Sorry. That's okay. Okay. We'll just make sure that we have it online. Okay. Thank you. proceed. Thank you. Thank you. Good evening. Thank you for having me. My name is Lee Harrison. I am the co-chair of the African-American Community Initiative. Also known as ACI. And we are a health equity initiative of San Mateo County behavioral health and recovery services. And we're one of nine health equity initiatives. We're supported by the behavioral health and recovery services Office of Diversity and Equity and funded by the Voter Approved Mental Health Services Act. Our purpose, should I go through all of this? And should I just tell you? OK. All right. I am very happy to have been a co-chair and involved with the African American Community Initiative for probably 14 years now. Our mission and purpose is to be a resource for information, support, navigation, and equity and advocacy efforts in San Mateo County's health system. It's not only mental and behavioral health, and the difference between the two is mental health is one thing. We call it behavioral health because it also includes emotional health and it includes substance use disorders and whatever other things may be challenging or troubling to families in our communities. We do outreach, education, presentations such as this. We will do presentations and provide support and information anywhere in the community where we need it. One of my challenges is that not enough people know we exist. AACI has two main events every year, and we've participated many others. We have an annual Black History Month events and celebration in February and for the last couple of years, we've done it East East side prep here at East Palo Alto and we have a June 10th event coming up which I am very proud of and I say that because this year we've expanded and grown we are supported by a number of collaborative partners the NAACPP, voices of recovery, San Mateo County, and other organizations are joining us to do more outreach, education, community, and connections in our area. And typically at our events, we have anywhere from 20 to 30 resource tables, which include community-based organizations, San Mateoatil County agencies, and others. We also support and collaborate with other organizations that do events such as SoulStrol. In any place else, we're invited to be. We think it's very important for our community to know we exist. We think it's really important for our community to be educated and informed about behavioral health issues. Anything that may trouble or prevent challenges for families as far as well being and primary health as well as emotional mental health and behavioral health. We have a huge health system in San Mateo County and I do dare say it's one of the best that I know of. We are known as leaders nationwide in the number of programs. And as partly due to the fact that this is such a resource rich county. I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have. And I also would like to ask for your help connecting with the East Palo Alto community. We just don't see enough people. We had about 150 people at our Black History Month event. We are hoping to double that for our June 8th event, which will be on June 21st, again, at East Side Prep, here at East Palo Alto. I mean, I personally took fly-as to our senior center. We just didn't see enough of our seniors. In fact, very few came to our black history month event. Yeah, the weather was iffy. But mostly the event was indoors anyway. We would really like to make those connections and get out in the community and be wherever people want us in need of us to be. It is very difficult to navigate the health system in San Mateo County. It can be, it can appear to be difficult. There can appear to be a lot of barriers. One of the things that we're here for is to help navigate that and to be advocates. If someone were to call me and tell me they're trying to get an appointment and they were told it's going to take them two months, I say nay, nay, nay. You know, that's unacceptable. And I'm here to help navigate. I've been working for the county for 16 years. So there's not a lot of doors that I'm not aware of. And when I suppose to have any wrong doors, wrong doors Now wherever people go and ask for help they're supposed to get the support that they need to get connected to the resources that they've made I also do a lot of work in equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging So I'm on a number of committees throughout the county And I'd here to serve you and this community which I also live in. By the way, I've lived here at East Palabato since 2004. So this is my home which I love dearly and do everything I can to support. Do you have any questions for me? I do. I have a question. So what other organizations have you partnered with in the community? Because like we did a senior health fair, so definitely want to keep you in the loop with that. We did that in the fall last year. So if we can connect you to any other people that are here, that maybe that's the gap. So what other organization have you have you worked with here in the community? Honestly, the ones that I mentioned and their others, as I said, I will go wherever you know we're invited to go. We've done presentations with St. James Church in San Mateo. If I had been invited to a community event here, I will show up. We have a basic committee of over two dozen people that we're trying to train and get, get trained to do more work. You know, I have a coach here. Most of the time right now I don't, so it's just me. But we do have members who are equally interested and passionate about our mission and vision, and I'm training them to go out to be places where I cannot be. I can tell you, I can promise you that if I'm invited, I'll be there. We have county resources not only for our initiative, but for all the health resources in San Mateo County. And I have connections with all the departments, or human services department, or health services department, or county health vans, and all the other resources. Be glad to be there. My contact information is at the back of the presentation there. And I'm easy to reach by email, easiest by email, but also my phone number. Also, it's down to no side to get hold of me. She has my personal self. So I'm readable. Just a skin I've known for probably close to 30 years, right? It's just the 90s. Yeah. So this is my community. Thank you. Any other questions for you? Is this like the AACHAC? No, AACHAC now known as BACHAC. Right. Is a very, very area community health advisory council. Right. We are partners in collaborating with them. As long as I've been around, I'm also a member there. So I've been collaborating with them for probably 15 years as well. I always table that their events, such as Souls, to all off to a good start, all of their events, you know, I'm there. Because they want to have our collaborative partners. Yes. I'm sure you know you're aware of the Dominion Hoskins, like History Museum and Carolyn Hoskins. And that's a question. Not? Well, I am ashamed to say. And we need to connect you if you don't. I'm ashamed to say I went for the first time this year. I was absolutely amazed that there's 22,000 square feet. You know, our history of culture there. We do partner with them. They did participate in our Black History Month event. And we hope to continue that partnership and collaboration. I don't know why we don't know they're there. I knew about it, but I hadn't gone. And I beat myself up for that, you know, for not getting there sooner, but it is a regular part of things that I promote now. I'm amazed I think we have every reason to be very, very proud of that. And I'm making every effort to partner with them and to let our community know about them. Did I answer your question? That's the beginning. And I haven't been aware of your organization, the African American, African American Community Initiative. And I'd like to be. I've been here since 55 when I was five. I give you thinking of all the folks that have come through here and the changes that our community has been going through these last 20 years and I've been here like so and how do we reach our seniors that are here? Like if I haven't and my own with my own mental health issues I'm a long-term care on bloodshed for the county and I'd like to see see even, I know we've had as many. And I was the president of St. Dussenthal, it's St. Francis Church, here in East Palo Alto, which my father started. And I'm looking at where our community is now. It's serving us. And community is a whole and how we can reach out to others in our community, especially our seniors. Well, thank you. I really appreciate that. We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from 1030 to 12. Most of the time it's a Zoom meeting. I have been diligently trying to find a place and a resource for us to get back away from zoo meetings more to having in-person meetings and hybrid meetings. So one of the places I reached out to is the senior center that we love to have a meeting there in collaboration with our spirituality initiative and do that in the community. We did it just about a year ago or Ravenswood gave us a room. So we had a dual meeting with our spirituality initiative. We bought in food, we met, we had our ACI meeting, and then we had lunch, and then we had the SI meeting. We love to do that more because we're a community initiative. One of the things that I've been complaining about is we do our meetings during the work day when people are working and busy and don't get a chance to participate. So I'm moving us towards not only having meetings in person but having meetings in the evening when people in the community have more of an opportunity to participate. So I invite everybody to join us for our monthly meetings. And also right now we're meeting every Thursday from 12 to one planning for our June teams event. And we'd also love to have the community participate in that. Sorry. Yeah. And one bonus we have for the community is that we offer stipends for community participation in our events. Not necessary, but we do respect people's time, and we do respect that their participation is meaningful for us. So that's one of the incentives that we are able to offer to the county. I have another question. So do you have, besides this presentation you gave us, do you have like any flyer or literature about your organization, just one page that kind of gives an overview of what the organization is and maybe we can get some of that information out to our community too, if you have that? We do. Sure. Our Office of Diversity and Equity kind of manages all the initiatives so I didn't have an opportunity to get to their office to pick up brochures. I can't send them out electronically along with flyers about our upcoming events for distribution. I can print them and I can deliver them, but you know if I can get them out by email that seems to have a better distribution point. What you have there is a distribution. I can print them and I can deliver them, but if I can get them out by email, that seems to have a better distribution point. What you have there is a presentation that I go out and do and I can do that electronically. I can do it in Zoom meetings. I just printed it for you, so you have a hard copy to take away. Thank you so much. We appreciate you. Any other questions? Yep, I would be in though, what is the source of your resources for doing things like what you're doing, giving stipends, whatnot? And the other question is considering what's going on in the US today as far as resources that are becoming unavailable, is that going to have an on either San Mateo County, which I'm sure it is or your organization? Yes. We have been funded through the Mental Health Services Act, which was a voter approved initiative in California back in 2006. Last year that was changed to the Behavioral Services Act, Governor Newsom and some other folks brought about a change, Proposition 1, which is taking away a lot of our funding. Four things like community events outreach, early intervention type work, which is one of the reasons that I have been working hard to take our initiative in the direction of more collaborative partnerships and new funding sources in the community, such as our partnership with the NAACP. For our June 10th event, we partnered with Stanford. We got a grant from Stanford. Ms. Welfare's organization is the donor voices of recovery is a donor. So our initiatives are also donors. So we're finding alternative resources so that we have more funding because as I understand that our funding for community events and some of our reach is going away on June 30th, 2026. So I'm working to make sure that we we have collaborative partnerships and funding to keep our work. As far as the stipends go that's provided by the county of San Mateo. I hope we get to keep that, but at least to June 2026, we're good with the funding because it's already been appropriated. Okay, thank you. Thank you. I would just like to thank Mr. Harrison for the presentation and we've been talking for some time and when he mentioned he wanted to reach out to the senior center, I thought it would be good to do a presentation to the advisory committee. And then we could push forward on that. I think it would be good to do something there for that for the senior center. And then Lee is quite committed and concerned about, you know, health equity and diversity and all of those other areas. And if he says he's going to do something, he will do it. I've known him for several years when I was working with Mattel Lodge and I attended those meetings faithfully, but then as I retired and got involved in other things, we reconnected, I've never really left, but I just wanna commend you Lee for the work that you've done and I know that you've been trying to retire out of it, but you know what? I appreciate the fact that you stayed on and you're still committed to it until you can get someone to feel your shoes, which will be kind of a big thing too, but I just want to say thank you for your presentation this evening. And I think if you would like all the advisory, court committee, I could be the contact person and that way I can get the information to our Madam President, rather than several different people. And plus Mr. Baker also, so you can give me the information and I'll give it out. Well, thank you for that. And it is greatly appreciated. Yes, I do plan to retire in August. However, I don't think they're going to let me go. Our time, our regular work, but I've been asked to stay on as a coach here. And to mentor other people to come again to doing the work, which I am more than happy to do. So thank you. Yeah, thank you so much. This has been great. And we'll just make sure that any, because we have some summer activities coming up with the seniors and things that's going on. We just have to make sure that you're in the loop that we get the information out there and share with the community whenever we have some time, some facing to the community to make sure that you're involved. Through the chair. Through the chair. We have one public comment online. I don't know if you want to accept it at this time or continue on. Sure. If he's done. Sure. I find any. All right. I have Adrian here with their hand raised. Okay. Thank you, Mr. Lee. Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Adrian. Do you have a question for Mr. Lee? I have a question for all of you guys. This is Adrian Bryant and thank you for the presentation, Mr. Lee. I am very glad to see that you're here and I'm glad to learn of some of the resources that the county has for our seniors. Specifically, I'm a caregiver and I am just really trying to find some resources to help me to help the person I'm giving care to. And I would love for someone who knows me. This is Rutherford, Mr. Skinner. If you can forward this gentleman's contact information to me, I would be so greatly appreciative. One of the things I would like to ask, if we could please have this presentation presented at a city council meeting, not just with our senior center. I'm not sure that a lot of our residents are involved with the senior center. Some of you guys know the reason why, but I think it would be greatly appreciated if we can have this overarching arc for all of our citizens to be aware of this at least one. I'm sure there's others that we can have some resources to help our seniors and the seniors caregivers. So again, I'm respectfully asking that someone contact me to give me this gentleman's information so I can contact him to get a little bit more information about what the county or his organization has to offer me specifically some resources. Thank you so much. Thank you, Ms. Adrian. Is it okay if she puts her email address in the chat and we can make sure that she gets this presentation? That would go public I'll reach out to Miss Brian. You have a contact information. Yes. Okay. If you can make sure that she gets it. Thank you so much. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Thank you. It is perfectly okay to share my contact if anyone who requests it. Okay. That's a good idea. Through the chair, can staff ask a question? Absolutely. Just thank you for the presentation. I hope that we can connect with the Community Services Division to find out ways to help amplify what you're trying to do along with the senior advisory committee because we can be a resource in terms of facilities and you know different events that are going to be going on around the city to help to help the uh involve you in as well as know about that you're doing. For June 21st is your event held in East Palo Alto or somewhere else? On June 21st will be at East Side Prep in East Palo Alto. Okay. So, community services staff was made aware that the annual citywide Juneteenth event is planning plan for that day as well. For the same day. On June 21st. Oh no. Steve, that's one of the problems. Yeah, we're glad you were here. You need to talk about either collaboration or just find ways to work together to get this done because we don't want to analyze that for us of a beautiful day, potentially. So collaboration would be great. Okay, yeah, we'll reach out. Thank you. You're welcome. I appreciate it. Okay. Okay, thank you. See how that works collaboration. Yes, I love that. Anything else? No, thank you so much thank you we appreciate you sharing thank you and Ms. Brian will thank you for having. Yes thank you. Thank you. I think someone else had the hand up. Did you have your hand up? I think I'll start her hand. No, she didn't. No, I was just great. I was just happy to see Mr. Harris in there and happy to get online. Thank you. I was giving my claps since I wasn't there. OK, thank you. OK, so we are on item new business 6B. So we wanted to talk about, we know Miss Ola Augman has not been here in a long time. And also Lorraine Haumann. So, Ms. Ruth Holmes? Holmes, okay. Ms. Ruth, vice chair. Would you like to speak about that or? The reason for me bringing up chair, sister Lorraine Holmes, she passed away recently and she was an alternate for a long time. she was a member of one of the chair people on the senior advisory board. Then she. was an alternate for a long time. First, she was a member of one of the chairpeople on the senior advisory board. Then she became an alternate. Then she, when she became ill, that's when she stopped being an alternate for the committee. And I feel that, you know, something, we can honor her in some way. The chair are we asking for approval or are you all going to discuss? You to discuss what should we like to do? So what is what do we normally do? Have we done anything in the past? Or what do they because we also want to honor Miss Oloh Ogwin who's been a long term serving member here and I understand that she's gonna step away But we also want to be able to honor her so what normally happens That's good question. We have not had a process or any honoring during the time of my tenure here. So I can check in with our city clerk or I can ask any former committee members or council members who may have some knowledge or history of that. Otherwise we can create what we'd like to do to represent or to recognize Mrs. Augment and Mrs. Holmes. Yes, Ms. Donna. Yes, Madam. Here. I think that it's overdue for honoring Mrs. Augment for her services to this community. I've talked to her many times and she's always expressed wanting to be here but because of her health. and not being able to get out that, you know, her heart is here. But due to our bylaws or policies that are in place, you can only miss so many meetings. And I think that, I know you've spoken to her, Mr. Baker, and she certainly ready to pass the baton. And I think that we could just do something small like present her with some flowers, a certificate of recognition. And maybe just have a small gathering to show our appreciation for the time that she was actively involved. All those number of years, I do it when I was much younger and I'm sure some have known her longer than me. But we give our flowers while we can when the person is here rather than after the fact. So I'll be willing to work with anybody on here that wants to plan something. Same thing for Lorraine Holmes, the same words fit her. And we could do it the same way of, you know, certificate of appreciation. Something similar, but different days. And then see if we can get her daughter Cindy, maybe to accept, you know, the recognition for her late mom. So those are my comments. Thank you. Isaac. To the chair. I stopped by the CMIS's augment earlier this afternoon just to see if she could come and she'd love to be here. And you know, I realized what the health issues because I haven't facing my own health issues. But as I'm looking around at so many of us, as we get older, we need to be as active and encouraged to be as active as we possibly could be. I'd be, and I talked to her today and said, if I can, I'll bring you. And I think she'd love to come. She had family there with her, even. And I think we need to, if there's, I don't know what to do at this point. But I, like I said, it's when you kind of, and I've been looking at, and I'll actually mention that for the places that I have to monitor, senior facilities and stuff like that, so often when people stop being active, they stop doing everything. And if there's anything I could do, just to, I mean, will all be gone one day, but while we're here, I think we need to keep trying and get our seniors that are at home alone out doing whatever we possibly could do, just as we're part of the senior. I mean, would you want to set at home by yourself? And if we reached out to you, I hope you'd be even though you'd say well, maybe I can't come, but you'd be willing to at least try. And that's how we begin that, that to make that work. I think what is technology? Yeah. I was going to ask what is actually her impediment? No, no. We can't share that. I don't think we can share that. I just want to make sure that I can volunteer to. I can drive. If it's not a teacher in bed, then we ought to be transported over here. I think. Would it be possible to even have her join the meeting remotely? No. No, okay. That was the question. That was the question. Yes, Donna. And I think, Mr. Rainier, you had a question, right? Ms. Rainer? She had a question. Okay. I would just like to say at this point in time, she's missed too many absences and I'm trying to be compassionate and understanding, but she has missed too many meetings. If you look at, and it's time, I know she's in her late 80s and I'd love for her to be here too, but we should have addressed this a long time ago. So I had asked about the Zoom meeting when I first came on because I was concerned about attendance. We're never going to have a full board if we the things get in the way of our members and they can't be here. So because of age and she's okay with leaving, it's not like, it's just a process, that's the bottom line. It's a process. So now we want to honor her for her years and That's all I can say we need to honor her and then we have a full board and now we're still recruiting I don't know how many the number can go up to but at any rate. That's what we are now so Miss Rainer To the chair and each one of you that are here, there shouldn't be a problem given a little respect to the one that has labored. And you can do it by having the group, you know, one, one, one, one, just one particular event to honor whoever it is. And it has been done. Not with you all here, but working on along with the other groups that I work with. Because we, it made the recipients, it made them feel so good to know that we recognized them for the service that they had done. And I think that we should do it. And I agree with a certificate. Flowers is good, but flowers vanish. But to have something that they could or trophy or certificate or something that they can look up and remember that this came from us. I think that's remarkable. And that second male in the next thing, the second person that you mentioned, what was the name? Renee Ola, okay, Lorraine. And that last name, H.O. Okay, yeah, and I know her will. Okay. And yes, that's all I want to say. And I think it's a good idea, Madam. Okay, so what I'm hearing is um Miss Donna um we need to work with you be willing to work with someone to do something and I mean I'm willing to to help figure something out to do for Miss August. So my question would be though if we were to plan something say maybe at the and I'm just on one out there. So that little room like with a wife in front of the YMCA, that little room over there to the left, say for instance if we did plan something there, is she able to get out or is it something that we would need to go to present to her? Is my question do, does anyone know? No, Madam Chair. In the past, I've been on the committee for quite a while. What they did in honoring people, they did it during our senior advisory meeting. In other words, they had them to come and they did the presentation during our meeting session. Okay. That's a good idea too. Boo chair to vice chair, Cossack's point. Mrs. Augment has stated she does want to step down from the committee. However, she still would love to attend the meeting. So the conversation about transportation is still alive and well if someone was able to get her here. The city no longer has a van driver that can do drive in the evening time. Currently, we are going to be going to seek that recruitment shortly, but we need to figure something out to if she would like to still attend as committee member, Stevenson said, to still be active, but not on the actual committee. So she would still like to just attend. And yes, if she wanted to attend meetings via Zoom, she could also do that just not as a member. And yes, the plan was to hopefully honor her in a senior advisory committee meeting. Thank you, Vice Chair. Okay, thank you. So how about two things? So that conversation of transportation is still on the table. Okay, so if you incorporate volunteer potentially to be able to do that to get her here, that will be great. And my recommendation is could we do something to honor her at the next meeting, which is in May. May? May, okay. sounds sounds like Committee Member Brother, we're trying to form a small subcommittee. And Committee Member Smith, who is online, but can't be present due to the rules of the Brown Act, would also like to be a part of that subcommittee. Okay, so that's one, two, that's two people right now. Two people, okay, and that's enough. Okay, awesome. Thank you. Okay, so we plan to honor Ms. Ola Augman at the next meeting, the May meeting. And then so we need to talk about Miss Lorraine Holmes when we would like to honor her if we could put something together for maybe for June. Well, let's put it out there to everyone and everybody has an opinion. So do you think we should honor Miss Ola Ogman and Miss Lorraine Holmes at the same meeting, what does everyone think? If I can get your opinions on that, I say no. I would say no. But I mean, I would like to have everyone else's opinion. To the chair, may I ask, should I ask, but I would like to know why I wouldn't you want to do it that way. Would that? I guess my thought is one is honoring someone's life that's passed on. And then in another one is honoring somebody's legacy that is still present. So I think it would be, I mean, we could, but that would be my reasoning. That's all. Because I mean, would it take the a joyous occasion, turning to a sad occasion? I mean, I don't know, but I would like to have everybody else's opinion. Well, maybe I'm I'm sorry again. Maybe I'm still not listening. I didn't hear correctly. Are we honoring someone has passed on? Oh, then that's a different question. That's a different thing. Oh, okay. So I would agree that that would be separate. All right. Then that's all I need. Yes. That's that's a clarification. Not a problem. Yeah. Miss Lorraine home. She's she's passed on. She has passed on. Yes. Yes. I'm not sure. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Where did you have us? I was just going to suggest that thank goodness. We don't have a plethora of people passing on, leaving us or whatever. And I think we can easily afford the time and attention to give to a meeting for each one individually. That's what I would suggest. OK, so the recommendation, and I guess we can take a vote on this. I would suggest that we would do a the May meeting to honor Miss Augment and then the June meeting to honor Miss Lorraine. So in honoring Miss Lorraine, I would think Miss Ruth can you and I work with you. I work with both of you on each one. Yes, Lorraine Holmes. And then we can maybe get her, her living daughters or whoever was close to her, then we could present them with, we need to determine what we would like to present them with. Yes, okay. Thank you. Clear? All right. Staff, we'll reach out to committee member Rutherford to form the subcommittee and confirm plans for May 2025. Thank you. Okay. So item number 60. Sorry, excuse me, through the chair. We have a hand raised. Mrs. Bryant has her hand raised. Thank you. I was just about to use that chat that usually is not open. I was gonna ask that you please take public comment before you vote. What I wanted to say was I do agree with some of the committee members that I feel like each of these ladies should be honored individually, separately. When it's passed on, the other one is simply not able to participate because of health reasons. And I'm also going to suggest that you do this during a city council meeting, where they can be honored by more people show up at council meetings than unfortunately your senior advisory committee meetings. If you want to do something separately, that would be great too. One of the things I remember about Mother Augment is that I believe she used to be the parliamentarian. This is the one committee that actually has a parliamentarian and I am currently serving as a parliamentarian of the National Council of Negro Women. I would love to have a conversation with her about being a parliamentarian. I also want to thank you guys for even taking the time to acknowledge these people. I look to each of you guys and some of you guys normally personally, you've heard me tell you I'm so proud, I'm so tickled that you are still out here doing what you need to do. You are a beacon for me and hopefully I will continue to be involved like you guys are. But again, to just bring it back, I do feel like we need to honor these women individualies and I do feel like we need to do it at a full city council meeting, whatever that takes. And however I can be of help, let me know. And I hope that you will consider that. Thank you. That is the only comment, public comment. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry, Miss Ryan. We're trying to... I'll be forgetting to look at the raise hands. I apologize for that. But I think that's definitely something to consider is to maybe honor them here at the Senior Advisory Committee meeting and maybe if you could look into potentially, you know, honoring them unique council meeting I think that would be that that's definitely appropriate. Thank you for that suggestion. Okay. Okay. Okay. So item number six. See the senior prom. Um, we don't have many minutes, but I guess we'll. My thoughts on that we need to, um, we said we were going to form a committee for the senior prom. I think the date was September 26th at the four seasons, so we need to start thinking about since this is March I want to give us as much time as possible to be able to plan, prepare, tickets, pricing, all of that. So I think we need to eventually if people can think about at the next meeting, a cadence of meetings to start meeting and talking about the senior prom and entertainment and themes and that kind of thing. And if I recall, who was going to be a part of the subcommittee for the senior prom? I think it was Ms. Rooz, Mother Teresa. Were you on there? Who else was it? Okay, okay, Donna, okay, good. And then if you know of any community members that would like to participate, it would be great. But starting in maybe next month, let's start getting a cadence of maybe meeting once a month and then go maybe once every I mean once twice a month and then we'll meet like the last month probably every every week last last time we did on on Fridays I think at like 10 or 11 o'clock which seemed to to work and we're gonna get some of those meetings in person if we possibly could because it's good to be able to get together. So that was what my thoughts about that. Any other thoughts about the senior prom? No. Okay. Thank you. Through the chair. Yes. Are we confirmed for the 926 at the four seasons? Is that the confirmed? Yes, it's confirmed. Yes, it's confirmed. Can you move please repeat the members of the subcommittee? the and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and. Got it. Okay. Cool. Okay. And I've been trying to get to this. And I still don't. I don't think we're going to have enough time. That means we've been making progress. To talk about the goals and action items from the age-friendly report. If you can go back and look at, I'm going to give homework. So if we can go back and look at the last meeting, the City of East Palatol did the age-friendly action plan. So they worked very hard on this document. So if you can go through, it's six domain, six or seven domains. So it's like transportation Oh, how many? Nine. Oh wow. Nine. Okay. So for Look at each domain and the action items. If we can come up with each one of us can come up with one action item within that domain and then we're going to narrow it down to three because I feel that as a committee instead of just meeting you know with it's all about action and marching towards a goal. So we need to have goals for 2025 we're three months in well now four months in so I would like us to be able to have goals and then that way that'll keep us in alignment with what we're marching towards for 2025. And then, or if we have more, then we'll maybe roll those into 2026. But your homework is for each domain, I want each person to come up with one actionable item for a goal for 2025. And then at the next meeting we'll review them and then we'll be able to make a decision and condense down to maybe three or four. If that's okay. Question. Question? Is that planned on the city website? Okay. Yes, and you also should have received a booklet as every other member received we can get you a booklet. No worries. Okay. I missed last meeting that's a random booklet. Okay no problem. Yes. Miss Teresa did you have a question? No. I just agree with what you say. Thank you. Does anyone else have any questions about that? Can I do I need to clarify? Yeah, I'm thinking goal in which way? What would you like? What would we like to see? Or what would you really like? That's the whole, what hope what would we like to see what change at an actual change that we can try to this this committee can make within within the city for 2020 for the seniors let me just give you an example like okay like it domain eight is community support in health services. What's the date she does? Maybe that could be like we just found a partner organization, but provide valuable resources such as an area agency on aging or something like that. But just like the gentleman, he just mentioned he wants a partner from Ikea. That might be in the community support and health services. Just something that's actionable that we can do that we can partner that we can help kind of move help the city move the vision forward because these are these are whenever they did this this document. These are all things they they interviewed senior citizens and I'm sure some of you were there within the focus groups. So these are the action items that seniors in our community they wanted to see. They were part of they interviewed them and they wanted to see some of these things implemented within the city. the chair. Do we know how many seniors are in our community and where they might be? We have the database. Well, how often even have we looked at the database and confirmed that that is still with us. It's still with the support. Court brought it up. I mentioned to the city staff. I mean, own the information and that is something and maybe that could be an action item with technology that we need to put on there. You know, I think it's very I think it's very important, but I mean we got to have people to be able to do the work. We don't own the data. The city staff they own the data, but we're going to be able to have to support them and maybe it might be another CRM system. I don't know. That's right. And through the chair, I mean, I think that the last time. Mr. Robert. I can't think of the last name now. Mr. Robert Jones was here. They were talking about also collecting data on the seniors here in the community. So I think that should be a goal. So without getting too a lot of detail tonight, I mean, we know what our assignment is and we'll have time to bring back some information. Thank you. Okay. Thank you. So I don't have anything else. Any food share? Yes. So just a point to make we are approaching. We are in budget season right now. So if there was anything that would have a cost associated to it now would be the time to do so. So please if you do your homework please get it to us as soon as you can if you can get it to us before the end of the month that'd be ideal because I can factor that into next year's budget so that we can properly address it. Okay, that's good to know. Thank you. To the chair. I'm a county on butzman. I don't get paid a dime. I would do this for free as well. Reaching out to as many of our seniors as we possibly could in any way we could. I think it's the right thing to do. And I think even as I if one day I won't be my mind's not already right now. But I think I would appreciate it if someone did reach out to me and I've been trying to reach out to others here in our community that are isolated or alone. Understood. Okay. So let's move to item 7, which is any committee reports. We... that are isolated or alone. Understood. Okay, so let's move to item 7, which is any committee reports we have not. Item 8, any staff reports? Yeah, just so you all know, staff is taking a group of seniors to the Mexican Heritage Plaza. Friday for a tour, a guided tour and then a screening of the movie Song for Caesar in honor of Cesar Chavez Day. Committee member Fernandez and then also a couple of others have been distributing and letting the seniors know about this. We apologize for the late notice but you are more than welcome to join us on that trip When when is it? Oh, yes, it's that's Friday and It's Friday April 4th and we'll be leaving from the senior center and around 10 30 a.m. And returning At 3 p.m. Okay, so do we have a flyer? You have a flyer? So I haven't seen anything. Yeah, so yeah, well we'll get it to you all. No problem. Okay, Councilman, yeah, we've been working with Councilman, Ubrica and the group as well as to promote. Okay, awesome. Thank you. And I, yes, yes. I do have a copy, Ruben give it to me. I didn't bring it. I didn't think about it. And I have the list. Okay. Okay. Okay. To the chair. I mean, I mentioned that there was a contingency of people from East Palo Alto that marched in the Sacramento with Cesar Chavez. and I know I was on one of the buses that went down and got to actually shake hands with Cesar Chavez and took a picture. I've been looking for that picture and I was talking to someone just recently about it. We met them about five miles outside of Sacramento and he told you know as they were marching he asked everyone to to fall in line behind the group and marching and by the time we got into downtown, sack, where there were hundreds of people there. It was wonderful. And you think of what is the kid remember? Those are the type of things that, you know, I think it'd be great if you could even be a part of the day. Keep you. And now if I recall, isn't there's going to be some type of March on April 7th here in the city? If we could have that flyer too. It's one flyer that lists all of the activities or the period that they're looking to host. But yes, we can get that flyer. OK. OK, thank you. And I'll send that out to everyone. Okay, and so we need a motion to be able to adjourn the meeting. I have nothing else. We just need to move. All right, second. Sorry, I have moved by Rutherford, committee member Rutherford, and seconded by Skinner or Cassie. Cassie, okay, thank you Vice Chair. Thank you very much. Thank you everyone. you you
