dave, do you want to actually take this and kind of talk about your vision for kind of or we've been talking about just trying to reward folks? So, you know, back in the day, there used to be the city would give a series of awards to citizens that went above and beyond volunteering to, but among those were also to certain best in class businesses. And I just wonder, I mean obviously, that would be our scope. We don't need to get into residential awards. But do we wanna look into any type of program for business recognition? I mean, it's certainly something the city used to do. I have no idea what the process was to solicit nominations or winners. You know, it's a dicey, but I'm sure we could figure that out or what thoughts you might have. But that's just the, I just thought it'd be something that we ought to talk about. Do you remember what, it like a plaque or a recognition, something like that, if they were to? Yeah, but it was some publicity to it. I mean, the award itself was a plaque or a certificate or something like that, but it was announced and it was, you know. And it was once a year. I was the only one. That's when they did the awards. And they did like a once a year. Like half the city, the state, half the state of the city was given out these awards. It was like design award. Yeah. Yeah. And they would give, you know, a voluntary award of the whatever. But I mean, it was a one-one-seer thing, and I do think they have a flat business, if I recall. Did they can put up in their business or something to say I was the greatest business of the year? A digital batch. I was going to say, you mean instead of a plaque, maybe you could do a vinyl thing because goes on the store for more. Yeah. Yeah. That might be easier to have. I mean, I think it's how did you guys, how, how did you pick winners and losers? How, what was No, I have no idea what the process was. Yeah, no, no, no. I mean, there were less businesses. There were less businesses. I mean, it was, right, I think at the time. I mean, I don't know, I don't need their Dave, but I think there were a lot less businesses and sometimes it came down to, I don't know, what's the new business? Yeah. I mean, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's a complicated, if you get just a little bit into the mechanics of how it works, it gets really complicated. Yeah, well, you just have to. Well, you could do it even. I would imagine some of it as sign awards, which we submit for, sometimes. They can be nominated, so the entire neighborhood could nominate. You could have a list of businesses that can, you're almost like your sweet 16 there. Yeah. sometimes they can be nominated so the entire neighborhood can nominate. You could have a list of businesses that can, you're almost like your sweet 16 there. Yeah, I mean you could say, you know, so as I thought about, you know, maybe you come up with three or four categories. That's new business. That's the, you know, best retail, best, you know, restaurant. restaurant. Yeah, best restaurant. Best brewery, that'd be fun. But no, I would not have that category. That might be good, but a little competition. You would solicit residents the community to nominate, to nominate, and then vote. So here are two categories or three categories of best new business. They're kind of like the beer, like the beer, just like the holiday, you know, the last voted on by the residents. Yeah, but you, yeah, I would say I would want to stay completely out of the decision in process. I would want it to be completely nominated and voted upon. Yes, because you're going to have to execute. But there's a group that I've been following for a little bit. I mentioned Shannon. Oh, I don't forgot. It's in New Orleans and it's an organization called Love Your City. And they recognize it's primarily business driven that they're trying to recognize businesses within the city. But I think you can extend it if the city wanted to extend it to contributing members of people that could do that as well. They may explicit, they have certain categories that they're looking to see how people or businesses are giving back into the city. And it can be in a variety of ways. That's it. They've got a whole bunch of things. That's the way to go. Otherwise you're going to pit businesses against each other, which I think is dangerous. Yeah. So it could be like who's making an environmental impact, who's making a supporting the arts impact, or you know, different kind of avenues on how you guys vision what you want it you know where you want to reward and it's less about hey you're a good business but it's more about your contributing back to the city. Oh, I get trademarked, but they have a gala. Yeah, too stuff. But that would be something you had to, you would have to have a selection committee. That's not, that's not a, never, that's not a everybody really. Everybody votes, yeah. Well, yeah, maybe, well, we've survived without something like this for years now, because it's probably been, it's probably been six or a year. But after I was doing, even just like highlighting different businesses throughout the year, like, and I'm not, I'm sure this is what you are doing, but like, I know you're making sure everybody's getting recognized at some point. So whether it's an event they're having or like, youth of black history month, like, I mean, I think we're doing a good job, like at least highlighting who's out there and what they're doing. And you know, taking it to the next level and trying to figure out how to award that, you know, it's maybe something we could look at. I mean, I really don't want to pit business against business. Yeah, one thing might be just, you know, ask the community, who are your favorite businesses? And you know, if a business gets 50 recommendations, then they get the little vinyl. I'm an AM&L favorite. I'm just, I'm looking for additional ways to elevate the businesses. For the residents, people thinking about our businesses. This is another reason to, you know. Yeah. Keep it top of mind. Yeah, this isn't really about a competition. It's more about recognition and getting something out there. Yeah. Yeah. I like that idea. Well, something, I mean, just kind of piggybacking off of the microgrants, like maybe we highlight like what people have done with the microgrant. Like, you know, so and so, put up a new sign. Well, I like that. You know, and just kind of, which I think we will do. Right. Who got the most creative with their own graph why we do this fun? Let's let's kind of noodle on that and I'd like to bring it back up for our next meeting But see if anybody can clarify a more Specific you know thing that makes sense. I mean, I think there have been a lot of real good points brought up. I mean, we're not going to solve it tonight, but I think none of us want to create competition between businesses. What we're really just trying to do is publicize and recognize. Yeah, lived everybody. Not a best of. Right. Yeah, some places I know and have done like best patio or best florals or you know for people that are doing outdoor things, especially when you know most of what we're so much of what we're focusing on is curb appeal and those kinds of things. So it doesn't matter whether you're a brewery or whether you're fiber or parts or you know it's Recognizing something that's everybody can do. Yeah, right. We'll bring it back up in a month I'm sure JJ will have a great idea Oh, my god, it's still refined But I mean that's also Ellen. I mean, I would appreciate any specific thoughts. Yeah, I mean, since it is going to fall, you know, and you guys have figured out how to mechanize it. How long ago were the over ones that you were talking about? Before my death. It was prepatric. You remember? Oh, yeah. I remember. So eight years, 10 years? at least eight or ten years. Half the city decided to city me. Yeah, I mean, and the last time I remember. So eight years, ten years? You were at least eight or ten years ago. You have to sit in the city, the city me. Yeah, I mean, and the last time I remember hearing it verbally was when we had to stay in the city, think at the elementary school. Okay, so it's been a long time. It's been at least ten years. And it was probably a very autocratic process for deciding, you know, where the, I have no idea how that was decided. I would think that part of it was probably a very autocratic process for deciding, you know, where the idea, I had no idea how that was decided. I would think that part of it was that we ran out of businesses like, yeah, sort of exactly. But we always have a citizen of the year, some of you contribute. Maybe I shouldn't ask the AEPA what they think. Yeah, oh, that's a good idea. I personally wouldn't view it as like competition as much as you sleep. Recognition. Recognition. And other than the playful competition, like, hey, we're going to get some of you people vote for us and you're going to go. My concern is that if one business always wins every time then you're going to have a good time. And I mean, how do you? Yes true. Yeah. We'll make it a part of the eligibility. Yeah, I guess you can do that. Then you have to do that. Well, we, we, as has been pointed out, we have a lot of opportunities to highlight things in the next 190 days. I mean, highlighting what people do with the micrograms. I think we've got a lot of things that we will be doing. I mean, if the little videos work, and we can pull those out, I love how I can extend those. I love how extend those. We can extend and continue to do that. It's just another way of recognizing those. Those are just the folks that gave comments into the annual reports. That's why they were chosen. And remember are the verge highlights of this as well? Are we doing another addition of the verge in Simpson? They said yes just before May, so conjunction. They said they were going to have them ready by the way. So we've got some highlighting going on. Okay. And yeah. All right. I can't keep up with Audrey on it. She's got stuff coming out. He's so fast. Thank you for indulging me on that. We will bring it up again next meeting. Next item, Ellen, a vent schedule. Yeah. We have a lot. events coming up at the time of the spring time. We have a lot of the next couple of months. We had our first thanks to Hummington Group Team. We had the first yoga and march on the town green. They are going to be the first Tuesday. I know we are doing April and May. I've asked if they wanted to do June since it's the very beginning of June and not hopefully crazy hot. They will definitely take a break July and August and come back hopefully. We are also, the city is working with fiber parts. We have finally found a solution for all of our vinyl banners from the Venns. We are having a free upcycle workshop at the Ebondale Arts Alliance on Sunday, the 23rd, during the farmers market time. Fiber parts we are paying to their instructors to come and run a workshop, upcycling all of our old banners. People can come in and make a tote bag out of old banners. So those are going to be really fun. They're going to have six sewing machines available there to help folks build their own. And I think it should be a fun free workshop from the city on that. So we're partnering with two art allowance and fiber parts on that one. We please mark your calendars for April 2nd. The state of the city will be at the Avalon Theater. We have working out all the details for that, but it should start about six. It should be a fun event. We've got some surprise musical guests wrapping up the event. So that'll be fun. Let's go to begin. It's Tateh coming. It's Tateh coming. I can't help it. It's six o'clock, 67. Okay. Um, Mr. John's music is hosting an Easter baby class at 3 p.m. on the Sunday the 6. They're going to have a large Easter bunny there and just a guy you can take pictures with. They're planning all sorts of stuff. So that will be a fun one. We can wind down his back. It's going to start April 13th. We have a break-a-band bird revolutionaries, I believe. We've got tire fire on May in May. And then we have Jesse Williams' band band and she's a blues singer young, old man blues singer that's gonna be in June so we've got those those are on the books exciting again. What's her name? Jessie Williams. Jessie Williams band. She's a mountain mama from North Georgia. Ro roots all over the place. And the blues, she's been like creative loves being listed as one of the best women in blues and guitar.com listers and up and coming. What's so amazing? Sorry fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. Fire. What kind of music are they? Kind of blue grassy So like that's my Yeah, they're gonna be high-end blue grass Then we have a couple of little comments we have a very busy day. We are a regional meetup for the Georgia Downtown Association. Is coming here, they're going to the March 16th? April 16th. From 10 to 2 we're going to do a walking tour and show them all that's going around in town. Take them out to lunch somewhere, find a place for all of us to eat, give a little spiel about what we're doing. And then that afternoon, the ULI Urban Land Institute is coming to do a hard hat tour of the day all for 4 to 6. So is that open to the public? It's a ticketed event, but it is open to anybody that buys a ticket and doesn't like to be part of the presentation, which I can probably arrange for you to get in. I'm very interested in attending the tour. I'm not interested in making any kind of presentation. If you show up, it's very hard for me to imagine. They're not going to call on you, but I will see if I can get you to get it. Anybody that wants to go this? Do you say 4 to 6? The ULI tour is yes. The hard-hired tour, 4 to 6, the Georgia Downtown Association. Regional cleanup is 10 to 2. We love any and all of you to join this if you like. Have you lots of fun? So that's kind of nice. Then we have gospel hope churches bringing back the Easter egg hunts to the town of Green at 10 a.m. on the 19th of the Saturday before Easter. And then we get to the wedding hour walk. So we had a great Thanksgiving session with our marking and coming. Yeah, just wish there were a way to get the word out about the art and one one. Oh gosh, I happened to have an idea for us. Oh, imagine that. The caterish is actually, they were purchased by App and Media and App and is adding a print edition to the caterish, which they're starting out April, May, and June with a monthly, it's actually gonna be mailed to 7500 homes as well as have stands and the city hall is gonna be a little stand rate to pick one up. This is their map, they say it's delivering to 30030, which we know is to cater 3002 and 3003303. Oh, wow. Which is, of course, the ones exactly with the people coming in that we're seeing in the place where AI data. So I'm proposing that we bump up our budget slightly from marketing from last year. It still remain all within our budget. We're just kind of reallocating that I believe. To add, get the back page ad for the first three editions of this print key. But we can change the ad, right? Because if in the June edition, it would make sense to advertise the art in one wall. So, Mark's April will definitely be wine and artwork. May could be something else. It could be, you know, visit Avandale. We're still at Ben Shoplok all that kind of thing. We can wind down at dates. There you go. That's all right. So we have the opportunity for that. Plus we'll get digital space, a banner on the website for those three months. Plus we'll get digital space, a banner on the website for those three months. Plus we get in two of their emails that go out weekly. The dish and four of the price. All for the low-low cost of. Last but not least, it is $3,3 dollars. So I'm all in. I feel like we get a chance to be on the back, the big back page, which is the best. You know, need more money allocated because if you don't need more money allocated in marketing, I don't think we even have to vote on it. I think we can move it around within our existing budget. I'm supportive of doing it. I don't know if anybody else wants to be on the other side. I mean, if it's in them. We have energy fun. We're here. That you've got to get. Yeah, come back. We can. Come back. We're happy, Alan. Yeah. I know. I really really want to get the digital and the email and that I was really excited. So I'm going to hear more of that. I'm going to here more than that. We are...why didn't our walk just a quick update with this? We meshed with... ...Tajani folks, the new market, that is an old folk-worn market. Today are very excited to procure the wine for us this year, because they have a really interesting wine selection, and they want the opportunity to introduce themselves to their avenue of business. The Tijani Favre? They are going to set up a tent at the town green chicken and be one of the businesses. We are going to invite the Dale to also businesses to be pouring stations instead of at the town green as well to introduce themselves. Many new businesses that don't have a physical space that are in the downtown that are coming. So we had a great meeting with them yesterday. I think they're gonna be a really good partner on our line. So we're excited about that. We and I just did a foreign station. We, the pouring agreements will go out this week. And we're looking at right now. think we're going to last year if you remember. We had originally set our goal at 300 tickets and we sold 320 tickets and shut it down. We're going to order more glasses this year. We're going to order less wine this year. I don't know. Like quite as many bottles of wine upstairs. And we're looking at ways to repurpose that wine that we have upstairs if we have enough. We're going to maybe find it a new home on the wine in our walk this year so that it can be used. But I think things are going well. We're also looking at potentially getting some petty calves and longer golf carts shuddly things that can drive people around and not that shuttle that we never really saw. So we're getting, we're moving along with that. Three seven, three seven, ten. And did you tell did you say how many tickets we're gonna sell? Oh sorry I think I'm shooting for 400. Okay I'm gonna shoot you some more. Okay. Jenna says more. Okay. Which I think maybe we'll see. So three to seven on May 10th. So if we do these ads I got to get everything up and running by Friday. Which is good because we've already got big ticket. We'll just reuse that. Easy to do. So we're launching ticket sales Friday. Friday. Well, I think it will drop on the 20th is the first edition. So yeah. OK. That's cool. I'm wearing art. And then Wigwag is going to continue on there moving to May 31st. And we're working through the city requirements on that making sure they can get everything done. Are they gonna be over by little three? The Washington, they did a black party on Washington. On the globe side, right? I think that's it. Shannon, it's done. I have a question when she was talking about the hard hat toward the day. This would have been more of a development update. Question I apologize bad timing, but are they dancing any opening dates, potential opening dates for the restaurants? No, I think they'll talk to us next time about that. I mean, I think we're looking at August. Early August would be my guess based on kind of the build out schedule, but that's me looking at their construction schedule. Okay. Thinking that's when, what's most reasonable? Okay. So not if, Andy, you've got a couple of folks that are getting ready. Yeah. Oh, yeah. We have Inzo, Japanese restaurant. This should be opening, they're trying to open by the end of the month. So I get close. And then once we get through health, we'll have a bagel shop that'll be across from Ly leaves. And I so permits for them so that I'm going to back back. Yeah, I love bags. I'm from New York. I will bet it's so awesome. As we think about the businesses, we did a feature you'll see in the newsletter or the AVE on the error as it will take article about them and their new relaunch. We also did Mint, mobile, Mint, the mobile detailing, the looks they're nice little, let's say you love Avendale. Yeah, that little mural mural on the inside. we did all the thing to shut it down. We had a bunch of stuff. Why didn't our walk is in there? We could wind down this in there. Lots of stuff. So that's all for the hard copy newsletter. This kind of copy. Our copy of this, I heard should be coming soon. Well, thank you all very much. You guys shout out to the marketing committee, because we need a general public opinion. How are you going? What's going on, Paul? Any public comment or question on any of our agenda items? The micro-variants, are you going to list all those that were awarded the grant? Some place will easy access. They are listed right now. They'll come out in the newsletter. And then once that lunches, we will be pushing it out. Where are you listed now? They're just looking at things. They're not listed yet. They're coming out and then we're just getting the newsletter out there. So now we work on getting that. I think it's good publicity. There we have. And this is who got it and watch out for their changes and progressions. Yep. No? We will. Can we promote that on Explore Avenue? Yes. So you'll put them on explorer avenue. We can you go? Can we promote that on the Explore Avenue? Yes. So you'll put them on Explore Avenue. We can also probably still do a new splash on the City website as well. Yeah, I'll just give it a big bar. Thank you. Oh yeah. Yeah, we won't put it out there. Yeah, it's the granite agreements that they're signing basically give you all the rights to do anything. I have to finish that first. We need to finish that first. Thank you. I'll go ahead and comment. I said finish that first. Hurry. It's okay. They're not going to finish that first. We need to finish that first. Yeah. Thank you. Okay, come and appreciate it. Oops. I said finish it. Hurry. It's okay. They're not going to come. Okay. I don't want to. Do I have a motion to adjourn? I don't want to. Thank you, Lisa. Have a second. Thank you, Andy. All in favor? Aye. Once again, the vote to adjourn is unanimous. Thank you. Peter's control for police tonight. Do you want a piece of it? Yeah, yeah, I just want to say that. The vote to adjourn is unanimous. Thank you. Peter Schultz. Do you want to be a part of this? Yeah, that's right. I just need to be right. ATG.
