Request to review an extension for the previously approved variance VA 3-22 and design review DR 10-22 for a 117 room for story hotel located at 5542 Bridge Head Road, northeast of the intersection of Main Street in Bridge Head Road, APN 037 440, 0269, and 037040. 0 0 0 2 7 7 Mr. Jose Cortez our senior planner. Thank you good evening chair vice-chair and planning commissioners. The next item on tonight's agenda is an extension for the previously approved variance of VA03-22 and designer view DR10-22 for a 117 room for story hotel. The property is located at 5542 Bridgehead Road and is bounded by a mix of uses including existing commercial agricultural land and undeveloped land. The site is northeast of the intersection of Main Street and Bridgehead Road. The 3.36 acre site is predominantly flat and undeveloped with the exception of paved roadways used by existing commercial on adjacent parcels. Like I mentioned before, tonight before you is a request for an extension. The request before you tonight is a request for an extension for the previously approved variants and designer view for 117 room for story hotel. The extension is about one year to the entitlement of the approved variants and designer view. If approved, the variance and designer view would not expire until December 5th, 2025, as part of this request, no changes are proposed to the application. A little background on December 5th, 2023, the City of Oakley Planning Commission approved a variance to allow for the hotel project to exceed the maximum height in the commercial district in order to develop the 54-foot 9-inch tall hotel building. A design review for floor plans, elevations, colors, and material details. Preliminary site plan and conceptual plans were approved under Planning Commission Resolutions 16-23. The variance and design review received a one-year entitlement period from its resolution approval date and therefore was originally set to expire on December 5, 2024. The applicant then submitted a written request for an extension on December 4th, 2024. As such, staff recommends the Planning Commission adopt the resolution approving the project titled Town Place Suites Extension, EXT, I'm sorry, Project Number EXT, 2025-01, as conditioned. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Cortez. So at this time we'll receive any questions from the Planning Commission. All right so I will open the public hearing and receive comments from the applicant. So sorry, the applicant had stated that they would be here, but I believe they were unable to make it. They are aware of the conditions of approval and did not contest any of the conditions. Thank you, Mr. Cortes. Okay, so at this time we'll receive comments from the public. There are no public comments that were received on this item, so we will not move forward with that. Are there any other questions? Are anybody have anything at this time I will close the public hearing and call for deliberation. So would any commissioner like to make a motion to adopt the resolution? I move to adopt the resolution. Yes sir. Your microphone. I move to adopt the resolution. I second this motion. Okay. I have a first and a second, so I'll call for a vote. All in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed, say nay. No pose or absention. This motion passes unanimously. So moving on, we'll move to item number five, the regular calendar. There are no regular calendar items, so we'll move on to reports. Item number six, any reports from staff members. Good evening, Chair of Reduce Gov. I share press and price members of the Planning Commission. I just have two quick announcements. On March 20, the Planning Division held the second public workshop for the City of Oakley Climate Action Plan. We had a pretty decent turnout, and it was a fun workshop. There was a lot of hands-on that went on there, and we had a good time. And just wanted to announce for the Planning Commission and the public the next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for right here at 6.30 p.m. on May 6th. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Strela. Item 6.2 reports from Commission members. Are there any reports from any of the commissioners? I also attended the Climate Action Workshop. It was very, very interesting. There are many people with a lot of input, great ideas, and a lot of discussion of how up in the air, a lot of standards are right now, and how we have to be agile for them. It's very interesting. Any other reports? Do any commissioners have any requests for future agenda items? All right, so there being no further business this meeting is adjourned
