Good evening. I'm a now called and want to let me 20, 25 meeting of the Board of Superbasses to board. This meeting will be conducted for Sonic to the five laws of the Cumberland County Virginia Board of Superbasses to ensure a fair, ordinary and safe meeting. Excerpts from the thell walls, pertaining to public conduct, the order meeting has been posted outside for your review. Ms. Grinch, please call the roll. Mr. Hamlin. Here. Mr. Newman. Here. Mr. Stinson. Here. Mr. Saunders. Here. At this time, it will stand in the pleasure of religiously. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic which is against one education and a god to measure the visible and the religious injustice for strong. At this time, we will have an indication. Good spring. Great to see you, Father. We thank you for this day. We thank you for this time where we can gather more to conduct the business of the people of Carmel County. I thank you for all we've gathered in this place. I just pray that you will watch over this meeting. Give us your wisdom to be able to conduct business accordingly. Do with each one in this place. Bless each one here as they lead this place tonight. Watch over and keep them safe. We're up. Amen. We'll have county minister in the comments. Yes, Madam Chair, members of the board, just a couple of comments for the board this evening, staff and members of the audience and our residents that are here at attendance tonight. Number one on the list is we are working on scheduling a future town hall meeting to provide updates on all things Converland that are going on in the county. We are looking to schedule something in May. So we've got to nail down a daytime location yet, but we are going to be able to look out for setting that day. So I'd ask you to please pay attention to the county website. You have to sign up for text alerts and things of that nature. I encourage you to do so. We'll also be posting that on Facebook as well. Just a quick grant update. I don't know if anyone is aware or not, but the county did recently receive another 8th grant from the governor's office. So this is the third grant we've received related to our 8th program and our economic development initiatives and that $37,000 just for the Luther P. Jackson building will be working to make some improvements. Staff has done an outstanding job identifying some needs for improvements to that building that we can dovetail with this with this grant program. And here today I'm pleased to share that we've applied for well over $2 million for the grants, but we've been up for $750,000. Thus far, over a myriad of different areas of focus in the county, whether that's economic development, community development, parks and recreation, I think, and public safety, I couldn't forget about that. And we're anticipating some more awards in the future. We've got a lot of work to do ahead of us, but every day that we're here, we're striving to achieve more grant funding for the county. From an economic development standpoint, we are setting the process, we're kicking off the process for the economic development strategic plan that will be taking place next week at the EDA meeting. And that's a funded project as well and that will seek to identify strategies to improve economic development opportunities within the county but also do it in a way that maintains the rural character of the county as well. So we want to be very strategic in that and very fortunate to be able to work with the new business task force all in that. And the last thing I have for you this evening is just an update on the RAM area medical clinic. If you're not aware from March 29th to the 30th at Compton Lynn High School, we will be using a regional clinic, a medical clinic for anyone in the region. So we'll be sending out some additional information on that RAM clinic that it does include dental, vision, and medical care. And we'll send that out via text alert as well, and place it on our county website. But I just wanted to make sure that everyone in attendance was aware, but also share with your friends and neighbors of maybe the interest. That's all I have for you to see from our amount of chair members of the board. We'd like to take any questions. questions. I just can I just make a comment I just want to say thank you for your effort for securing the grants. A lot of work goes into that not just on your behalf but all staff and I mean $750 that's not a small type of team so thank you for all you. Thank you,000. That's not a small, type of team. So thank you for all you did to get the things. Thank you Mr. Justain. At this time, public comments are gender items. I'm sorry. I'm provolving gender. I'm with my own. What's the purpose? You will have emotions of proof of your agenda. So, Rick, I'm sorry. Mr. Hamlet? Aye. Mr. Noon. Mr. Carrey? Aye. Mr. Sturzen? Aye. Mr. Sturzen. Aye. Mr. Sturzen. Nega, couple of comments. Agenda items only. Only individuals who have signed up for the public comment here will be allowed to speak and call upon by the ship. Members of the Board are simple. Please provide contact information when you sign up sheet to all proper response by the county administrator. First we have sign up to speak is Shirley Langhorn. You wanna speak? Okay. Next we have Mr. Bryant Stanley. Madam Chair, I was signing up to speak for the Overcommon Spirit. Is this the Overcommon Spirit? I just This is the overcommon spirit. Okay. This is the overcommon spirit. Okay. This is the overcommon spirit. Okay. This is the overcommon spirit. Okay. This is the overcommon spirit. Okay. All right. There's no comments. Public comments at this time. We will do state and local departments, agencies, community service providers, reports. providers with force. First we have Public Schools Dr. Jones. Good evening members of the Board Mr. Stanky. Just to give you some updates from the School Division for the past month. Commerland High School Middle School Band, the Cumberland Public Schools Concert Band, and the Commerland Wind Uncymbled Delivered some outstanding performances. The Concert Band, which is made up of six great students, earned an excellent rating. And the Wind Uncymbled in grade 7 through 12 earned a superior rating. And this was at Longwood University. The High School hosted a college in Fair for seniors providing valuable opportunities. There were over 32 schools that were present and one of their seniors, Archie Engel, won a $1,000 scholarship that was a drawing worth of $1,000 scholarship. That's always helpful. This past Saturday the foundation hosted the 5K. We appreciate everyone that participated at hybrid state park and can't paradise. We had a 120 participants and it was a great event and thank you to all the volunteers and donors that made that happen. Usually that event raises over $10,000. Air speech team which you probably know as forensics just competed at the super regionals at Matthew's High School. And they earned the 2025 Speak Superregional First Place Tri-Fit. Every competitor that we took qualified for state, we had a first place winner and extemporaneous speaking Brianna Barger. Eddie Cardin won first place in original oratory. William Bladdenberg won first place in storytelling. Autumn Seaver won first place in humorous interpretation. A lot of Johnson won first place in poetry. Emily Arrow, the camera gold won first place in serious duo. Third place was a lot of Salamah. There won third place in expybarary speaking and fourth place in state alternate Victor Cruz in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state and fourth place in state hosted a book night and literacy night in Book Fair where we talked about reading and math activities and the first graders did an amazing performance. The athletic team, athletic department is doing a weed eater stream fundraiser. You can get your weed eater stream for $5 a school. You make your place looks really nice so Let's know if you want that. March is youth, art month. The state police partnered with their drivers and classes at the high school. And they bring in their golf cart that's outfitted like a state police cart. They do some driving maneuvers out in the park lot. So it's about distracting driving and so forth. So it is a great opportunity. April 17th is kindergarten registration as we get ready to welcome our newest dudes. We come from the high school wrestling team traveled to Bristol and we could three wrestlers in our Jamie D. one fifth place. Come from the high school students traveled to J.A. Bonnt, Park, and Richmond to learn about budgeting and real world finance. We also are students under the direction of the Sir Luggenegger participating to help plan and participate in the John Robinson Historical Marker ceremony. That was a great ceremony and it was celebrated history in communities. Air CNA students traveled to Tay City to the Estes Center to explore career opportunities and gain handle not to experience at the Estes Center. And I will say their career failure three of her CNA students received job offers while they were now. So they are working on the weekends and so forth that a healthcare facility. Operation Glass Slipper had to place last Saturday and Sunday at the High School gym, where students, people donated prom dresses and accessories and they were able to come in and get that problem. The Completten High School varsity dukes, the boys were the James River District basketball champions. It was an exciting game that won 58.55 and our very end coach was named the James River District Coach of the Year for boys. And I will say that the girls coach of the year for James River District was Howard Perez and Prince Edward Duke and they compliment Gratso. So the du dominated the James River, whether you're still a Duke or go on to another division. This Barber Lear Elementary Custodian received the kindness ambassador report from DOE, so that's good we did a ceremony to award her. In very end, Ms. Carol Bellesby, one of her math teachers, Alpha One teacher, eighth grade presented at the math conference at Queen of Mary for Education Dec. As Mr. Stainey said, we are preparing for the ramp clinic at the end of the month. That is the Saturday and Sunday at the complex. They'll be able, they can take up to 500, people to come in from medical screening, and they'll be able to 200 participating in a very uncolonial class in direction with chief Lee and his daughter in Air Food Service Coordinator will be doing the majority of the food and we are still recruiting for teachers and sub-fourth and I will say the recruiting season this year has gone much better than in the past and I thank you for your support in making that possible and as always thank you for your support of the school division. That's it for today. Any questions? Any comments? Thank you. Thank you Dr. Jones. Thank you. Appreciate it. It's not my element here, but anyway. Good evening. I'm just saying a number of the board. I'm'm here to do over the Department of Transportation tonight. I will walk through the presentation. So here's the update for the maintenance fiscal year. It seems like month over month, it's the same or about halfway through, we're still a little bit more than halfway through. The sea is in this slide here, represents the green line represents spent, or inclined represents what the spend plan is. Again, those lines will converge as the fiscal year continues. The really slight drop is just a little bit of a gear, and the reason for that is that the snow money actually comes out of a separate budget. It's not reflected here. So the staff for much of the budget is really focused on the staff salary. So when the staff is applying their time to the snow, that's for that logical problem. So but again as time goes on through the rest of this two year, those are the blind pool pool. So here's the snapshot of the work orders. I was just looked up last presentation from last month. There's about 14 this month. There was 49. A lot of that had to do with snow and debris and rule and the activities that went on. This past month longer so. These slides here, again we got the claimants projects so John, John Mandel, Rue, worked with Starlin on that. All the statuses that Rue was actually again as being big on under contract. This is a service treatment project, we'll be storing in August. The department is actually the department forces or ahead of this project and they're the ones that are actually doing their hot hole and really being prepared for whatever business. Okay, we'll run through some of the highlights and some of the more specific items. Work session coming up, I mentioned it, where the secondary six-year plan public hearing is going to be coming up. We have Y-2631, and in advance of that, I'll coordinate your dinner and getting a work session. We'll talk about the available dollars and what potential rules might be put on the plan for the next secondary six-year plan. Around 60 store project out here, coordinating through Brian Saxton and Public Works who met here where we had a conference call last week. And we're working towards a plan Corridor will end this month at latest or maybe early, or we're rolling through that. Around 60 spread transition, so this is a Corridor's brought up, maybe two months ago, about 35 month, was going to be 45 month hour advanced warning speed sign and where that sign is, and really, since the actual speed limit sign, it's only about to one or a feet, it should be more. So I'm working to get that shifted back to to increase that distance. A couple other just general items that I don't have up there. So mulling the litter or getting to that this season, that way they'll see that going on. The focus now has been to rear mullable from the ice gorms. So after the rear mullable, I, I will come along in the litter as well as the advanced statement prepared that I mentioned earlier. That is all I have for this month, a real brief discussion. Well, let me add again the buggy signage of the work with Mr. Simpson on making a more torrentous area to evaluate some focus areas. Of course, I mentioned, as I mentioned time again, that we have the 40th floor screen. We have the advanced sign, which I have 45. And we're in the process of pulling together some public notification for that. Again, I'll work with the area to give Mr. Stain. So that was all I have for those moments. There are any questions for me at this time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Judge Paren. Thanks for what have I filed for. Good evening, Madam Chair. I'm Totha Ford. On pages 1 through 10 of your board packages you'll find the monthly budget report. This is with me on the Feb. This is for your information. If you have any questions, I'll leave it to you later. Next we have our claiming and zoning report. Good evening, Chair, members of the board. You'll find this evening the claiming project updates for both January and February of this year on pages 10.1 through 10.10 of your board cabinet. For January we had approved three subdivisions with 47 pending. We had one approved survey existing lock with 34 pending. There were three commercial EMS projects with seven residential EMS permits issued. And then for February, we had zero approved subdivisions with 48 pending. One approved survey existing lot with 33 pending. And there were seven residential DNS permits issued and we have the same free commercial DNS permits issued. And I just would like to also mention that the conditionally used permit for free bridge that planning commission public hearing has been moved from March 17th to April 21st, 2025. Originally that was for quest to set public hearing was gonna be held in February, that meeting was canceled. So therefore that request to set public hearing will be in March at their next Monday meeting. So we're requested to set in March for April. So that public hearing will be on April 21st. And that is all I have for you to see. Any questions? Yes. Please. Thank you. Next, we have Karyne and Louise with all of them. Madam Chair, I have another deal with Bill this morning. Thank you. I'm Santa. Thank you. Mr. Stany. Yes, Madam Chair, members of the board. We have three items for your consideration this evening, versus being the approval of your bills. The second item is the approval of the minutes from the February 18, 2025 meeting, February 25th, and March started workshops. There's can all be found on pages 11 through 24 of your board packet. Also we have a reappointment of Vernon Maynand to the Department of Social Services board. She is a representative of District One and her term was vacant due to a recent resignation but she's since expressed a desire we to be reappointed to district one. And to fill that vacancy, if reappointed to this maintenance term, what expire on September 20, 20, so our recommendation is to reappoint when it may end to the local department of Social Service. That'll be glad to take any questions. We are present for what you will have a motion to approve. You can extend to agenda as it was in it. So move. Sure. Amanda? Aye. Mr. Newman? Aye. Mr. Saturday? Aye. Mr. Song? Aye. I'm going to get you a little bit more. Is there any old business? New business, public hearings, additional information, and there are some of the things that we can do. New business, public hearings, additional information. And that's this time public comment. Only an independent who has signed up for public comment here will be allowed to speak when called upon by the chairman. Members of the Board of Supervisors or county officials will not respond directly to questions, ask them in a public comment here. And today, answers will be directly through the county administrator at a later date. Please provide contact information on this side of the sheet to all proper response, to the budgetary and finish sugar. Ms. Betty Myers. We're leaving the money in Betty Myers at the reply 77,7,000, just in one. Thank you for the opportunity to speak before you're receiving. I would like to say I really like Dr. Jones's report. He tells us what he's been going in the past month. And I have suggested that perhaps the county administration do the same thing. That way, we people would be kept informed about such things as throughout the 60s, sewer project, which I still don't know very much about. The other thing is, the last month, this is a bit of a testing meeting last month. I think a lot of that could have been avoided if people that have needs to do would have been more chance of hearing what happened. For us, the people could receive the last minute that y'all are looking at 30-something million dollars for a fourth year quarter-hour project then you do one point of the three years and when you think about it, I think you're lacking the trans-carrix. That's my, I'm recommending that perhaps the county administrator should do something. Some of the white doctor Jones, that's the key to simple what's going on in this county. If I look at what's happening in county in Calming, there's people that didn't know there was a work at room that lose the P. Jackson that they took years. Where is it? Where is it? How much does it cost? But do I have to be able to get in there? There's definitely a lack of communication in this camp. And it continues. And I don't know what else to say. I get upset and then I find out about things that's going on after the fact. And one last thing is a comprehensive plan was approved by the board of supervisors in December of 23. I have yet to see that anybody's morning came that plan and it is being compiled. Thank you. Next, Bill.J. Lanyon, the CPU of the land bill at the meetings, y'all keep telling us of their increase and waste. It's up in the hundreds of thousands. With all these new houses being built in Carmel Inn, and all the contractors and their waste is going in our transfer stations. All the people we do work, all the private businesses in here, and there's no monetary gomen only about where, We're flipping the bill, which I understand that's what we're going to do. But let's don't act like it's such a great thing that, oh my gosh, it increased in weights. Well, let's look at it logically. And then pretty soon, we're going to need new schools. Just like here, we need a new courthouse, a new building, an additional. The thing is, how many loans does a current loan county citizens have right now? I'm told in seven. We have seven outstanding loans. Then I'm told that the courthouse addition project has been in the works for two years. What other projects are in the works that we don't know about? Better we be kept in the dark. Please let us know because this is just a bomb in all of us. And now we're getting ready to get another one, tackle one to it. And the guy said, taxes have to go up. All right, have a good night. Ron, to ready you. You need to think that Ron's a burning if 51 will be laid district 2. First up, I'm going to request that you do your due diligence in evaluating the CUP and the host agreement. They're both under negotiation right now. What we've been talking about, it's meeting to the planning board and stuff, is nothing compared to what the final product might be. Sorry, you know I'm a disgusted. Some statements made by Greenwich at the joint meeting of the board supervised in the planning commission that the money equals that of a hazmat landfill. It does not go into EPA, there's no way here. Don't know about any Title V Lentils that have leaked. If you Google Title V Lentil leakage, EPA is going to give you a whole bunch of revenue that go, they all leak. Final rule is unacceptable from landfill use. What leaves is that once they get done building on the east side of landfill, they're going to want to do an extension to the west side. And having Pine Grove Road establishes an access to the dump, they're going to use it. Next is the fact that I googled how rural road construction compares to highways and it don't. Road roads only require gravel base and then asphalt over it. A highway requires a sub base, a base, fillers, and several layers of pavement. Re-resignation is going to put in the layer of pavement on top of what it says is not satisfactory. It's unacceptable to wait for trucks to come and use the truck to destroy the road in no time. The extension of work on the road has got to go to 22 feet according to the VDOT. They say in a test no big deal they're going to use VDOTs existing easement. We don't require the specific e-mail both sides of the road and they're going to want V-DOTs existing easement. V-DOT requires a specific easement on both sides of the road, and they're going to want it to land that. It's going to have to come from tax-paying citizens. So somebody's going to come up with a funding for that. Leechick will pass between the Marginal and Wilson. There's nothing that says Leechick coming out of the landfill is going to go straight to, where we'll be detected. It comes out in a plume like a funnel. It spreads out, right? And with the Apple for Floor and Wester's Day State, that means the creek growing between Brown Road and Pine Road is a year-round flowing creek that dumps straight to Woody Creek. It will get contaminated. That's where we'll be Brown Road, and then cars will road and on end to stay forests that we appreciate so much. They check down Bay of Rooza, you're gonna get checked out in March. They don't. The order can not be kept within the boundaries of the property. All it is gonna travel and order is decomposition of materials and the methane gas produced by them. The only way you can treat the odor is to bury the water in the landfill and they would have to pose that point point to use a spray paper mistake to come and lay it. I got three more paper and we'll stop. I'm going to get be here. I was here last month listening to everything. I've been open in several things, issues in the past. What I think, I've been raised in Comet County and I've come to Comet County. I've moved out from a graduated classroom into Richmond, a job. They came back and my father got sick. I've been in Comet County ever since. I. And public safety is one of my biggest concerns. In 2000 I was asked to hit up a emergency service committee selling comic county to the system that operation. That's when we come up with Randolph Firehouse in 2000 and started building in 9-11. The day to building, started the first meeting and came building arrived and had them in the following year. So everything was 9-11 emergency. So a lot of that goes into planning. When I built a started working on that, but the seven committee, the other company, the county emergency services, I was a starting working on that with the Southern Committee of the British Southern County Vertical Services, I was a president. We had five six members on that board who did build it. We used the county funds and ASAP and was directed to do it in three estimates and do that process. We did that, we showed everything. Then more number, the previous minutes, future board member made complaints to the state police and we had a investigation on that. Now it had to go through the pre-agurity, all that. So we need to follow it. I was cleared, everything was done right. I've everything down to many. The biggest thing was I didn't go as low as the bid. In one low bid, it was $125 more, but my propane was 14 cents cheaper. And when you run into a firehouse, you use thousands of gallons of it. So my first $125 was to eat up on my first savings of $14. So finally, the pre-entery said, this is a sense. So that's what we went with. When you start with the building, you can do with things that you'll talk about that. You have to go by the State of the Turmin Act. So we need to follow the State of the I've heard all these big judges and laws this and that. But the state of the government act is a law that has to be followed. So we need to address that. I don't know. Talking about grants, grants and grants, great. It is working. I raised $150,000 for the fire trucks. $125,000 for a trucker here under the fire system. That's what we raised in Randolph in the time, 22 years of service. I need the airbite to realize that it's a safe, because you're going to act in a safe, or a proper way to do things. And we need a personal decision. Thank you. Next we have the Sparrow Speeds. Shelly Bailey. I think he's Bob Roy again. My name is Suella Bailey. Oh, Suella. That's okay. That's all right. I'm wide be here. I live at 2268, Anderson, Broadway. I'm in District 2. I am very much against the landfill. And listen to happen. Listen to what Greenwich has to say for seven years. Which way? You can get into helping the line or it is, etc., etc. Is it good for our environment? Is it healthy for our people? Is it healthy for our wildlife? That's really the bottom line. And really in my mind are loving our neighborhood as ourselves. They, you know, Green Ridge, they are predators. They want to make a lot of money off of us. They don't regard us very highly or help or are admired at all. And I am the teaching all of you to protect us. Thank you. Brian Stanley. Good evening, Madam Chairman, Mr. Vice Chairman and members of Board. I am against spending $30 million plus dollars of taxpayer money for a courthouse renovation. Our county cannot afford or get it. I believe that no one in this room wants amount, this amount of money on this project. I don't think the supervisors want it. I don't think the county administrator wants it. I don't think the sheriff's department wants it. And I don't think the county attorney wants it. This massive debt service will greatly restrict the possibility to direct funds with their needed economic development, job creation, funding for staffing, and maintenance and improvement of infrastructure. This plan would negatively impact all of the plan state administration has to improve the lives of our residents. There's been much said in this chamber on social media regarding the subject. As a taxpayer, I would like to respectfully share some thoughts. The Circuit Chort Court does not have the authority to require the County to build a new courthouse when an existing one is serviceable. According to Virginia Code, the Circuit Judge does have the authority to require the County to bring the existing facility of the current standards of functionality and safety. The County does have the option to oppose the improvements requested. Not only that it's spent over a million dollars in court they lost. And the project moved forward fighting this in court is a waste of taxpayer dollars. The board last month did not vote to approve this project and the funding. They voted to stay engaged in the process. A Supreme Vice-Romator motion to table the topic indefinitely. The consequence of such an action would have been detrimental to the county. Indefinite tabling would have removed the board of supervisors from having any input or the ability to reduce the scope of the project. The circuit board would be unencumbered to design and specify all aspects of construction with no concern of budget. I believe the best path for a board of supervisor is to engage and dialogue with the Circuit Court and comes to some kind of agreement. I'm troubled when I hear that the Circuit Court has invited members of this board to meet and their invitation was ignored. You have an obligation to do better than that. If you admit that you've you admit deep with the circuit court on this subject, if you already met with them, I apologize. Thank you for your time. Thank you Jackson. Good evening. I'm Vicki Jackson, 16 Swan Role. I, too, am against the 38-plus million dollar courthouse. I asked first that y'all be better with communication. We have elderly people here in the community that don't have social media. Just like when it was time to be elected, y'all not going to go with us, y'all make sure do who want to be in place. Please let us know what's going on in our county and in our community. First I ask, there are other things that need to be taken care of in a court house. A laundry mat for one will be nice. That one up there is disgusting. We need recreation for our children to keep them out of trouble. We have all this farm land and no one's even used it. Put a recreation center and give them something to do in the afternoon's after school. And if there's a state of emergency or evacuation, come to county even have that. Me and my mother and my aunt live on the same street. When the weather came through and God forbid, no one had nothing to do with that but the Lord. We were out of power for four days. All three of us are under going to chemo therapy and regulation. Do you know how cold it can get when you're in a home like that? Can you have no means for ease? My body aches for days. My mother, I also worried about her. We can't even have a grocery store but I am glad to hear that we are working on that now but I accept the fertilizer not being on the out with the meat. We need to clean up our county. I think everybody here wants to be known more than just a 30-million-a-quarter. Blue to be Jackson could be used as a shelter, your generators, the cafeteria there could be a soup kitchen for heating and cleaning up people in the county. I think we need to do better in the work of duty. We wanna have a function and we can't even party past 12 o'clock, but if you go up the street to print several 15 miles up the road and you can stay true to our tax dollars. The taxes are ridiculous. I can't explain how hard it is as a person that's going to chemo that each treatment is $35,000, but me to pay taxes the way that I do here in Kamala and it's not that me to pay taxes for. So I'm asking that y'all get together. We consider, think about putting that 38 million dollars somewhere that the county needs and not the for hours. So please. We are two people got stole my federal communications and there's some good input on that. And I guess what I'm asking is a president, Dr. Davis, 1377 deep lung load, my wife and I were there in the course. Back to the communication. If I ask, if the board, any county as a whole, could do a better job at communicating the facts on the issues at hand or what's coming up, I think it would be welcome a lot more by the residents. There's a lot of stuff out on social media that seems to grow legs of its own. And if we could give the communication with new guys, I think some of the stuff we'd have would be better educating on what's coming down the road. There's a lot of passion in this room on the issues that the county faces. There's a lot of good ideas. Mr. Jackson brought up several of them just now. So I know that you guys are tasked with making the decisions, but there's a lot of good ideas out there that probably warrant some entertainment. To talk about the courthouse, I've read the code until it puts me to sleep at night. I've gone out on the internet and looked at other communities with disabilities that have had to deal with it. There's one that comes to note of gusting counting, I believe that's it. And then actually put a question and answer out on their website. And it was, you know, is this, does this cost $38 million? Well, you know, these are the issues or whatever. Now, I'm using that number, that's not what they said. I'm used to it. Number is as an example. With that BNC, last week was a barnyard. We got a lot more manners taking place right now. But I would say this, it was said last week that respect is not given. It's earned. And I think there's a difference between respect and being respected. And last week, or the last one, I don't think there was a whole lot of people giving to be in perspective. And I guess one of the biggest examples, Betty Myers, you always hold your breath when she comes up here to talk because you don't know if you're going to be in the line of fire now. But she's always respected. Now every now and then, there might be some finger points, but I have yet to see her come up here and not be respected. She's a perfect example. There's others. She's a perfect example. She's passionate. She does her homework and whether you agree with her or not, she comes up here and respects her to the board and presents her ideas for her issues. So, communication, the key, ideas from the community, I ask, and then also be a respectful aback through it. That's all I got. That's all I got. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm sorry.. I was like, thank you every time for showing up. We do listen to your words and your wisdom and everything. Don't ever think that we don't listen in dedicated consideration in what's in front of us, what's in front of you. Again, we are community. We have to be respectful for each other. We have to listen to each other. And again, thank you very much for coming in. Yeah, in fact, I just want to thank everybody for being here tonight. I always try to say this is your meeting, conducting your business. And it's good to hear from members of the public. I do try to reach out, listen to your constituents, listen to the Toco, the following of this county, one of our databases. I know last one to me, it was said that there was a lot of passion. It was never my intent to rile anybody up. I was passionate about the issue and I wanted to make sure that the people knew the options before us and what we didn't have to do. I just wanted to say take this time that if I personally a femininity body, I was going to apologize. That was not my intention. And while I will remain passionate to serve the people in my community, I will try to do so with a little more conform in the future. And I just wanted to say that to members of the board, members of the public. And like I said, I'll try not to, my goal is not to encourage anyone to be disrespectful. And I think that, again, respect is earned, but being disrespectful, is shouldn't take place in this proceed. So I just want to thank everybody again for being here and I feel happy to be here. where you start first, that is where the deputies are the Sheriff's Department, that is I needed for your tenure and supporting our private department. Safety years are number one goal, and without safety we don't have anything. I say that because you need to be on the side. Social media can't get completely out of hand. So my family was threatened on social media as a result of last coordinate. All the board members, you are in the Saltata, the Finitory Language, come to court, rip like a horse, make them scream, So, I thought we live in the districts and we should have voted for us. Family, friends, neighbors, we two pay taxes, we expand the same thing even. We don't riding a truck to taxes any other than anyone else. But the corn was completely lost. Professionalism, being polite, being courteous, all those words went out and they continued to get out for weeks and weeks and weeks. to the point where I have to call from someone I had never met. I had to call two months on the phone and start the conversation with us. I want to let you know and pray for you and your and your family and your family and your family and your family and your family in your family and put your sick. And so we're even putting talk on that. He said, you don't follow the same opinions, I'm done with that. So I asked him what was going on. And he said, this kid is really bad. He said, my wife and I are really fearfully your family. I said, my kids are right. But we do watch my kids, kids, my grandkids. They watch social media, and they came in and said the same thing. It's just not my opinion. So I don't get where, as a county where we've gone to that point, in the last meeting. And I admit this may have been very important, very professional. Thank you. But what ever happened last time, just make sure you know what's going on. We are listening. And we're here just like the rest of you. You can make this a great on things. You can talk about things, you should talk about things. There are certain rules, state regulations, etc., we can't just have a conversation with you. There are also ways where we can do that if you don't meet with the whole board and you just meet one on one of them. I'm more than willing to do that. Call me, send an email anytime. If you want to meet one on one, you want to meet with a small Brit, the door's open. We've always been listening. So I don't know how we suddenly got to this point over here. Accusations have been made. We've voted for a courthouse another happened we're trying to do it Mr. Stanley just pointed out we're trying to keep this from court trying to work with people I think the corporate side okay that's That's where the minion energy. We never use the term fight fight fight. You don't fight with a judge. People are with me. Just like people want to work with you. This isn't some game of fighting anything. It's working with people who work through. It is entirely understandable for people who don't want to spend money on a courthouse, remodeling or anything else. This building was built in 1880. It built before electricity. It built before running water, built before insulation. But I think that's the sense of insulation that's added maybe around the turn of the center. And you smell it. Did you read deep when you came in? Is it here? In this building? Some, yeah, this building needs work. And this has come up. I had another sick advisor from a 14-year-old together who approached me and said, I want to let you know that it's our fault. That's what we're already talking about. He knew. You said we knew 10 years ago. You said the difference was we didn't have a judge that would stand up and push the issue to get it done. Now I said you've been kicking the camp for 10 years, for a decade. And we haven't done anything, but there's a board beat. We just didn't have anyone behind us to take it to the next level. So for that, I apologize. I wouldn't hear you're thinking you're good, but I can't apologize because it has not been fun. The communication, we'll get that. I personally will sign up and we'll call it a round table instead of a town hall. We'll sign up for a round table for people from District City. And we'll set a meeting day, you can come in, and we'll all sit down at the round table. And we'll have a discussion. And we'll put everything on the table. And we we can talk and communicate like we can't necessarily talk as a degree. So for that, thanks for your understanding, thank you for your compassion. Thanks for those who were supportive on social media. And thanks for those who are listening. We can get through this. We can work through this. We are a passionate county. And when we try to bring in more business, when we try to bring in grocery stores, we try to do more for this county. Remember, whatever we hear on social media, the companies here too. So if you want nice things to come into this county, let's think about what we said. And let's keep things between us as family, as friends, as neighbors. And let's walk through it. That's all I ask. I don't speak for the whole world. But I can certainly speak for my family but they've been through for the last four weeks. None of you may have did. There are a few of you who can have, that are sitting out there, and I'm happy that you're all here, and I'm happy that you're all able to enjoy a civil-born meeting with compassionate board members and we really are trying to do the best thing. There's no pocket to being lined with money. There's no corruption taking place. If there's things that need to be communicated better, we can do a better job than that. You want to learn about the Silver Project? It's not a real sexy, but I can tell you, sure, it stopped up. How about that? And without a fence. So it's as simple as that. And thank you for coming. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your families. We love you. Well, I must first say that prayer didn't work because looking at the last meeting and all that has transpired since then, and then to see this work from the field tonight, where everybody's shown respect, Everyone is peaceful. And even though we might not all agree, everyone is still more cool. And we can acknowledge so much about working together, still fighting and pulling against one another. We live in this county. We all pay the taxes. And as all members, it is not easy by no means. But we sign up for this job. And so we don't take it like that. We didn't sign up. I don't give us no promotion. Do anything for us for us. It doesn't even build our resume, really. But we want to make a difference in this county. We want to be the spokesperson for you all. But we can't speak for you if you don't come to us and tell us. We are here to listen. We are here for you all. As as you come like you did tonight with manners and respect. That's all we ask to force your concerns. Give us your ideas. Everybody has ideas. Everybody has something to offer to bring to the table because we all were created for purpose. And so I just ask that as we go forward that we work together and as the word does love comes a multitude of sins and to love that name as that cell and to show on another perspective. And I'm grateful for that tonight. I've seen it. I've been going home and rest with ease. Not worrying about the police officer having to walk us out or going up and down the road by herself because we don't know if somebody gonna do something towards because they didn't agree with what was decision that we made in a more unique. That's not what Cumberland County is about. I've been here my entire life and Cumberland County is a family regardless of what district you live in. We work together, we stick together, we respect each other. And so I I am grateful, I am very thankful for all of you all coming out tonight, even if you didn't speak, just your presence. Your presence alone means a lot. It shows that you care. And everyone has stated how they feel. Everyone is very appreciative, I know. And it feels good that when we get up from here, when we are during this meeting, we can go and shake hands and talk to people and really not be afraid to somebody go conscious or aside. Because that's not what a meeting is about. And it's out there on social media. We don't want people to say those people don't know the number of conduct or meeting. They don't know how to act. That's not us. We represent ourselves very well. And as Christians, we're not only representing ourselves, the county, but most of all, we're representing God, with all that we say and do. So from that note, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for coming up tonight. And we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting. Fill this courtroom every meeting. Come on back. We welcome you all. And on that note, do we have a motion to adjourn the meeting? So good. Shark. That's the motion. Handle it. Uh, the movement. Uh, the staff. Aye. The motion? Aye. The song. Good night. Thanks for your time.
