Welcome to the Town of Frazier Board Meeting recap. Your quick and comprehensive update on the latest decisions impacting our community. In this episode, we're covering the May 21st, 2025 Board Meeting. Let's get into it. The meeting began with roll call and the approval of both the agenda and consent agenda, which included the May 7th meeting minutes and the monthly Treasurers report. Up first, the board unanimously approved Resolution 2025-8, awarding a Business Enhancement Grant to the Frazier Valley Center for the construction of dumpster enclosures. The grant includes conditions that a site plan be submitted and approved by town planning staff, and that the front enclosures not interfere with required parking. The board also requested that the trash enclosures all be located in the rear of the building, if possible. A potential third enclosure related to a dispensary dumpster may be added later with funding amended up to a maximum of $25,000 if needed. The board then received a detailed financial report and operational review of the drop, phrase-shores-trashcycling Center. The update highlighted increased service costs, a slight drop in revenue, partially attributed to the state's ban on single-use plastic grocery bags and ongoing maintenance expenses. Staff shared ideas to improve financial performance, including better donation access and expanded marketing for the pay-as-you-throw bag system. Composting was also discussed, though space and infrastructure constraints remain a challenge. Next, the board accepted the resignation of DDA Chair Laurie Hannan, who moved outside the district and is no longer eligible to serve. The DDA appointed Parks Thompson as the new chair and Tiffany Gatesman as vice chair. Rather than immediately filling the vacant seat, the board voted to wait for the DDA appointments in October when two additional seats are set to expire. The board also approved the appointment of Beth Namm to the Public Arts Committee. Beth, a passionate supporter of the Arts and Murrow Festival host, fills the committee's 11th and final seat. Looking ahead, the board discussed priorities for a future meeting with the Grand County Board of Commissioners. Topics include updates on the Frazier Parkway, Open Lands, Child Care Funding, EMS Building, and Transparency around lodging tax allocations. Town staff then provided a robust capital projects update key highlights include major progress on on the Clayton Court utility project, sidewalk improvements set to begin in June, ADA upgrades to Town Hall, and bid activity for Frazier Historic Church renovations. The board also gave the green light to remove heated sidewalks from the Clayton Court design due to utility conflicts and high costs, opting instead for traditional sidewalks with possible radiant heaters provided by adjacent property owners. Additionally, the board received positive news that the Frazier Valley Housing Partnership has awarded a $4.75 million grant toward the St. Louis Landing Housing Development. They've also been invited to apply for nearly $13 million in state affordable housing funding, which could support an additional building and increase overall affordability. Other updates included bus stop relocations, stream health monitoring, and a video preview of the new Find Your Flow Tourism campaign largely funded by the local tourism board. To wrap things up, the board voted to cancel the June 18th meeting due to scheduling conflicts. That's all for this week's Frazier Board meeting recap. Thanks for listening.
