Between Republic and Egypt. One nation and the United States. One nation and the United States. One nation and the United States. The first item of business we have today is public comment. And this will be public comment on closed session items. We're going to go into closed session. When we come back out, we will also have an open session item. There will also be an opportunity to speak on the open session item at that time. But at this time, we're going to have comment on closed session items. And I'll ask the clerk to please count the number of speaker slips either in person and or online to give me an idea of how many speakers we have. I see even some still filling them out. 20 in-person speakers and so far there are no online speakers. Very good. We're going to allow one minute for each speaker and if any come online please just let me know how many along the way that we get. If you would call the first three speakers and if the speakers would line up here at the podium at the microphone and be ready to speak when the speaker before you finish is that's how we'll do it first three speakers. Lamar Howesley and get the staff. Ready? Yeah, I guess it's a team effort. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Good morning, board of supervisors. We are asking that you vote yes to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Coliseum Complex from CWP to OAC. We saw during all start weekend that the Coliseum can and will be very beneficial to the city of Oakland in a positive way and we saw many jobs can be created with the use of the Coliseum and how our youth can benefit from the Coliseum in so many ways. Also our weekend was the perfect proof of concept to show the city of Oakland residents when it's soon to come consistently to Oakland once this deal is finalized. Let's finalize this deal so more opportunities and job and more experience can be created for the City of Oakland as a whole. Thank you. Next speakers, Mauricio Mejia, JP Anthony, Richard Johnson. Hello, county supervisors. It's honor and a pleasure to be here visiting from the City of San Jose and watching the history happen today. We are in full support to see a great visionary like Ray Bobbitt take on this opportunity and want to see this thing pass today. So congratulations to everyone. The new narrative begins today. Thank you. We have a new man named Mr. Johnson and I'm representing the Department of Costway giving to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, and we'll help a lot of them when they want to be out on the street and what they need to do is survive. But if you're going to do what you need to do today, it's done deal. Thank you. Thank you. Applause. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Good afternoon supervisors. My name is Jay P. Anthony and I'm speaking on behalf of local three painters in drywall finishers and also as an Oakland resident and a person that was born and raised here. I urge you to vote yes to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Connissum Complex from CWP to OAC. At a time when our community faces uncertainty and economic challenges the action is critical. This is the action is critical investment in the future of Oakland and the entire Bay Area region Approving the sale means job creation economic revitalization and a stronger tax base All of which are essential for funding public services supporting working families and fostering a thriving local economy This project represents more than just a transaction, it's an opportunity to invest in the people of Oakland. We need leadership that prioritizes progress, economic growth, and a well-being for our communities. A yes vote moves us forward in Oakland for the city of Oakland now residing. thing that this is amazing project and that Ray Bobby would do an outstanding job. I worked for it. I did the firestorm in Oakland for the city of Oakland now residing in San Francisco. I got four billion dollars on on Thursday at our Southeast community center. Got all kind of awards and one of the key things is they got to see it done and have opportunity to have a pre-apprenticeship program work with Andreas over here in the building trades. My whole thing is I got they got to see it done for the opportunity to have this program in a backyard create the impact of a four billion dollar development project in Oakland create a lot of opportunities and return on investment and the methodology is to pre-appinist program Cypress, Mendella, Sunrise, some of the other, having a train. Then once that they go to Alameda County, that work with Alameda County, you need to fill these three, three, four, all of them and you put them in there. And the key thing is having someone on the field that's got the experience and tell them, hey, this is how you do it. Go to bed do it go to bed some Thursday I need you on bed at nine I need you on the job at 620 why you live right up the street you know you have to be so much be able to you know tell them that they got to see it done thank you for your comments Seth Allier, Nader Maudawa, John, Eskimana. Good afternoon, supervisors. I'm Seth, all your president, Oakland Firefighters Local 55. And I find myself constantly at Electron begging for basic services lately. I inherited this job at the best time. That was sarcasm. But right now, this is an opportunity for the county to pivot and make the Oakland Coliseum complex something that the entire region of the state can be proud of. This is not begging for something. This is demanding change and looking forward to the future. So Oakland firefighters support this. Workers in East Oakland support this. I spent 20 years at a firehouse in East Oakland seeing what lack of opportunity can do. This is exactly the opposite of that. This is opportunity. So I implore you to vote yes and advance this sale. Thank you so much. My name is Dana Motowar. I've been with the Oakland Fire Department for 20 years. And we urge you to vote yes. We do support this for all the reasons. Set the set and everybody else in this room. It's going to mean a lot for Oakland. Thank you. Good afternoon. I'm John Eskimia. I'm an Oakland Fire fighter. and I'm also an Oakland resident. I strongly support this measure. Thank you. Andreas Clever, Keith Brown, Dexter V. Seaman. Good afternoon supervisors and staff. Andreas Clever, let me, let me tell you a county building construction trade council strongly urge you to vote yes on the sale and assignment of the Coliseum to the OAC. I first want to thank all the staff and everybody that has worked very, very diligently on this and all the good work that has gone into it. So really excited about this approval. I just want to add something new with regards to the construction jobs and the construction environment. As you know we're going to see a lot of significant decrease in federal funding for infrastructure. We need to generate local jobs in construction and this is one of those projects that's going to do that. We've got a great partner in the developer here. We've been sitting down for over two years now and coming up with a mechanism and a pipeline to put people to work, Oakland residents to work, African-American residents to work, so we're really excited about this happening. So please support this. One last thing also is a Port Commissioner. The development of the Hagenberger corridor is essential to increase our traffic through our or airport and creating a real vital lifeline on that whole corridor. So please vote yes. Thank you very much. Thank you. I remember this is the board. I'm Dexter Visanon, local business man, community advocate. I used to work for this board. When I worked for this board, I was the liaison between this board and the economic development agency. My job was to vet deals. That's what I did for this board. I vetted deals. I recommended against the Raiders. I oversaw the expansion of the calcium to get minority participation in contractors. This is a good deal. I know these people, I know Robert Bob, Bill Duffy for 40 years, Alan Dones, the capable competent, they can deliver. I'm recommending that you take this deal, and when you do this deal, you do everything within your power to help facilitate. Thank you. Good afternoon, President Halpert, supervisors and staff Keith Brown, Alameda Labor Council, and the 135,000 working families urged a yes vote to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Coliseum complex. This transaction is critical for community job creation and for the revitalization of the entire East Bay region. As I've said many times, this is a historic opportunity, a massive job generator, a four-alameda county all-star weekend last month. It gave us a taste of a thriving coliseum. Let's bring back the hotels and restaurants and make our East Bay region a world-class destination. Vote yes for a thriving future for Alameda County. Thank you. Color you on the line you have one minute to speak. You hear me? Yes. My name is Karim Mahamin and I'm one of the toll founders of the African- Americans and I would urge you to board a council to vote no and pretty much delay this as Mr. Bobbitt is still avoiding. Sit down with his other two co-founders and this will lead into something that everybody should just take a pause that and reflect on until a determined lawsuit that is heading to arbitration is resolved as there's been a lot of lies told within the community and to the board of supervisors in the city of Oakland. We love this project. It's a beautiful thing for East Oakland, importantly, but we need to do it right and we need to make sure that everything is settled before going forward. Thank you. Ray Robert, Bobbitt, sorry. John Jones III and Jeffrey Pete. Good afternoon. My name is John Jones III. I just want to say it's a beautiful thing to be here. And I'm grateful for all the folks here that spoke. I strongly urge you all to vote yes. I won't repeat all the reasons you heard here because all of them are valid. I just want to add one thing for us to think about and why it's so important to vote yes. The events that folks mention right between the NBA also are game. If Oakland was not seen as a viable place right if I leave me to county was not seen as a viable place then why would the NBA agree to have events there right and for those who participate in the black joy parade specifically thousands of people are having a good time here and I want to add that that is so important because we're talking about the quality of life When I can bring my tenure row to an event and we can have a good time and above all being safe because we hear that narrative about public safety This is really a public safety project as well, so thank you all for your due diligence and please vote yes Good evening, folks. I think you should just reflect on a very, very important fact. John Carlos and the other brother who was standing and raising their hands in their fists, did you know that Gim Gali It slips my mind, but just be patient with me just a minute Jim Hines graduate of McClimeons High School Set a world record in the 100 yard dash. Open McLean's what athletes have done for this county, they've lifted the black athletes have lifted this community in a way that's monumental. And now it's the county's time, it's turned to give back to Oakland. And Oakland has to be the beneficiary of some of the hard work that's been done. Thank you very much. And excuse me for mumbling them getting over. Hello, and I just wanted to thank you. Thank you very much for allowing us this opportunity to speak. My name is Ray Bobbitt. I'm part of OEC and ASCG. We've been working on this process for five years and everybody in this community has been behind us and everybody who is here to support this project, I want you to stand up. Stand up, everybody who's here to support this project. Everybody from our community who is here to support this project, I want you to say, we love Oakland on three. One, two, three. We love Oakland! So I'm just here to urge you specifically that one more time. One, two, three. We have a vote. So I'm just here to urge you specifically that one more time. One, two, three. We have a vote. So I just wanted to urge you, this is a community-based effort. Everybody in our community has been pulling for this. We've been patient. We've been supportive. I want to thank the staff for the opportunity that we've had to work together with them. I want to thank County Council and County Administrator for the process. So thank you very much and we urge you to complete this assignment. Thank you. Mr. King, Mr. King, Egypt, Ena King, Sibli Simon. So that's the kind of horror I have to follow out through. We love Oakland. So my name is Minister King. I'm formerly incarcerated. Some of you probably know me. I'm always out in the community doing some art of its work. What we talk about, like Richard Johnson said, how could we help public safety? And how could we find real concrete solutions? Let me say this to you. This is Auckland response to say, yes, so equity. When we have been subjected to being ostracized and not included, this is Auckland response to uphold public safety and to promote opportunities for those who have been subjected to economic distress. Distress. This is the solution for the community's pollution. We are asking that you vote yes to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Coliseum Complex from CWP to OAC. We love Oakley. I'm Sivley Simon and we're kind of affordable housing. But I just want to say that we really have to get this done because it takes a huge amount of capital to get projects like this going. And just time gets in the way that we see that with projects where deals can fall apart if they just take too long. And here we are. I was disappointed a couple months ago we couldn't just copy and paste the deal that A's got and just get this assignment and do it, but a lot of negotiations happened. I think we need to take the best deal that's on the table for all parties today and approve it. So I hope you really complete that today. So I'll come over forward. Thanks a lot. Thank you. Applause. Don't have mousbex, but I'm gonna do the best I can. Hello everybody, my name is Egypt Itemary Dan's Burkane and I strongly urge you guys to let this purchase happen. Let this sale happen, let it happen for Oakland. We have been standing on San Toulon, very unstable. We need to be on the ground with that being said A.S.C.G. can take us there would have a chance for these young people in Oakland to be able to have something to look up for. Some hope jobs affordable housing teams coming back stores opening up we need this we need this has been enough corruption. corruption, it's been enough procrastination, we need this five years in the making and it's time for us to be able to uplift our city. Make it beautiful again. Oakland is a wonderful place, a very cultural place. It's a very diverse place and ASASAG can take us there. We need ASA-A-S-A-G and we need you guys to seriously take this and the most serious manner, pull for us, make it happen. Please, we need this purchase and this sale and this to happen. Thank you. Thank you. Nijal Jones, Lenn Turner, Pastor Langford. Hello guys. Let's get up. Okay. So I'm not going to repeat too much other than just tell you a quick story. Kevin Johnson, who is the mayor of Sacramento, used to play for the Phoenix Suns. He is about to open a restaurant, two blocks from my restaurant on Valdez. It's called Fixin. He has three restaurants right now. And he is delaying it. And I spoke to him as a Kevin Y. And he says, the reason I'm delaying it is because your city is known right now as a loser. You lost your basketball team, football team, and yeah. And so, you know, basically what he's saying is that everybody's watching Oakland ready to invest. And here we have a win. This is a win. It's easy. So let's take it and move on. Thank you. Appreciate you. Good afternoon supervisors. Thank you for allowing us to speak. My name is Lynn Turner. Born and raised in Oakland before even the Coliseum was there. seeing was there. I used to ride my dirt bike over there. Business owner and we have supported Oakland on my life. And so we continue to support it. And we support Ray, Bob at Ann's Teams project. We really, really want you guys to move it forward. Oakland, when I was growing up, was a destination. People couldn't wait to get here. And so we need that back. That project is in the gateway, like everyone's been saying, it is the lifeline of Oakland as far as I'm concerned. That is when people get off the plane, this is what they're gonna see. We want them to see the beauty of Oakland because it's a beautiful place to be and a beautiful place to live. So thank you, please vote yes. Good afternoon supervisors passed a link for it from Oakland Private Industry Council. Some years ago Oakland needed a lifeline and that lifeline was created by the city of Oakland and Alameda County Board of supervisors. That lifeline became the Oakland African-American sports entertainment group that selected men and women from Oakland, particularly East Oakland. Oakland is known for its vibrancy but it's also known for its great athletics in American high school sports history. Some of the greatest basketball, baseball, football players came out of Oakland. Some of the greatest entertainers came out of Oakland. And I can tell you, back in 1977, my mother who raised me on food stamps allowed me to go to the tournament of champions. And I saw Bill Caltwright, I saw Gene Ransom, and I saw Northern Shavers, some of the greatest men and women that went on to be great athletes, even some that are managing teams like the LA Lakers. Guess what? Three years later, I became a tournament tournament of champion at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. I want to play basketball at Ordersale University, one four athletic scholarships. I did not know that 30 years later I will come back and work in Oakland. And since I've been working in Oakland, I have buried over 100 young men and women who don't have a lifeline who lost their life because of no hope. AASEG brings brings hope to East Oakland, not dope and we need you to support this and this is going to revolutionize not only Oakland but all of Alameda County in our surrounding area. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Last four in-person speakers, Tim Austin, Antoinette Blue, Blake, Artsen, Cerelle Wilson. My name is Tim Austin and I'm here for the approval of the sale. I wanted to address the caller who called in a little earlier. I mean, we all have opinions. And you know what they say about opinions, they're like, you know, buttholes, we all have them, right? I have 30 years experience working with and knowing Ray Bobbitt. It went from a mentorship to a friendship to a brotherhood. And I can tell you there's nobody who's more dedicated to this city than Ray Biotit. Ray Biotit, I think, his family, the Lord, and his close friends is probably what he loves more than this actual city. But he really wants to do something that makes sense to create jobs, to create commerce, create opportunity. So let's not waste time. Let's approve this sale, and I'm all for it. Thank you. Applause. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm a little short here. Good afternoon, supervisors. My name is Antoinette Blu, and I'm here in my capacity as a city worker, as well as the chapter president of SEIU local 1021. I just want to express our union strong support for the Coliseum sale. This deal is going to lay the foundation for a thriving Oakland, which means new businesses. That means jobs. That means our city is going to be flourishing and actually have a positive, a positive, I'll say perspective or image on social media because right now it's not looking too good. And I do feel that this deal, it'll change everything essentially for the city of Oakland. I urge you guys to use your powers and your leadership to see this project move forward. As you can see, the community is in strong support of it. We're in support of it. City workers are in support of it, and it's going to make a huge difference. Thank you. Thank you. Good afternoon supervisors and staff. Thank you for your leadership on this issue. This has been a long time coming and so I'm here. My name is Blake Consumnet. I'm here on behalf of SEIU 10-1 to voice our strong support for this project. I grew up in E. Soklund. know, I'm one of the few people probably here that could say I went to all the World Series, not all of them, but a game in each World Series that's a A's played in the 70s. And I love this city. And I think this 100 acre parcel is tremendous. It's huge to have this developed and to revitalize this area. It's good for the community. It's good for the city and the county. And SEIU 10 to 1, or just of a yes vote. We just can't say how strong our support is and thank you for your leadership on this. Hello, good afternoon. My name is Earl Wilson. I'm the CEO of Louis House and I'm in support of them getting the Coliseum because it's gonna be bringing economical boost into East Oakland. It's not gonna do that, but it's gonna bring jobs and it's gonna bring jobs trained to trouble you in our city. So I know Ray, I work with Ray, I work with a lot of these organizations that are here. With this project going forth, we're gonna be able to give our trouble. You've another opportunity, another chance at life, and another chance at legal wages and something that's gonna sustain in life. So once again, we support this project, but we hope that you guys do too. Not only for Oakland, but for our children. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft. Color, you're on the line. Please state your name. You have one minute to speak. Urmina, you're on the line. Please unmute. Caller, you're on the line. Please state your name. Hello. We can hear. Yes. All right. Good afternoon. My name is Julian. Where? And the local vice president for the City of Oakland. I have PT local 21 and then Alameda Labor Council executive member. I can't really work for the City of Oakland as well. We're asking that you vote yes to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Coliseum Complex from CWP to OAC. In this moment, it's so much uncertainty and loss. Action to approve this important step to complete this transaction is critical to the entire community for job creation, for tax-based creation, and for the revitalization of the entire East Bay region. This is a critical development for DP-CELC, when its residents in the broader Alameda County region, creation of jobs, providing public safety by preventing light and revenue generation growth for the region are critical. Thank you. How many more online speakers do we have? That'll be it. Thank you. Collar, you're on the line. Please state your name. You have one minute to speak. Septenemic, but McDonald. We can hear you. Thank you. First, I would like to address the negative comments directed towards Raymond Bobbitt, AACG and OAC, which are unfortunate and contradict the court ruling in place and the support and excitement surrounding the Coliseum project. Overwhelming support shown by the community and the capital partners involved with the transaction. Those negative comments and any dispute that that individual may have belong in the courts and not before this board. I urge the Board to vote yes to approve and finalize the assignment of the sale of the Coliseum Complex from CWP to OEC. The project will bring crucial redevelopment and great economic benefit to East Oakland, the city of Oakland, Alameda County, and the larger Bay Area region. And what more positive, how much more positive can we be that this project is being put forth by homegrown members of this community? Thank you. Collar, you're on the line, please state your name. Hi, my name is Chase Duller. I'm civil engineer with the Oakland Department of Transportation, a proud member of IFPT local 21 and a decade-long open resident. I'm here to speak on the open-call CMSAI item. As I think most are aware, the open budget has seen better days. Our budget situation has led city administration to propose not only of I-offs to nearly 100 100 city workers who provide essential services to open residents, but also the closure of three fire stations across the city with the closure of another four on their rise. As ever, these cuts to the city services will impact most vulnerable members of our community, the hardest. I'm here to ask that you vote yes to approve and finalize the sale of the call seeum from CWP to OAC. In the short term the Coliseum sale will deliver funds to both the county and the city of Oakland that are critical in delivering the level of city services to Alameda County and Oakland residents deserve and have come to expect. In the long term it will serve for much needed job creation and larger tax base and help revitalize the call to same complex. Thanks again for your time. That was Celeste Speaker. Very good. At this time we're going to recess into closed session. We will be back in this chamber when we're finished with closed session. Thank you. Recording stop. Good evening everyone. We're going to now resume our special meeting and I'll ask the clerk to please call the roll to establish our quorum. Supervisor Marquez, excus open session item number one is placed by me on this open session. And it's to receive an update on the status of discussions with OAC regarding a term sheet and possible direction to staff regarding next steps. We'll receive a brief report from our negotiating team. I want to say up front though that this is a bit unusual. We don't usually receive these kinds of open session updates on a term sheet negotiation. Our staff is going to say what they can say. We're going to allow for public comment and And I'm going to ask that if you made comment earlier, while this is another item, you made comment on closed session. This is a different item, but there as you know related, if you made comment earlier, no need to do again. If you haven't made comment yet and want to, and I note that we have more people in the room and online now than we're here earlier that you'll have the ability to do that and we'll allow public comment on that. So we'll also have comment from us as board members and we will do that accordingly. So with that said, I'm going to ask our negotiators and or our legal team to make any report out from close session. And or report on the status of discussions with OAC, term sheet. That's two different items, I guess, but they're related. So this is is County Council I have nothing to report out of closed session. I can really gas away a Director of General Services Agency so thank you board and everyone here. We can the staff continue to negotiate and good faith making really great progress on the key issues in this deal. and we've received additional direction today from our board on certain points that we were looking for and we'll continue to strive to get the steel done. We are waiting on two documents from OAC and AACG to finish negotiations. That includes the quick claim deed and a release related to litigation. We expect to receive these tomorrow at our next negotiation meeting, which happens tomorrow afternoon. That's my report. Thank you. I just have a question that I'm pending that meeting tomorrow. We also plan, I believe, to schedule this topic for closed session next Tuesday to hear another report out. Correct. So this is a very iterative process. Tomorrow is another big day. Kimberly mentioned that we've given direction. You'll have a meeting tomorrow. Thank you. I'll have comments after public comment, but I'll ask for now. Anybody who would wish to make a comment before our board will be able to fill out a speaker slip and or raise your hand if you're online. We're going to cut off speakers after we allow sufficient amount of time for people to either fill out a slip or raise their hand online. We have in-person speaker. How many do we have? One. When in-person speaker, if anybody else would like to speak in person feel free to do so by filling out a speaker slip card. And how many do we have raising their hands online? One speaker let's hear it. here at eight, that's been in for a couple of minutes. You can have two. Aqua Franklin. Okay. Franklin. Y'all want two minutes? No, you're going to have two minutes. We may not need two minutes. I do want to make a brief comment. My name is Akul Franklin. I work for Higher Ground. And behind me is a part of our. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. I'm not going to be a lot of people. item and we hope that it provides some jobs for our young people in Oakland. Thank you for having us. Thank you. Applause. Thank you. Okay, no more speakers. We'll bring it back for deliberation and comment. I do want to thank those that spoke earlier and those that spoke now I also want to make it very clear That our negotiating team is indeed hard at work They are hard at work because they have direction from our board We are continually continually refining that direction. We did again, even earlier this evening, I'm committed to having this deal be successful. I'm committed to having the deal be done for the reasons that were stated by everybody earlier today and that we've I've always stated. This deal remains the best opportunity for the future of this site. Assembling both pieces of ownership 50% city of Oakland 50% Alameda County assemblage into one hand. A hand that's very capable with proven experience, financing projects like this, building projects like this, making projects like this successful. The commitment has come with the opportunity has come with the commitment to higher union skilled labor, providing training for those that will be trained to work for great careers beyond this project for many years to come. That's going to be good for Oakland. The project is one that is going to provide the economic vitality to an area that needs it. I've said before and I'll say it again as goes Oakland so goes all of Alameda County. And so this opportunity before us is important and I remain steadfastly supportive of getting it done. That will happen in large part and you heard our negotiating team say tomorrow. And I say to those that were negotiating with tomorrow. We don't talk about the terms like this in detail like this. That's what tomorrow is for. It's going to come back to us again on Tuesday, hopefully done and completed. You heard our negotiator say they've been given direction. You've heard our negotiator say they're waiting for documents. So it's on both sides to come together and make it happen. We want to make it happen. Do my colleagues have anything else that they want to say? May I say one thing before you continue? Please do. I just want to remind your board this is not a development deal. This is a real estate, real estate transaction. So with respect to the development that may come, we're not a party to that. We're not dictating or controlling that. This is a straight real property transaction for us. It's not a development deal. Yeah, thank you. Yes, County Council. Thank you for reminding us of that supervisor, Miley. Thank you, Mr. President. I just want to appreciate everyone coming and speaking today and everyone who's here in the audience and online. I think our president has scheduled this special meeting today. You have I think three supervisors who represent a majority of the board. I think committed to wanting to see this deal happen. What I'm saying is not necessarily a message to all of you. It's a message to the investors that we want to see this deal happen. Our negotiators have been given direction on what they can do and what they cannot do. So there's a meeting tomorrow on my hope, my firm hope is that we can come to resolution around the outstanding matters, but we want to see this happen. I, as an African-American, I as someone representing Stokeland, I as someone who was on the City Council representing Stokeland, someone who has worked on many deals. I understand how important this is to the community, to us as African Americans, to the city of Oakland, and to everyone. So I want the investors to understand we want this to occur. But there's just a couple of things. And once again, I cannot disclose what we discussed in closed session, but I think tomorrow at the table, I think if the negotiators from OAC side, here's what our negotiators have. I think we can bring this to fruition on next Tuesday. And once again, I would just say, President Halbert has done a remarkable job of moving this forward. And you do have, I think, three supervisors, because I can't speak for the other two, because they are here today. But I do think you have two, three supervisors that want to see this move forward. So I firmly feel that we can come to a resolution on this at the table tomorrow. And then the board can hear a report on this next Tuesday. I do what everyone has said in terms of what this means for East Oakland what it means for Oakland what it can mean in terms of the entire county is extremely important. We know that a rising tide lifts all boats. So if the rising tide rises in Oakland, in Oakland, rises, it rises the entire county because Oakland is the county seat. We do recognize that, you know, having been a resident of the city for more than 40 years, probably approaching 50 years, I have seen how over the course of time issues in Oakland are very challenging. I mean, there are many undeserved populations, many pathologies, many things that need to be addressed. There's the opportunities for economic growth and development, the opportunities for jobs, the opportunities for the policy and area to be everything that it can be, and something that we want to see realized. I've often said when that area was a redevelopment area back in the 1990s, it could probably have mirrored downtown Oakland, had the investments been made, but at the time it just didn't occur. No one in this room up here predicted that we would end up losing, you know, three professional sports teams. When I was on the council, that, I mean, that was not even imaginable. That we would lose three professional sports teams, but it happened. Hotels have closed down. Businesses have gone. So we do recognize that what happens out there at this site is fundamentally important. So I want the investors once again. And I also want, I think hopefully the A's are listening to a want of the investors to know we want to move this forward. We are further long today than we were when we started this journey in October, much further long and where I think we're positioned at a place where we can take it across the finish line. So I'm hoping I'm hoping I'm hoping that tomorrow at the negotiating table that our negotiators and negotiators from OAC can come to a meeting of the minds and bring this back to the board next Tuesday. So, Professor Bass, what's that on the back? Thank you, President Halbert. And I do appreciate everyone coming here to speak. And as you all know, I sat at the City Council last year and for many years prior. So I have seen many signs of this particular transaction and this project. As was said earlier, while we are not voting and taking action on the project itself, that project does represent hope. It represents opportunity. It represents progress. And I'm all behind that 100% in. So we do have an historic opportunity in front of us to move forward transformational progress and development, not only for East Oakland, but for Oakland in the region. And I know you are here because you know that the the counties actions are critical. This is a unique transaction because it involves not only OAC, it also involves CWP. So parties that are connected to AACG and the Oakland A's. So it's very complex. I really want to commend both of my colleagues who are here on this dice with me today because we are very committed to this going forward. There's been tremendous progress while I've been here and certainly since January 14th when President Habbert took over and when we both brought forward legislation to sort of roll up our sleeves and make sure we provided enough guidance to the staff to move forward. So I do believe that we now have very clear guidance that we have provided as a board to the negotiating team. Like my colleagues, I am very hopeful that tomorrow when the parties meet that we will get the documents that we are waiting for and that the negotiations will be such that we can move forward and move forward quickly. I don't want to wait any longer to move forward and I know that the conditions are such that it's possible to do so and I think supervisor Miley for sending the message to investors that we want this deal to happen. We are doing our part to make it happen to the city of Oakland here as well. We know this is critical for the entire city as well as for the region. There's so much hope and opportunity here and I wanna see that progress. So I am looking forward to hearing good news by the time we're back on this dius on Tuesday. Thank you. I note that there was a request Can the attorney Devon Pope at is he online and can he speak and so if he is and willing to speak he could raise his hand And so we'll wait and see he is I guess he can say what he would then I have a question for him. Go ahead, Mr. Popehead. Thank you for being here. Thank you, President. I did his death in Popehead from Cadmiumian and Council, and part of the negotiating team for OAC. Appreciate all the efforts of the board and the staff in negotiating. It seems like we've made much progress today. We are committed to working and finalizing the documents. We have a call schedule with the team for tomorrow and we will work diligently to finalize the documents. One clarification, we will provide a quick, claim deed form and hopefully get that finalized with the team tomorrow. I don't think that'll be an issue, but Kimberly mentioned the release and the litigation. And I don't think that is an item that is provided for as a condition to closing and the assignment. And we will work with the various parties to get that resolved as quickly as possible. But that's one item that I don't think will get resolved tomorrow. Well, I guess the documents provide that they're a condition for closing. No, I really appreciate that. So a question and I'll just make the statement. It sounds like, and correct me if I'm wrong, it sounds like you're going to come ready, willing, and able to have a very robust negotiating session tomorrow where we can get as this done or as close as possible. Is that what I'm hearing you say? That's right. We are committed to that. And on our side, Kimberly, you've said it before as well. We're going to come tomorrow ready to get this done as best we can. We always say we, our negotiating team, we're going to come make progress. Is that right? Yes, we are striving to make that happen. We can discuss the release documents tomorrow in our negotiation because I believe we're waiting for some language to review. So yeah. The form our understanding is yeah they're going to bring the form of the release document. Coming online and with CBE. Is there anything else that you wanted to mention Mr. Popehead? No, we appreciate the progress that was made today, and we look forward to working with the negotiating team tomorrow to finalize documents. Thank you. Godspeed to both of you. Both of your team in our side. Thank you. With that said, if there's no other business before us and I'm looking at county council no other report out Thank you all for attending. Let's make this happen have a good evening We're adjourned Recording stopped
