Here's your recap of the Frazier Board of Trustees meeting held on February 19, 2025. The meeting commenced promptly at 6.01 pm with all trustees present. The Agenda and Consent Agenda, which included the minutes from the February 5th meeting and a letter supporting birth at Pass Avalanche Mitigation, were both approved unanimously. The Town Finance Director provided an update on the town's finances. Reserves in the general fund have decreased due to significant expenditures for St. Louis landing, engineering, and construction work. However, the town anticipates receiving substantial reimbursements, approximately $500,000 to $600,000 from the Department of Local Affairs for Infrastructure Grants. December sales tax collections were strong, showing a 5.68% increase compared to the same month last year. Revenue from short-term rentals also saw a boost, rising by 11.69% compared to January 2024, now accounting for 16% of the town's total revenue. The board also discussed and approved a resolution to adjust water and sewer rates. The volumetric water rates will increase while the quarterly service fee remains at $153. The new rates set charges at $1.77 per 1,000 gallons for usage up to 15,000 gallons. $3.53 per 1,000 gallons for 15,000 and 1 to 30,000 gallons, and $7.05 per 1,000 gallons for usage exceeding 30,000 gallons. Suer rates are also seeing a slight increase, with the quarterly charge rising from $137.50 to $148.50 to help cover future infrastructure needs, including plant maintenance and expansion costs. In other business, the board approved the conceptual design for the Frazier Bike Park, moving the project one step closer to construction. Avid Trails, the selected contractor for the Bike Park, presented updates to the original design, incorporating feedback from the town and stakeholders. The revised plan maintains the original footprint while enhancing user experience and accessibility, including features for adaptive riders. The park is expected to be a major recreational attraction for residents and visitors alike, with construction anticipated to begin this summer. As the meeting wrapped up, town officials shared updates on the St. Louis Landing Project. Pending final grant approvals, the town expects to move forward with phase one of the development, which aims to address local housing needs. Additionally, trustees discussed upcoming meetings with the Colorado Department of Transportation Representatives regarding Mountain Rail Service, as well as ongoing conversations with the local Chamber of Commerce about Frazier's role in regional economic development.
