All right. Welcome everyone to downtown Rec here at New Rock. My name is Ben Priseum. The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for our great city of Nurechelle. And this is an exciting day because this is a long, long day coming. This has been in the works for years and courtesy and with all of the donations and support and really backing of Audi of Nurechelle, we're able to make this happen. So we're very proud to be here today. We've had some short little stints of a soft opening programming wise, which I'll get to, but I think years and years from now, for our department to finally have an indoor space to call our own. We're going to look back with this current administration and be very, very proud. So everybody give yourselves a round of applause. We're here for this historic thank. I'd like to acknowledge all the elected and city officials that are here. You're going to hear from our mayor and our city manager and just a bit but I want to to thank the commissioners that are here, Fire Commissioner Andy Sandor, Buildings Commissioner Paul Vaca. I want to thank our police department that is here. Deputy City Manager Todd Castaldo, Public Works is here. I want to give a special shout out to Adam Selgado in the development department that really was the driving force with this years and years ago and this is so important to our department. Our office for the aging from our Hugh Doyle senior center staff is here, our youth bureau staff is going to be a big part of this and we're very grateful and obviously as a department of parks and recreation we could be not, couldn't be more thrilled. And obviously thank you to our communications and marketing staff for being a part of this today. I want to especially thank our NINA Gainer, obviously Deputy Commissioner Lauren O'Connor and NINA Gainer, the head of recreation and our recreation crew, Ariel Mike, Lisa Flowers, especially this is going to kind of be her baby moving forward. Our Secretary of our department, Diana Delayo, they really dove into this as like their passion project. And this is going to be awesome for a great time to come. Parks supervisor, Brian O'Rourke is here. Our guys helped spruce this place up a little bit as well. Audi NĂ¼rshel. Ivan Baros and Sean Chekama. Where are they? Raise your hands. Thank you guys for being a part of this. I be remiss. You're going to see a quote from him in the press release. I'd be remiss if I didn't bring up John Kaufman from Manhattan Motor Cars, the ownership group of Audi Nurechelle who really is making this possible from a funding standpoint. I want to thank Christina Damiamo from Cushman and Wakefield with New Rock Management and my man Mel Richards, Mel. Mel is the unofficial bouncer in bodyguard at downtown wreck. We could talk about that off camera later. Mel's our main man, whenever we need to get in here. But this is going to be a great space for fun learning, recreation of all ages. You know, kids are in school all day, but you could have senior recreation during the day. Whether it's yoga and other abilities. We have Bracey, which is right down the street. And to have our first indoor community be in the downtown is absolutely awesome. We've been in soft opening mode we kicked off our opening a couple of months ago we had a tailgating party if you remember downtown here a cheer demonstration that was over a hundred kids and then since then we've been trying to program and activate we've kind of been in that mode of when a restaurant has a soft open before they officially cut the ribbon to knock out all the kinks so be it. So we've had cheer clinic and partnership with Rain All Stars cheerleading, tumbling teamwork. We've had little hoopers to where we've had pre-K and kindergarten kids in here with the baskets only this high which has been cute on Saturday mornings. We've had science explorers with the youth bureau. We've had mommy and me for guardians and children bonding and playing together. We've had little movers. Children's three through five years old about ballet hip hop tap. We even had an adult cornhole here which started small. We have a very passionate DPW team. So Brian Bracey could report back your crew loves cornhole. And that's going to continue this summer. And finally, the youth bureau in Shayla Brackle, we have a home for the elite and try to affect the steppers, which is awesome as well. So that's just the beginning. We're pumped about this. And we hope eventually you get to the point where there's visibility and engagement and people see activities going on a Ton so without further ado, I'd like to bring up our mayor you Deir Aramos Herbert Thank you permission of Perisi and just to add I mean just to echo really everything you just said This is such a great reflection of what a public private partnership can do. And so while we are investing in our downtown, this space is a literal demonstration of the investment in our people, in our kids, and in our, I was told not to call them seniors, mature adults, and giving them a space that they can grow, learn, and be in community. And as I think of this summer, when there's really hot days, a little service, a cooling center for our residents. So such investment in New Rochelle right here, and I'm just so proud of our professional staff. Thank you, Audi, for really helping such a champion for us on this part. And I'm just looking, I can't wait to hear kids here. It's going to be so much fun this day every day after school or on the weekend just hearing the kids having fun in this space that the city has created for them. Thank you I'd also like to recognize from the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Katherine White, for joining us and our new Executive Director of the Downtown Bid and Gold is here. This is going to be an awesome hub for activity and our programming and special events. And who knows moving forward. That's kind of like the fun part of this in the downtown that it's a blank slate. So without further ado, please welcome City Manager Will Melendez. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks, Ben. First of all, I want to thank out for your partnership here for making this happen. Development staff, all the years of hard work and our parks and rec staff that really put their hearts into this space. It's just another example of our commitment, you know, City Nurse Shell's commitment to really providing an outlet and an asset for our residents and our community. It's a year, it's a program to allow ourselves, our residents, to use this facility year round. I think it's the first brick and mortar recreational spot that parks and wrecks would actually operate. So we're really looking forward to it. I think it's a great benefit to the community and we're really proud of the work that we put in. So thank you very much. Yeah, so we're thrilled about this downtown wreck. Obviously, this sense from marketing and branding standpoint stands for recreation, enrichment and community. So you're going to see that branding throughout hopefully. So where is Lauren? There's usually when I look at Lauren's at them, am I missing anything? We're good. Double thumbs up. That's all good. So once again, I don't think you really like need tour, need a tour, because the slate is clean. We obviously have a dividing curtain. But the biggest thing is just keep an eye out. Keep an eye out. We want to market, we want to brand, we want to program, we want to activate, and we're going to get this all over our social media, and we want to have a presence here, and is making it a place to where if you don't have something coming up here within the next few weeks, if you're a family, you could come by and check things out and see what's going on and we have a true lobby area to where you can really engage with the public. So that's exciting. and staff is here, we could all hang out, we could chat afterwards if media needs to want to talk to the city manager or mayor further. But thanks for coming and now is the part where we're going to get the big rift. We could all hang out. We could chat afterwards if media needs to want to talk to the city manager and mayor further. But thanks for coming and now is the part where we're going to get the big ribbon and scissors out and we're all going to get in front of here and have a blast. Thank you. Three, two, one. Smith? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
