We'll now be breaking into close session before we do. James, anyone of the public like to give a comment regarding our close session items. Seeing none at this moment, Mayor. Okay, then at this point, we will convene upstairs for closed session. And again, this is for the organization, uh, separate meeting. We will have the special meeting for 630. So we should be finished well before then. Thank you so much. Coming up. We, uh, I want to just take a moment to report out. We were a closed take a moment to report out. We just have a couple, just a couple things on the consent that like my colleagues too, I'm gonna ask if there are any items you'd like to pull out for discussion. I would like to pull out item number 3.7 because I do understand we have some little league champs in the building. We want to make sure we give you guys an opportunity. But other than that, are there any other items that you'd like to pull out for discussion? All right. Then I'm happy to entertain a motion to approve all the items All right. Then I'm happy to entertain a motion to approve all the items barring the 3.7. Apologies. I did receive a speaker slip to pull item 3.3 as well. You got it. We'll do 3.3 first and then we'll do 3.7. Other than that. Okay. Did I get a make a motion okay has been moving seconded I got moved okay then moved and seconded by my colleagues to the left all's in favor please vote with a sign of aye aye aye thank you so much item 3.3 this is the adoption of the RBD for corner specific plan ordinance and related EPA municipal code amendment ordinance. The staff want to give just a quick a quick context and then we'll go to public comment. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was. No, it's okay. Repeat your question, please. No, no worries. Just for the adoption of the RBD, there's a question or public comment can go ahead. No, this should be public. So technically, members of the public can't pull items. They can make comments on the calendar. So the gentlemen may make a comment. But we're not doing Q&A. All right. So just for the record, my motion approves the approval of everything minus the one you pulled. Does that make sense? I mean, close. Yeah, okay. Thank you. All right. Is reflected, Mr. Francois. All right. It's reflected. Mr. Francois. I don't think and the seconder agrees. Thank you And if you knew how much time are you giving me? You've taken up some time to make some two minutes sir two minutes or two minutes. I'll leave on front swap to mayor council mimics of the public Ravenswood Gorgas products and Ravenswood community Inord, Kiss Products, and Ravenswood Community in School District History Survey. I am opposed to any effort to finalize the draft EAR of this project that's matured over the past 14 years and for the following stated reasons. Bear with me while I get myself coordinated. Let me brace nothing to your attention prior to my getting decision about the current owners of the Regments Wood of the four corners property across the street. Mr. Mrs. Powell. And Mr. Powell apparently has been in the business of redeveloping Silicon Valley projects for the past 30 years. He has a massive degree in construction management from Stanford University. And I'm going to go in to say the property that is the inch pan of East Pellar Alto's redevelopment plan at the corner of University Avenue Bay Road has been sold to east to San Hill property company the company announced any press release of Monday the 6.8 acre property at 1675 Bay Road the site of the long demolished Nairobi shopping center sits in the city, sits in the city, and has been designated as a potential mixed use residential hub of the Ravenswood Business Development Project. The city's 2013 Ravenswood Four Corners Development-specific plan. And if you pay attention to the standing accommodation that I gave to a community member who passed over the past couple of weeks, this is past Harry, Mr. Randolph, Alan Parker. Mr. Parker contributed most of his life like many other African Americans to that project. And the United Nations contributed to it also. That's the beginning of my opposition. And as this project matured, you're going to hear more from me being that I'm a historian for the Ravenswood community history survey. Thank you very much. And I do not ever get enough time to say what I need to say. Maybe next time. Have a good evening. Thank you. It does look like we have some hands raised as well in the audience. So I'll, I'll out in the speak. Miss Bryant, can you please unmute yourself? I'm going to ask you to ask a question. Ms. Bryant, can you please unmute yourself? Yes, thank you. Actually, my hands have been raised since you guys started walking in. I wanted consent calendar item number 3.5 to be pulled so I can make comments. I don't have any comments for this particular one. The 3.5 I do. Sure. What Mrs. Brown, why don't you go ahead and give your comments for 3.5? Apologize for that. Okay, that's fine. Okay, so you know, I'm always here when I see displeased vehicles. I've brought this up several times before and I have spoken to the Chiefs. We've kind of answered a few of my questions. I'm asking to please include in reports the specific dates of purchase and mileage of vehicles to be replaced. I'm also asking number two that this nearly 20 year old guy wind be updated to reflect the current state of novel electric vehicle technology, which I believe will warrant extending the replacement time in my wish. I'd also like to see a report of maybe what other cities guidelines are with respect to their guidelines in terms of vehicle replacement. And so the last thing I want to point out is that we have a deficit, a general fund deficit, right? And we're looking at spending over $200,000 evaluating the feasibilities of electrical vehicles when we already have findings in the Chiefs report that they are not good for emergency services with regards to emergency lights turning off once an officer walks away. So they will not be used into capacity of traffic control and traffic stops, which are some of the things that the community has continuously complained about in addition to parking enforcement. But I have learned from speaking to the chief that these vehicles will not be replacing those vehicles that are used for traffic control and traffic stops. These indeed are supposedly going to be replacing marked vehicles. So I'm still on the fence in terms of that because I'm thinking maybe we can test the feasibility. I know that there's some sort of laws that we are supposed to be trying to get caught up to from the state. From speaking with the chief. I'd say maybe one vehicle. And if we replace some vehicles that's used them for what we are currently experiencing, which is traffic problems, parking problems. And so, and short, maybe one vehicle, but not three. And last year, I want to reiterate, please, can we revisit this guideline, this nearly 20-year-old guideline and perhaps extend the mileage in the years of these vehicles? I'm going to repeat again. We are in a general phone deficit. We have a new president that's coming in that's vowing not to give money to San Diego State. Thank you, Ms. Brain. We may need to use some of this money for us and what we have going here in East Powell. Well, thank you. Thank you, Ms. Bryant. Thank you. We do also have another speaker slip for item 3.3 from a scale Wilkerson. Evening Council. Yeahans Wallace regarding Peter Powell. He also, in addition to what he's mentioned, he owns 1,80 one apartment units on the west side and I consider him a slum lar. Okay. I mean I got the evidence. I mean if you go to the rent board hearings you'll see where he and his property and Grace star who is notorious. I mean it is not in the United States in Europe, or where they offend tenets. East Ful Alto is 60% renters, and Mr. Powell is a violator, and also believe in the separation between church and state. He's trying to weave his way through. It's nice being kind to people, but he's trying to take over. And he should be, sit letters saying, stop being a slum lord. And that's basically what he is. Instead of improving his tenets of lives, he goes out of his way to retaliate. And I'm not going to mention or going to be president's name, but he's almost as bad as he is. I just wanted that to be on the record about Mr. Powell. And they ignite the peace. What do you call it, Carnival? That he puts on. That's part of him trying to ingratiate his way into the city, but he doesn't take care of his tenants. Charging $3,000 a month for an apartment, put it in repairing the elevators, the electrical system, the sewer, and everything else, like he's supposed to. the city. And I put it in repairing the elevators, the electrical system, the sewer and everything else like he supposed to and it doesn't seem like the city. Here's much about that because you're letting him get away with it. Thank you. Thank you. Those are last speaker. Thank you very much. I'd like to bring and thank you for your comments members of the public. Moving on to item 3.7. We are a firm believer of this council to give folks their roses. And certainly we are a city of champions. And we have before us this evening a recognition of the wonderful work of the Ravenswood Little League 12 to 14 junior falls ball championship. I want to please give a round of applause for the Ravenswood. We are here to celebrate here to celebrate. I'll read the proclamation and then I'll ask my colleagues to give a few remarks, but I'll just say whereas there's been a long history and EPA in achieving various fields and excitement. We recognize the Ravens of the Little League juniors team, the Wolf Pack for the remarkable accomplishment of winning the District 52 Fall ball championship. They are sponsored. The Wolfpack is sponsored by the Widenja painting. They've exemplified determination, teamwork and skill throughout their journey, overcoming challenges of playing games on the road to achieve an impressive five to three regular season record in a trial and fit play run playoff run on November 9th. And during that journey, they secured victors against Redwood City, Foster City, Mill Bray, culminating in exhilarating seven to four championship win over the Foster City team. Their accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of manager Bruce Swain and coach Paul Aguilar, Johnny Vickers, Augustine Flores, whose leadership and guidance were instrumental in their success around the applause for those gentlemen as well, please. And we also, of course, we wanna celebrate the athletes, the players, the folks who make our city look good. The Marco Thomas, Oscar Barron Jr. Zachary Flores, Lucas Ortiz Esteban Utado Joseph Ochoa Roger Aguilar Sebastian Aguilar Eduardo Riz Jackson Dumas Juan Pablo Ramirez Yeshua Cuffy Leo Tali Kevin Duarte Jorge Pinto Jr. Matthew Flores and Dominique Channel a round of applause for those names as well. I'm almost done. I'm sorry I'm taking so much time. I don't get to do this at all. So whereas the success of this championship reflects the collaborative spirit of the community, which includes invaluable support of our sponsors. I want to give a shout out to Aranya painting, Kenyatta College. I saw President Pimentel here this evening, shout out to Kenyatta College, the Acha Medical Hunger Program, 280 Earth, Israeli and plumbing, and many others as well as, of course, your truly city of our support of youth programs, spearheaded by our Parks and Rec, Mr. Maurice Baker, Dr. Paws, Mr. Maurice. So it is my pleasure to say the City of East Paul to hear by honors the Ravenswood Little League Baseball 12-14 Junior Team Champions champions the wolf pack for your outstanding and positive impacts to the community. We commend your dedication, your resilience, your leadership, anything you want to chime in? Any other remarks you'd like to add on this, a suspicious occasion, and then I'll open up for the public as well to chime in. Through the chair, I just want to say congratulations to all those who have been involved in this. I remember Martin Luther King Park, Johnny Vickers, I'm looking at you. You played at that park and the importance of having an asset where our youth can be can be successful. We need to continue to invest in our youth. They are our future and make sure they have the right tools. With that being said, if there's anyone out there that would like to help this team get a scoreboard that actually works, we're looking to get a scoreboard for MLK Park, but to all of the coaches, to all of the teams and the families. Thank you so much for continuing the work. Baseball has always been important to East Palo Alto. We wanted to continue to be important. And again, congratulations on an amazing season. Thank you, Councilmember. Other colleagues on the council? Vice Mayor Baragand? Yes, hi. I actually wanted to have the people that were mentioned in the proclamation that they're here to actually stand so that we won't forget their faces when they make it national, please. So if your name was called in the proclamation, if you could please stand up so we can give you another big warm hand. Let's not forget those faces because when we see them on nationals we're gonna say that they were they started here in our city so thank you so much for making us proud keep up the good job. Thank you. Thanks, Vice Mayor. Great suggestion. Council Member Rico. Yeah, well, congratulations. And I know that the Ravenswood Little League has a long, long history. And you know, when things like this happen that you're successful beyond our borders, it really brings a lot of pride not only to us and the council here, but to the entire community and to different generations. And I think that I wasn't able to make to these final games. But next season, I'll keep an eye on it. And definitely let us know if you still do the parade. I know that traditionally there's been a parade or an opening day because I think that's good to get on board from the beginning so we find out your schedules and stuff. But congratulations again, everybody. Thank you. Thank you, Councilmember. If there are no further remarks on the, on the, on the dius, I'd like to open it up for public comment if there are any remarks you'd like to say if there's any members of the public If you like to suffer the record, you know, we'll put James will put this in the minutes and it'll be known that in 2024 The folks who spoke sealed their their approval or in commendation. So if you'd like Did receive one speaker slip from Joy Jamison? Evening I don't I'm going to be working on the score board because that was going to be one of my requests. We have so much talent in our little city and our baseball play. I'm going to be working on the score board because that was gonna be one of my requests. We have so much talent in our little city and our baseball players deserve a really nice working scoreboard and I was also gonna ask if we could possibly get some lights in our field. When the time change, it gets stark fast. When it gets dark, we can't practice. If we had a little more practice, we probably would have been eight and no. So if we could consider getting some lights for us, maybe hopefully next season and a scoreboard, so we can contend with some of the teams that we play outside of our city, that would be awesome. And maybe later down the road, we can consider opening back up our snack bar for fundraisers for jerseys with our kids name on the back. So we can look like the well oil machines that we are when we hit the field and went. Thank you. Definitely looking to my colleagues to make sure that's something that we prioritized into our staff. What we can do, I know we had a smart lights installed in some parks, but want to make sure that they actually are working for our champions. So, colleagues, any last comments before we, I formally entertain a motion to adopt this resolution of proclamation? I do see on there is a speaker with their hand raised on zoom. Yeah. I'm going to go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and David Rages. Thank you so much. Look, I'm so proud. I'm so proud of these kids on the Wolfpack. A couple years ago I said, you know what? We're going to keep these kids playing. You know, it's been so many years. I've been coaching for 30 years. And it's so many times where kids say they want to keep playing baseball and they can't, because there was no place to play an EPA. Okay? Unless they want to pay $400 or $500 or no play, how I'll tell Babe Ruth or for Belmont Babe Ruth, we put the program here and we're like, no, you stay here, play with us us and that was fall 23 we didn't have a place to play for the older kids because our fields are not big enough for them yet now they they put in the work the rest of the kids are all all of our kids from ages seven all the way to 12 a lot of them are here too because they support our program. They love playing baseball rapes with Little League. I love coaching them and working with them. This is why I'm here. I love this city. I love to coach baseball and EPA. I love helping run this program. I'm so proud of these Wolfpack team because a lot of those kids are kids that I coached myself and taught how to play this game. Johnny, he's been such a huge force in this community. I mean, I'm just looking at kids here. A couple of kids, they took a year off and came back, helped us win the championship. So I'm just really, really, really proud of it. Lucas is right there, one of the kids I started off with. He was like seven. And, you know, he said he had you want to you said he wanted to say something to you guys is that okay if I haven't come up Lucas come on up I was just going to talk about how much baseball meant to me and how much baseball changed my life. And if we could still have baseball so that I could change other kids' lives too, like it didn't mind. When I first started baseball, I found a passionate love with baseball that I didn't find with any other thing. And baseball really changed my life too, because when I had other problems in life, I knew that I could go to baseball and it was like a relaxation. It like, it helped me relax and it was just fun. And I didn't really, if I lost, it wasn't as much as a toll as if I lost in any other sports since I loved baseball so much. I just wanted to keep getting better and better. So if we could have another field for older kids, younger kids, so that they could also have this chance and to experience what I experience, I would gladly enjoy that a lot. And it was sad that we didn't have a field because we had to play games away, which is basically where you had to play at different other parks that weren't yours. And I wish that we could play in EPA, but we didn't have the chance to do that, since we didn't have a field to play at. So I hope that later that we could have a field where we, like older kids, younger kids, could actually have a championship and win here, because I didn't get that chance. So I hope we could give that chance to other kids. Thank you. He's not me one of us making it playing in high school and keeping going along with a lot of our kids. But thank you so much, City Council. I really appreciate you guys in a proclamation today. And thank you families for coming out and supporting the program. Without you, we wouldn't be able to do anything. So thank you families for coming out and supporting the program. Without you, we wouldn't be able to do anything. So thank you. Thank you for your service, Demis Arrages. Can I say one more thing? Of course. We should all be standing up for 30 years of dedication to baseball in the city of East Palo Alto. This man has given up himself to the community. Thank you, Councilmember. As you can see, there's no shortage of love and appreciation for you guys tonight. And we want you to win more championships down the road. And we are certainly working on that Babe Ruth baseball stay tuned field. But in the meantime, I'm real proud to present to you all the proclamation. Wait, do we even. So I think I'll all amend my motion to include 3.7 because we did not do the full consent calendar. So so the motion is to approve all. All right. I will accept that. I'm in it. Okay. It has been moved and we have some public comment. It's still part of the bacon. I was the head coach of the okay. Why don't we prove it and then we'll go to the public comment. Is that all right? City Attorney's that'll keep we do it. All right. All those in favor and approving this resolution. Please vote a sign of I yes, I Pologies, I didn't catch the motion in the second motion. Okay. Thank you So now it's officially approved, but yes, sir, please I'm Johnny Vickers. I'm assistant coach. This is here coach. Yeah This this plant this little thing came this idea this idea that me coaching and literally came last year at the celebration that they had. I wrote on the back of in the parade with her in the senator or candidate and we talked about me and him talked about baseball and this is like a dream come true. Within one year, we did something with these kids that hasn't been done in 40 to 50 years, which is amazing. So I'm proud of what these kids did at practice. The way we won our games, it wasn't how we did at baseball, it wasn't we did at practice. They enjoyed playing run down at practice. They hit the ball and we forced them to run, run, run, run. And that's the same way we beat this team and we won a championship four games. The Foster City team was seven and old when we played them in the regular season and they wiped us out. And we controlled them seven to four. And in that game, they bought an empire into the game. I went to the mound to talk to Lucas and I said, Lucas, how you doing? He said, if I say the empire is called a terrible isn't he? He said, kind of. I said, look how they try to make me go back to the doubt. I said, just take your time and do your best and hit that chest. Protect it. And guess what? He shut them down. So I love what he said tonight and I look forward to coaching him again and follow him in baseball. In 1971 when I played Little League, that's when the year, the last time we won a flag. Wow, that's wow, so this amazing with these kids did I look forward to help with them next year This is what it's about this is giving these flags is what it's This is what it's about. This is giving these flags is what it's, this is what it's about. It's baseball. And nobody, we can't do this. We can't do this. We can't do this. We can't do this. We can't do this. We can't do this. We can't do this. Thank you. Did you clear, are there any additional folks commenting? Not this time. If not, I have the proclamation. I'd like to ask Mr. Rages and all those who'd like to come up for a picture. Is that all right with you all? And I'd like to present it to you all and just officially commemorate this moment. All right. So for those who want to come up in front, we're going to take a picture and present the proclamation Mr. David Reagan. I'm going to say everybody. Part of the way. Oh, okay. Well, you're going to get put through the spot. You're going to use the manner of one of the reasons why you're going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. I'm going to move to the next slide. And then I don't know if it's right or not. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's right. It's it. Well, come on. Let's say, well, that's it. Well, All right, Council members, they did they did they're probably got to do ours and beautifying that park for them. All right we are thank you so much everybody I feel my heart I'm sure everybody feels the same way so I appreciate that moving on to item four closed session there are none number five public comment this is an opportunity for members of the public to give comments that are not on the council so for here to talk about our outgoing council members or the schedule for next year. Hold, please. Otherwise, James, do we have any folks who like to get public comment? Yes, we did receive two speaker slips from Michael Levin, good to see you. Yeah. You can hear me now. Okay. Good evening, Mayor, Vice Mayor, Council Members. My name is Michael Levin. I think a lot of people know that. And I've done a lot of work around East Palo Alto over the years. I wanted to take a chance to address the last meeting of the outgoing council that adopted the building the Just City motto. And the motto comes from the book by planning theorist Susan Fountstein, the Just City. And as far as I know, East Palo Alto is the only city in the world that has adopted this idea as part of its formal motto. But you also have sister cities that are inspired by the same themes in their affordable housing efforts and social justice efforts, such as the city of Vienna in Europe, which actually just had a book about it, Vienna is still a just city. And in California itself, the city of West Hollywood, which actually incorporated just a year after East Palo Alto, also in large measure driven by a desire for rent control. So building on the new motto as part of EPS brand, I hope in the future to be able to leverage the motto to build connections and exchange on the theme of the just city. For Susan Fancyne, she did this by comparing New York, London, and Amsterdam, and what I would like to do despite their radical differences is a comparative study of East Palo Alto, West Hollywood, and Vienna. And for the purpose of this, I've registered the web domain newjustcity.org for this project, and I'll provide more information about it as it develops. Thank you very much. Thank you, 11. Thank you. Next speaker, Gail Wilkerson, followed by Adrian Bryant on Zoom. Good evening, Council. I want to stay positive because I'm looking so forward to it and I'm excited about the new console. You guys have been nice. Some more than others, more pleasant. Follow Martha, okay. I want to be at the end of this year that it is my intentions being in real estate. I understand the plane and I'm hoping that you guys will and the upcoming ones will improve the life of our citizens. If you improve the life of our citizens, the city will prosper. I mean, maybe even go back to what people weren't aware of that we used to have a great middle class, government workers from all across the board. I mean, the hospital postal service did defense, but they were quiet, quiet, and they laid back and then finally they had to, some of them died, but I want the quality of our citizens to prosper and pay attention to the people. We have 60% renters pay attention to them. And if the landlords don't comply, dissolve them like you did the sanitary district. It's easy. Get rid of them. They're parasite on East Palo Alto. That's all. And happy new year. Thank you. Our next speaker, Adrian Bryan. Mr. Bryan? Lo and Mr. Bryan. Yes, thank you, Mr. Colin, Adrian Bryan here. This probably would have been more apropos for the closed session item, but I'm sorry, I wasn't able to make that meeting. I just wanted to speak out because whenever I see performance reviews over and over again, it means there's still some negotiation that's going on. And again, I made these same comments during your last meeting. I really want you to look at what our city manager has done with regards to putting in some sort of program with his staff about what it means to work in East Palo Alto. I also want to acknowledge his input or having the input from small business people in the community to weigh in on what's being done in the RBD or what we need as far as economic development. I also want to acknowledge our city attorney, I'm like I've told you before, I have pointed out some a few things, regards to being in violation of the Brown Act, he very quickly took care of that. Both of these two individuals have been very responsive to my questions and my inquiries and when I bring things to their attention. And I would love to see that they get their compensation what they deserve. We need some people in leadership to steer the rest of our staff and have that continuity given them what they're worth and what from my experience I can vouch for as being very available to the community. And maybe I need to do this at every consent calendar, even if I don't see it on closed session, just remind you, please go ahead and let's get them up to par with their compensation so that we can retain these two individuals. That's all thank you. Thank you. Those are last speaker. Thank you very much. Mr. Colleen. All right. On to policy in action 6.1. So I suppose never done this before, but this is for as you all know, we have two outgoing customers and two new customers joining this body. And so I guess we're starting with myself. I'm not sure is there a staff report, Melvin, or is there a presentation? How does it work? Do I have to accuse myself for a vote? Or how does that? We do have some speaker slips for this item. So starting with, it's Priscilla Molina, followed by Miles Goodman and Larry Moody. So if you can please. Oh yeah. Hello everyone, good evening. So my name is Priscilla. I'm many familiar faces. I'm here on behalf of congressman seven mullen. So congressman mullen unfortunately cannot be here today. He is in DC, but he did want me to present this certificate to you. Mr. Lopez for your outgoing time here in the city council. So I'm just going to read a little bit of it on his behalf. So an honor and recognition of your service as city council to the city of East Paul to your commitment to the city's betterment and belief in the transformative power of education is truly commendable. May your passion and dedication continue to inspire lasting success in all your future endeavors. So thank you on his behalf and congratulations. Oh, I'm so sorry. And we are sharing a PowerPoint wall. These speeches are going on. So feel free to take a look of the different pictures of both Councilmember Lopez and Councilmember Gose. Thank you so much. Next speaker. Miles Goodman, followed by Larry Moody. Here he, cool. Thank you, council. Good evening, bonus notches. My name is Miles Goodman. I'm here on behalf of Senator Josh Becker, and it is a true privilege to stand here today on behalf of the Senator and Assembly Member Diane Papin to recognize the an honor, the extraordinary contributions of Antonio Lopez as you complete this tenure on the East Paul out of City Council. Antonio's leadership has been defined by an unwavering commitment to community. From co-founding a coalition to combat sex trafficking, to advocating for public safety measures like park cameras and license plate readers. He has not only been a public servant, but also a relentless advocate for East Paul out of families. His work in supporting college track graduates, securing funds for transient occupancy tax grants, and addressing the city's homicide rate has transformed lives and set an example for effective leadership. But a ton of dedication to public service didn't begin with council. Many of us know that he served as a case worker, first-hand, and a Josh Becker, a role that I preceded him in about a year and a half ago. You know, being a case worker requires an extraordinary sense of compassion. You're the first call for someone at their most vulnerable. Navigating systems that often seem indifferent, advocating for families and answering questions that don't always have easy solutions. It requires that your empathy cannot waver, that you meet every challenge with patients, pressure, variance, and heart. Now Tony has set the bar pretty damn high. In many ways, he has been a blueprint for my own work, his ability to connect, to build trust, to push for results, even when the odds seem long, has served as inspiration. And today, as we celebrate his accomplishments, it is clear that his work has left the lasting, at least the legacy, not just for East Palo Alto, but for all of us who strive to follow in his footsteps. Antonio, your leadership has shown us what it means to serve with integrity, humility, and purpose. As you close this chapter, know that your impact will continue to ripple across our community for generations to come. On behalf of the senator and all of us here, and with heartfelt gratitude, congratulations on a job so exceptionally well done. We wish you continued success and fulfillment in all that lies ahead. Thank you You have the picture? I'll be in the next video. You have an as mile searcher being your own. Okay. Thank you. Next speaker, Larry Moody. Good evening, Mayor Lopez, console. Larry Moody. Good evening. Good evening. Good evening. Thank you. Next speaker, Larry Moody. Mayor Lopez, Council, Larry Moody. Antonio Lopez, my mayor, this past year, I just want to celebrate you. The past four years, you have been an amazing, right, addition to the efforts and activities of San Mateo County in the peninsula community. You have not only learned well on the job, but you have also brought so many others alongside with you. The past four years, I've been very proud and honored to get to know you. I would like to call you friend. We've had some amazing conversations. I really appreciate you allowing me to help hold you just to support you, as a council member and a leader for our community. I want to share one of my proudest moments as the East Palo Alto resident occurred about the progress seminar where you and former mayor, councilperson, Lisa Yarreval Gosei were standing before a room of about 300 elected individuals. And you were debating or just sharing your hearts about why you would be best suited to serve on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. You both did an amazing job. And much of your comments, the two of you was really anchored in the fact that you wanted to represent East Paul Alta and take some of the values that we have here in East Paul Alta community and share them with San Mateo County. Our best practices are love for one another. I was so proud of you both that afternoon. And I think it's obvious, San Mateo County was proud of you as well. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your continued involvement in humanity. I know you're gonna be an individual who we are here from. I would just encourage you to look at the ongoing council members and find a way to hope their arm up, right, to mentor them, to share with them some of the practices that you valued as a city council member and certainly as the mayor of our city. You're a good person and Tony O'Lopus and we're honored to have you serve our community. Thank you. Thank you. Next speaker, Shonny Stevenson. Yeah. I am here speaking for myself. I am no longer on Sequoia, you're in high school district board as a December 12th. We get around with paustra, not needs to service. But we have a great community friend and sister, Dr. Maria Elena Cruz, who will be sworn in on tomorrow. I have four o'clock in the afternoon if you all want to come see her at the district office. So as I stand here, I'm thinking about the last four years. And this is for Antonio. And I was thinking about what can I do to honor you? So I made something for you. It's called Disruptor, a positive force of change that shakes things up to open up people up to change. And your name in Greek means ready to fight. And your name in Latin roots means strength, courage, and admirable character. And that definitely describes you for Sukhoi-Yunga high school dish, at least from my perspective, that you were a Disruptor, that you were putting us in the news before we was ready to be in the news around diversifying leadership at our school, that you were there to have the offline conversations I can talk to you about what's happening, what people are doing to address some of those needs. what people are doing to address some of those needs, although we walk away, agree to disagree, we still kept fellowship, which is important to when you're doing the work of our community. And so what I'm happy to say that we have diversified our leadership of our school. We didn't let nobody go, but when positions were open and people were qualified to do the job, they were hired based off that quotable and fair process. And so now we have our first Latina, Veronica Picney, that is the principal of EPA, A paired with an African American woman, Salita Okanuga. I think I said that right. Carla Chavez is the vice principal at Tide, paired with Simone Kennell, which is a legend in doing principal ship. We have Karen Van Putin, who is at Woodside. We have Tera Chalz, which is at Sequoia. We have Stephen Redman, who is the executive director of the middle college. We have Dr. Kenzo Salassi, which is our executive director in the Supertendons office, doing people culture and collaborations. So he's helping us deal with those kinds of needs that we have. And there's so many others that are coming through our Grow Your Own program. So when I think about the disruption you cause, it also helped us to change and to look at ourselves. It wasn't the change agent, but it also was part of the work that we were doing. So I wanted to take this time and say, thank you for going to our class, be in the poet, sharing your story, showing up at meetings when I called you to say, hey, is it just me or do we need some other voices here to speak to the truth of the area E, whether it's East Pawel Hotel, Bell Haven, or North Fair Oaks. So I wanted to take the time just to say thank you. Thank you. Next speaker Elizabeth Jackson followed by Donna Rutherford and Regina Wallace Jones. I'm going to go ahead and ask you to go ahead. You had a misjax and just press it again when it's red. Go ahead. Good evening there and councilmembers. Elizabeth Jackson for 80 East Keith. I want to thank you. Antonio Lopez for being so supportive to me personally when I was doing the speech contest for the Rotary Club. I wanted to say thank you for giving us this room. We had 100 people that was involved. 60 of them came to the event. We also this year had one of the students to go to Santa Claire University. She did, she was in the contest. We had 10 people, but five showed up. And I was very impressed how you came up and talked to them and showed them how young people you know could speak and you congratulated them. And you also was a judge, which I thought was pretty great that we had one of our city council members. I mean, I mayor to be the judge and they really liked that as well. So I wanna really thank you for that. I don't have anything to give you, except my words. Good words, I'm more than enough. Thank you, McChes. Well, I wanna thank you and I wish you the best on your new adventures, whatever you into. We also might have another speech contest and I hope the new council member will stand up for the young people in this community like you did. Thank you very much. Next speaker Donna Rutherford. Good evening mayor council members staff. Glad to be here this evening. It's been a while. I just want to. I didn't prepare a enthusiastic, very motivated. And the fact that you grew up in East Palo Alto was also amazing. As years progress, I know that it has been challenging. I'm sure you learned a lot. And this is amazing place to learn a lot. There's no place like East Palo Alto. We're very unique. And so I just want to say, as you continue your journey, to maintain your integrity, be true to yourself, and that waiver. Thank you so much for your service to this community. You next speaker Regina Wallace-Jones. Good evening Mayor Lopez. It's been two whole years since I have been in this building and I am so excited to offer remarks to you tonight. I think I was the last council member that served alongside you before the council changed and I remember feeling at that point how much excitement I had for the youthfulness that you were bringing to this role and I also remember thinking it's going to be really hard for him to do this while he's working on his PhD. And only you know what that journey was. But I can imagine that there were many sleepless nights. There were many times when you should have been studying or should have been preparing or should have been writing and instead you are doing things for the city. And for that I want to say thank you. I also want to say you made me proud, very proud on so many occasions and I really do look forward to hearing your voice. In bigger national stages you had a great race for a supervisor and I'm excited to offer my remarks to our incoming supervisor. But there I could see that you really had a very strong voice that as you continue to tune it, we will continue to hear it in this nation. Thank you for every minute of service. Thank you for every minute of sacrifice and looking for bigger things from you in the future. Congratulations to you. You like speakers to our island of all by Maria Rocha. So it is the president of St Vincent de Paul? Yes, sir. I'm still serving. Hey, Mayor Antonio Lopez. It's good to say that. But a lot of folks don't know. And Antonio was running that first time. He and I walked some some the bill. That's right. Illinois. And I was as someone said earlier, you definitely grew up here. I'll never forget the older lady who remembered you. I'm not going to say with her comment about you as a kid. You probably remember it. But from playing soccer. So, you know, you really do make the city proud. A product of East Palo Alto. And folks need to know as great as you are, you are not that uncommon. There's some great young people who are not that uncommon. You know, I'm not going to say that I'm not that uncommon. I'm not going to say that I'm not that uncommon. make the city proud. A product of East Palo Alto and folks need to know as great as you are, you are not that uncommon. There's some great young folks out there for sure that we have, these seeds are planted throughout the United States of America. But for you here now, I have to echo what my sister Regina said, bigger things. So looking forward to that and supporting that when it comes. Thank you. Thank you. Nice speaker Maria Rocha. Hello, me here Lopez, council members, staff. I wanted to say how incredibly proud I am of Tony. So for those of you that may not know that, I was Tony's kindergarten teacher. What year, 1998? So you know talent, you do see it. And he just had this inquisitive mind, even as a young boy. And let me tell you, he would hug me and follow me everywhere in the room. He had a heart of gold. And I just want to say that during this race, he, well, actually, let me back it up a bit. When he found out I was diagnosed with breast cancer, he was at an Duke. And somehow I don't know how he found out, but he and his mother came to see me. And I thought that was extremely beautiful that even after all the years had gone by, he could still remember his kindergarten teacher, who was probably a hundred pounds lighter and much more and I don't know. But definitely the love that I have for my community, the children that I've taught, and the love that my parents have put in my heart, definitely comes from God. You know, the love of God's flowing through us in us throughout the community. And so I just wanted to say how incredibly proud. And it was really a turnaround circle, 360 moment when he helped me, giving me advice and then when he sent me a text and he said, I'm so incredibly proud to vote for you, Maestra. And so thank you so much. Everyone has already spoken beautifully, but I just want to say how incredibly proud I am of you. Love you. Thank you. In our last speaker, Adrian Bryan. Thank you. That evening, Mr. Lopez, I just wanted to say to you, I appreciate the surface that you've done to our community. I really admire. Sometimes you came out of the fire, even from me, but every time you took it with such grace, you took it with just, I'm just gonna sit back on the listen with humility. I appreciate that from you. In fact, I really found it very, something I felt like I could learn from, right? You never even invoke any personal privilege to explain yourself. You took it all with grace under that fire, even for me at times. So I am so grateful for your services community. I'm so interested to know and see what you're going to be doing outside of this community, whatever your next endeavors are. And I still want to, like I mentioned, when you were first seated, I would love to speak to you and just learn about, you know, how you marched you to beat of your own drum, just like me. But also, I want to caution you to pay attention to some of the laws and things, I'm not sure who's in your camp, but if I can ever be a help to you, I will always be that angel on your shoulder. Say, maybe you should do it like this, if you're open to it. But I'm gonna be watching, I'm gonna be looking out for what you do, and I might be that person. Throw you under the bus. But I will always reach out to you to let you know, here's what I see. And maybe this is how you may be able to turn course. But again, I'm so impressed as a young man, how you have taken some of the fire you have received from the community with such grace. God bless you. I'm so interested to see what you do next. Thank you for your service Antonio. I think those are our last speaker. Thank you James. I'll be brief. I just want to say what what an honor has been to be on the council and I want to echo what Stewart you know Stewart There's one thing I always think about what Stewart says the DNA of a city and we do have a DNA of a city We have values. We have honors We have a of protecting the most vulnerable of being a just city like leaving said and if there's any way I could have been a grain of salt in that journey. I'll go to sleep at night better. But really, I just wanna say what an honor it's been to serve you all, has not been perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I've learned so much. And I'm sure everyone in the council agrees, like part of the beauty of being on the council is you get to see such a beautiful cross section of the community, like the folks who knock on the doors you meet, the people you speak to, even if they disagree with you, like the privilege and pleasure of being able to disagree and being able to debate, like, where is this city going? And what future do we have? And development and housing, like, it's a privilege to do this. And I would not be here or not for Barbara Mouton and Mr. Abrika and the people who founded this city 40 years ago. I'm incredibly humbled. I'll ever thank to God, to my family, to my partner, to people who, and as well as my peers, who shoulders I also stand on. So thank you so much for this opportunity. I thank you for your grace. I thank you for the warm remarks and accolades. Mr. Moody ahead has been a privilege to be your successor. You have been such a Godfather to me, former Mayor Regina Wallace Jones, I appreciate your spirit, your brilliance, your intellect, the hope you have for the city. Miss Rutherford, I appreciate your service and the Mosquito Vector Commission, as well as other things that you still do for the city. But seriously, like the fact that we had the Ravenswood Little League tonight shows you what we're going as a community. We got our problems, we're changing the community, lot anxiety of what we live, but I have a lot of faith that we're gonna keep moving with the right people, with the right momentum. And so I will be on the sidelines for now, cheering on the new council members, Mr. Dynan and Mr. Lincoln. I wish you nothing but success. I hope you guys have as much fun, I guess, lack of a better word as I have had on this council. Thank you very much, guys, really. Thank you so much. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Thanks, guys. It makes sense. So the chair may be in order for council members to make some comments. Sure. I'm so sorry. No, you know, I want to say that over the last four years, getting to know you as a person and definitely in the roles that we play on the council, as you stated, I think, you know, I definitely put you in the category which people have already stated of the people who were born and raised in this Palo Alto because many of us who are age and have been involved in the community were not born nor raised in this Palo Alto. And so it's really very significant and very important that you decided to run, that you won, that you really got into it. And I know that we've had our disagreements, but it's all part of the politics when you have debates, you have issues. We're not going to agree all the time. But I'm definitely very proud to see you juggling different things that are very, very important. There are not easy to do, particularly when a previous generation didn't have that, for example, I mean, I don't know, but I assume that you might be the first one in your family to be getting a PhD. Is that correct? Yeah. So, even that in itself, the fact that, you know, getting through that, getting to that point in and of itself. So you know, you were juggling that and then you were juggling the politics and East Palo Alto, which in my experience, we're a very lively political community, right? And so I want to congratulate you for having put in the time and the energy and represented the city and your role is mayor. And you know wish you the best. And I know also with your family obviously we're always dealing with family issues, your job. So you'll probably get a little more rest now that you'll be off the council. But I'm sure that you're engaged in, you know, other things too. So, you know, I want to wish you the best of luck and I look forward to reading some of the things you'll be writing after your PhD. Have you finished there? You're almost finished. I'm in my fifth and final year. Okay. There you go. See, so even that in itself. Congratulations, Antonio. Thank you, sir. And I want to say for the record, I'm not trying to be cheesy here, but I truly do stand on your shoulders. And it's I feel that way for all of you guys, but it is an incredibly humbling thing and a beautiful thing that East Paul to his unique in that so many of the OGs and people, I'll be with me, calling you know, G. Mr. Abrika, who made this city are still with us and are still fighting for the city. I'm Mr. Duane Bay in the audience, Ms. Stevenson, so as someone of the next generation, it's just, it's such a beautiful thing. And I never, I never take that for granted. So I just wanna thank you for the record, for all you've done as well as my colleagues. I would just, I thought we were going down the road here, but I will say thank you for your leadership. I've enjoyed serving with you for four years, and I too look forward to your future and what you're gonna do. So again, thank you for caring and loving for this community, the way that you do, you have such a big heart and it shows in your work. So again, congratulations. Thank you. So I also wanted to echo what everyone else has said. It's been a privilege to have work with you for two years. I also knew him when he was in kindergarten because I would go with my sister's classroom. So I kind of feel like a, like a, like a Dia kind of, like an aunts kind of to him. I just wanted to say I'm really proud and you know we're looking forward to seeing the next chapter in your life and continue making this proud? Thank you. Sure, custom metal metal. Yeah, certainly from Duke to Redgars to Oxford and the Marshall Fellowship to your first published book by the time you were 25, I think, then Stanford and your actual remarkable city council campaign. You are completely unknown, right? And you put in the time, as you have put in the time, at Duke and Rutgers and Marshall, and it'd be a beautiful Marshall fellowship. And I think that drive clearly means that we're going to be seeing much more of you. You know, whether it's on a local stage, whether it's on a national stage, whether it's, you know, in some tenured professor's ship somewhere. So I hope we wind up meeting on the being side or maybe the green side of a, of Stanford's main library. I know you're, you're a lot of lathe syrup, but, you know, we should, we should make sure that we, uh, we can get coffee at Cooper or something, uh, since sometimes we're, we're in the same hot. So again, congratulations on four years. And I know there are many great things that await you. All right, I think I'm good for that. While I'm all tapped out. So I don't know if we have to vote on this. But we also have some, we also received a resolution from the Board of Supervisors from the County of San Mateo that we have here and we have also some things from the city with a we have a commemorative gavel here and some flowers. Oh, that's right. I see us in the course of the day. Like to the teachers. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. And now is my great privilege to extend the same accolades and keep them momentum for our supervisor, elect and council member, the honorable Miss Lisa Goshear. I too am humbled by a leadership and her big heart and who she. What? Go share. Go share what I said. Sure. Oh, go share. Why don't you click them before? But you know what? When people say God tier, I say is go share. So I did something like that as bad as people say God tier, because that happened a lot. But all right. All right. All right. Y'all, we hear to celebrate an incredible extraordinary woman who's given 12 years of service. It is not easy. It is not easy doing this work and the heart and spirit that Lisa represents. She's always thinking about who's not in the room, who's being excluded, who's not being a part of the conversation. So just her ethos, her drive, her love for the community. I'll say my former marks in a sec, but I just wanna begin that conversation with that. And I wanna open it up to, similarly how we did for myself, the floor, for folks who wanna extend your love, your praise, that she's gonna continue to represent us at the higher office. But for her time as a council member, I want to invite everybody to deliver some remarks. So can we go ahead and see who's here to speak for a miss? Uh, slow shit. Absolutely. Uh, first speaker, uh, Shonny Stevenson, followed by Donna Rutherford and Regina Wallis Jones. Hello, everyone. Yeah, hear me. Okay. So Lisa, I'm excited for you. You're, let me talk about your time on the council and what it has meant to me and my family. When I moved from Ohio, Ohio, you'll family adopted us and we hung out together often. And so got to know the spirit of who you are and wanted to come up here and say thank you. You were the first one to do a protest that my youngest daughter went to. And that also led to her having her own protests for Brother George Floyd many years ago, well, three years ago, five years ago, something like that right now. And I was like, where did you get that idea? And I was like, I wonder if that was from Lisa. So I just want to talk about your example for our family that you show up for us and many other students, whether it's giving out food, whether it's showing up into an empty auditorium of 20 people doing the Black Student Union, or whether it was calling our school district as the former SHSD trustee for area E. I could always count on you being present, asking the questions, checking in and making sure that we were okay. And speaking to our government classes, so people got to see you in the class, they got to see East Palo Alto between you and Antonio. And so it's just a real acknowledgement to you as well as Antonio that you guys have shown up for our school district for our kids to see what leaders look like in color. And so I'm excited about that. So Lisa, one day when you were running, you said something to me, and you just said, I'm going to run my race. And I was like, man, that's a powerful statement. And you said, what God has for me, I firmly believe it is for me. So I'm giving you back your words because I think it means a lot. If you haven't been in public office, I'm looking at some of the OGs up here. I'm looking at, you know, Ruben and Breaker. I don't know how y'all do it for years and years and years. People ain't nice. You know, people give you all their burdens. They give you all the celebrations and the accolades at the end. But boy, they do not know what you go through in those closed sessions when you have to make the difficult decisions because you have information that you may or may not be able to share because of confidentiality. And so there are some things that people don't get to see that's you showing up and it's beautiful, but they also don't know the decisions that you have to make and that you're not on the team alone, that you have to work in fellowship and in concert with other people. And so when I heard you say I'm running my race, I decided I was going to give you something that you can put in your office because I know the border supervisors got a lot of stuff going on. And you're stepping into it. That you can put on your show to say I'm running my own race in my own shoes. So in her shoes. So thank you. Next speaker, Donna Rutherford, followed by Regina Wallace Jones and Maria Rocha. Thank you. Thank you. Good evening again. Former mayor. Go she vice mayor. Councilwoman. I just want to say that. I have known you for many years. We served together. And I used to could say that I served for 12 years. However, a lot of council members have surpassed that number now. Through the years that we've worked together on the council, I can say that you've always expressed yourself in a very well way down the earth and you weren't afraid to ask questions and reach out because that's one thing that as a politician elected official you have to know how to do that. I can say that you did that with humbleness and without fear and you told your story. I've seen you grow over the years and I'm very proud of you. And you know, every time we campaign, we say, just do what you need to do and don't worry about it. Because I know there were times when you were doubting and you felt like maybe enough wasn't being done or you know those thoughts that we have. But we said, leaving God's hands, if he wants you to be somewhere, he's gonna put you there. And that's the way I've always, when I run my campaigns, that's the way I felt. And I can say that it's, you're not going anywhere. I mean, we still have access to you. And absolutely, we know where you live. And so what I will say is that I hope that this community also goes to the meetings because I know I'm guilty of not participating enough in the board of supervisors meetings, but we all, you know, life modes and it's very busy, but I'm going to promise that I'm going to be there. You guys meet twice a month. So I'll probably make it once a month, but I can tune in virtually. So you know, I'm just saying, we, I don't want to make promises. I can't keep that's never the person that I am, but I will be there to support the whole board of supervisors. Okay. So thank you for all of your service. And I just commend you. Keep up the good work. Speaker, Mr. Regina Wallace Jones. I'm going to be a member of the community. Speaker, Mr. Regina Wallis Jones. Well, good evening. I have just some quick remarks. I remember when I was first selected in 2018. And I remember thinking to myself, well, it's either going to be amazing or it's going to be terrible, but we're going to do it. And I remember the gentleness and the care that you had as mayor at that time. And I remember feeling very lucky and honored to be serving as vice mayor in that moment. From that point forward, I've continued to watch you. And sometimes, obviously we've had disagreements. Every council member has disagreements. But what I appreciate about you always is that you, endeavor to keep human connection intact relationships preserved. And dare I say friendships where we can have them. I think it is a beautiful model to be able to disagree and still move forward in great collaboration as humans and I think that you modeled that beautifully. I am incredibly proud that you're moving on to be supervisor in San Mateo County. And looking forward to all the great things that you will do there. Thank you so much for your 12 years of leadership here. More to come. Deep gratitude. Love you. Thank you. Next speaker Maria Rocha, followed by Rev. Njord Shadheri and Stuart Highland. Hello again, beautiful people. I just wanted to say Lisa, how much I admire you and how I love you and how you're an honorary Drocha and and how inspiring your story is and when you find yourself in circumstances like in abusive relationships or being brought up by a single mom sometimes you don't see how your life could turn out to be so amazing and so special and you have definitely just to walk right through. A lot of people say fake it till you make it but what I like about you is that it's not about making it till you make it, say it till you manifest it until it happens and I think that's what you have shown. And I love the fact that you have personally talked to my children, my two daughters, when I was here and you were actually at the mayor at that time when she was in the youth and government. Your words to her just, I wanted to remind you that what you say stays with people's hearts and that the world continues to need strong, beautiful women like you. And thank you for being the beautiful package that you are. I love you so much and we wish you so the best. And I just love that humility and yet that confidence that it's for you, it's for you. And you got this girl. Next speaker, Rovnillo Shadry. I'd also say you're truly inspiration. When I decided to run for office, I kind of looked at you as a role model. I remember how it should meant to me when I was in middle school and high school and seeing you come to my middle school or kind of talking to us at Call of Shack and the Boone Girls Club. And you were truly involved in the community. And I feel like you're a true model, but it means to be someone who's in service to the community. Because not only did you show up to the meetings, you came out to the community. You came to the baseball games, things of that nature. And I'm really proud to know you, and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to work with you. And I can't wait to see the good trouble you're going to make when you go to the board of supervisors. But we're rooting for you, and I can't wait to see what you're going to do. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Next speaker, Stuart Highland, followed by Gil Wilkerson. Hey Lisa, vice mayor. I just want to follow Neil and what are you saying about that good trouble because it takes courage and you show encourage over the years. We talk about some of the OGs on the council and disagreements and so I've definitely been on this side putting pressure on that side but always we were in agreement around the DNA about what needs to happen here and I can say this that when we think about the decisions you have to make in the small back rooms you're never going to forget about where you're grounded at and who you're representing. So you're going to bring them in those rooms. And I just want you to picture this nice velvet rectangle with a brick inside of it. That velvet brick. I'm sure you're going to be smooth, but when you need to be firm, you're going to be firm because you have that courage and I'm very confident and really looking forward to San Mateo County, you and Nuele are having a lot of fun with those men. Thank you. Thank you. Next speaker, Gail Wokerson. Gail Wokerson followed by Brittany E. Gosey and Sierra Hill. I just had to get up and say something. This lady is consistent. She's consistent across the board. I just want to clear something about when I pulled up to the food line in my Cadillac XT6 and you gave me 12 dinners that weren't for me. You didn't ask any questions, you just piled it in. And they were for my neighbors who couldn't get out. So I wanted to straighten that out. Also when I came to you about Peter Powell and the elevators were out for over six months, you got it done. We couldn't push that man in man when I budget. He was like Jack Binney. Got all that money. And you finally got the elevator fixed. The man wouldn't put a floor in the elevator. I had to come back to you. Next day there was a floor in there. I mean, how are you gonna get in an elevator and you can't ride in it? But you did it, and I appreciate that. When you listened, when I started getting involved more with the city, and I wanted to be on the rent board, you said, yeah, another one of your people who didn't know me from Adams Housecat looked up at me like I was a drifter and said, no, but you said yes. You said yes every time because you know the value. You didn't have a underhanded agenda. And I appreciate that. And I would like, I told you before I wasn't going to vote for you because I wanted you to stay here. I said that, okay. I did. So there's so many little things, you know, over the years. And I just appreciate you being here. Okay, and I know where you live cause the first four letters of your street is my name. Okay. Citizen number one, everybody. Thank you, next speaker, Brittany Gose, followed by Sierra Hill and Larry Moody. Okay, Councilmember Gose, I'm so honored to have you as my mom, my link sister, my former council member, Vice Mayor, Mayor, and my upcoming supervisor. You have been such an inspiration for me and for Camden. I know all the hard work you put into everything you do. I know how hard it is for all the decisions you have to make. I know about the phone calls and texts that you get about kind of ridiculous things sometimes, but I know how you handle each situation. Like it's your top priority. And I just appreciate the integrity that you have shown throughout your political career. The integrity that you've had in your race, how gracious you've been. I know with anybody who reaches out to you who's running, you're so willing to help out however. So the things that other people don't see and don't know about that I know about, I'm just so appreciative of who you are, even when the door is closed. So yeah, just thank you for being a good motivation and thank you for continuing the work and the good fight on the next level. And I just wanted to give you your flowers physically. And then Sierra asked me to stand up here while she talks, but I'll give you your flowers now. I'm going to say thank you for always showing up and showing out literally since the day I was born. So I love you and I'm ecstatic for the next endeavors that you're about to embark because you very well deserve it and I love you. Next speaker Larry Moody followed by Adrian Bryant. Mayor Moody. Hey, hey. Everything I was going to say, right, just gets trumped by what your daughter just shared with this community, right? The intimacy of that relationship is desired, I think, by any parent, right, to have their son or daughter to celebrate a parent who has dedicated their life to public service. You know, I was just talking to my colleague, our colleague, Regina Wallace Jones, and just shared that Darryl Kohley had this song, and he always said, when the music stops, that's when I have to live my song. When the band goes home, right? That's when I have to really put my work before me. And many people don't understand that behind the veil. At least if you've given 12 years of your life dedicated not only to the East Palo Alto and the residents therein, but you have found yourself a student of humanity and you found a way to really embrace all of San Mateo County in a way that prepares you for such a time as this. I am so confident and excited about your your positioning. Go on to the county board as supervisors, well prepared, well equipped, right? But still with a lot of room for loving kindness and to care for others, right? It's a big task, but we, the East Palato community are so grateful that you're willing to continue to serve in this capacity. I like Donna Rutherford, who will make myself available in those big beautiful chambers from time to time. But I hope you know that whenever you need for me, whether it's to listen, advice, just to laugh, right? Because you and I have spent so many times together in various rooms over the last 12 years. And it's always a comforting feeling for me when I walk in the room and I see you there. Right? I know I'm in the right place. Right? You are good people. We are proud of you. Excited for San Mateo County becoming a better county to live in just because you're going to be a part of that leadership there, right? Go do your thing. Next speaker, Paris Hill, followed by Adrian Brent. I'm not going to cry. I'm not going to cry. So I'm Harris Hill and I've known Lisa for about 40 plus years. So our families, we grew up in East Malau to together. But I just want to share just a couple of my moments about you, which when behind every person like Lisa, you always have somebody that's when beneath her wings. So I'm always that person for her and she's always that person for me, but she's in the forefront. I'll push her in the forefront. But one thing that stood out for one is that I'm the beginning, she was there. She was in the room when I had Sierra Hill, my daughter. Whenever there were floods in the small alto, I had an Escherie and Lisa, myself and Pastor Baines. We were up there on the dikes in our boots watching water levels because our house is on the bank back there and it was flooded. So she was in the trenches. The senior center in the trenches. So you are well prepared for what God has for you when you said, and I don't know, well, 12 years ago, she mentioned to me, I think it was like in May or June. I'm going to run for a city council. I said, oh, okay, like next year. She said, I'm not like this year. I was like, oh, like in November. She was like, yeah, I said, okay, whoa, what do you need? And I just remember that first time out, you needed money. We got our friends together. We were over at Wingstop and I'm just begging people for money not knowing what I'm doing, but just being able to support her because you are a good person. You have a good heart. I know your story. I lived your story with you and I'm just so excited for what God has in store for you. You are going to continue to do amazing things and I'm always going to be the sister that win beneath your wings, not in the forefront. But I'll be that win beneath your wings. Some probably. We can next speaker, Adrian Bryant. Hello, Adrian Bryant. Lisa, Lisa, Lisa. I thank you so much for the 12 years that you've served in your capacity. Thank you for your sacrifices, the late night meetings, and for sharing yourself with us. You could have been at home getting a good night's rest or spending time with your family. To Brittany and my little buddy Camden, thanks for sharing her with us. I admire how you represent a long-term, free incorporation legacy resident. Now representing us at the county level. Thank you so much for your service and your saisy advice to me personally and be responsive to my inquiries. Thank you for your grace, your consistency and your integrity. Thank you for that. I look forward to your work at the county and I offer you my assistance. Just say the word when you need me but I will continue to follow the county and just show up when I think it's appropriate. I hope that we can continue to work together at the county level to elevate our city of East Palo Alto and all people in the county. Thank you so much. Thank you for representing Black women and a positive life. God bless you Lisa. That it. Thank you. Those are last speaker. So I know that we have a very long night and there are two families here that we're waiting for others to be sworn in. So I'll be a brief. First I want to say thank you for 12 years of support. My family moved here in 1967 so I have lived East Palo Alto. I am a product of East Palo Alto. It's in my blood. To the residents, to my family, friends, and ultimately to the staff, thank you for all that you've done and will continue to do. East Palo Alto is a small but mighty city. We have the staff that's doing the work that of large cities and we are very thankful and appreciative of those who sit there to make this look easy for us. So thank you. We really stand on your shoulders. To my colleagues, thank you. 12 years, four years. I just appreciated being here. Some of the things that I can remember, I remember being a council member. I was the mayor in, I think, 2015 when President Barack Obama was in office. And I had the ability to go to the White House, representing the city of East Palo Alto, sitting in the room where you see the yellow curtains on TV, listening to the president and the vice president and their wives talk to us. That is something that I will never forget. With that I brought back my brothers keepers because we know that our community continues to need to be supported and lifted up. Youth commission is something that we need to continue to work on because our future is definitely into youth. To my Camden, Camdam, I love you four years. Love you. You were born on the Vembers second just before the election and looking at him four years later. To my daughter, I am here today because of you. I don't think I was to this. But when I thought I didn't want to be an elected official and I said no, after being asked to run several times, it was because if you're grace and your commitment to this city, you said, Mom, if you're not at the table, make a decision. Someone else would make a decision for you. I trust your decision, make it and you can do it. And you were the one person. I couldn't say no to. I admire you. Thank you for leading up. Oh, thank you for encouraging your mom. I know this is your journey. So I'm waiting for you to tag in and get up here on the dius. Right. Because I know that it is in you. There's an elected official that is in you and you bring so much insight to the work that we do. To the community on January 7th at 9 a.m. I will be sworn in as the next Board of Supervisors for San Mateo County. I want to thank you all for your support. Thank you for continuing to uplift me. Thank you for believing in me. This city is an amazing city. So for now, it's not goodbye. It is so long. Please come and visit me at my office. It's very going to be very cute. So you're all welcome and continue. Please continue to push, to guide, to support. I need the wind beneath my wings. I need to be reminded when I'm not doing something right. But more importantly, I need the support of my community now more than ever. Lastly, integrity is in my DNA. Who I say I am, I have to be that person when the doors are closed, the lights are off and nobody is watching. I will continue to lead with love and integrity and continue to represent the city to the best of Supervisors as well for you and some and the plaque so thank you. Thank you thank you thank you can I get off this desk now. Oh I'm sorry. Council members. I'll start off by saying once again, Lisa has been such a privilege to serve alongside you, to lean on your shoulder, to learn from you. There have been moments throughout my time on council where I was doubtful about how to lead issues with development about the RBD and you were there to always think about, again, I can't stress this enough. You know, there's policy, there's stats, there's numbers, But at the end of the day, there's a spirit to the city. And I can confidently say that Lisa Gossier represents that city with love and dignity. And I have all the confidence she's going to represent us to the best of the fullest on the board as a provider. So it's been an honor, Lisa. I wish I had 12 years with you, but I wasn't in EPA those times, but I appreciate your love, your heart, how much you lift up your daughter and your family, and I'm real glad that you're going to represent us on the county. So thank you for your time. Vice mayor. I also wanted to echo with everyone else that said, but I just wanted to point out that of those 12 years that you were in office, I had the privilege to be with you for two years. I also don't want to get emotional, but I felt that we jumped right away. And I really thank you for actually being very friendly and welcoming and for actually taking me under your wing. And I don't know. I was just there listening and trying to pay attention and taking notes as to how to proceed. So I just wanted to say thank you for being there for me. I'm going to miss you. I'm going to be the only woman now. But I know that I can always reach out to you. And also I just wanted to say that I'm very proud that under your leadership alongside with the other council members, you did something with their help in the communities help that had never been done before, that we hit zero homicides. For that year, that you are mayor. So I just wanted to say thank you and also thank you to the rest of the council members and community because you are also a part of that. So it's big shoes to fill for sure. And I know that you will do great wherever you go and girl keep dancing. Let me say something to the guys who are coming in. You have better be nice to Martha because I will be watching. With more power she can have more. Council members, Council Member Amarabraka, any? Which like to? Well, Lisa has been a pleasure working with you for 12 years. And I think the quality is that you bring to the council, reflect your own values, your own history. And now on the Board of Supervisors, I think it's gonna serve the county well. And I stayed out of the Board of Supervisors final race, but as I have expressed to you already, I stayed out of the border supervisors final race, but as I have expressed to you already, anything I can do to help in your work. And I think all of us here in East Palo to do that to help you whatever way that we can in any capacity. So, there are a lot of times over the 12 years that I think we teamed up on some things, because sometimes there's issues of particular interest or it is kind of false on us, but I definitely do feel when you join the council and a couple of years after that, I think you and I teamed up a lot with, you know, trying to bring together the different groupings around senior services. And I think today we're in a much better place than we were before. And so I want to thank you for that because that's always been an interesting mind, but definitely, anyway, you know, we, that was one example of teaming up, another thing. So definitely won't go into all of those, but I always have enjoyed working with you. And at some point, I do need to give you copies of the last two years. I took a whole bunch of pictures of you in Camden. I had to give them to Brittany too. But I just love that image, of the nice gentle firm grandmother and little Camden going everywhere, trying to do everything, and you're just kind of steering him and letting him be who he is. And I put one scene, I definitely appreciate a lot is that I always like to shake hands with a little kid. So I remember going shaking his hand a few times. And one time I was trying to shake it, and he kind of like, what are you doing, you know? And you said, shake his hand. So he shook my hand. Like, well, the power of the grandmother, the love, you know, that relationship. So I'll turn over those pictures to you because some of them are really, I thought they were pretty good. I followed you guys around with that, you know, in taking some pictures that park. So anyway, so good luck in your next adventure. And I think our community will be well represented as well as the rest of the county because you are that kind of person you're gonna look after everybody. Thank you. Lisa, you're not going far. So you know, you live in the community actually to say anything else is just, you're going to be here, you're going to be working for us, and we have a bunch of projects that we would hope the county could help with, and you know some of the final miles of what we need, and I know you have to balance county needs with city needs, but I, having worked with you, not for 12, but for 10 years, know that you generally can grasp the subjects quickly and go to the point. We have not always agreed for the most part we have, but the one thing that I've really enjoyed about you is that when we don't agree, when you let folks in an honest way, let them know that you don't agree. And it has never gotten in the way of our friendship, of our mutual counsel to each other. And I know that we will have a very strong advocate and friend at the county level. I will certainly miss you, but as we say in Spanish, nada está luego, pero hasta pronto conpanera. I just want to say for the record, our supervisor, like, is going to need all our support. So we want to stand firm and backing her as she represents not just EPA, but North for Oaks and Redwood City. So once again, Councilman go share. Thank you so much. And with that, I think we'll take a brief just recess, maybe a minute or two, just to transition to the... Yeah, just to kick us off, basically. But yeah, thank you so much, guys. Yes, I will hand the gavel to my team. It's Ellen. Very sound about that. Okay. That was a good one. Yeah. Yeah, that was a good one. Yeah. Dear. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Here. You took some kind of picture. Yeah. You've been a very service to us. Is. Oh. Oh. You're. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's a mistake. It's a mistake. It's a mistake. It's a mistake. Excuse me. Um, but I'm bomb. Um, excuse me. I would like to proceed with the rest of our meeting. I'm very happy that we were able to celebrate our outgoing council members. But I would also like to take into consideration the other families that are waiting for their folks to be sworn in. So we could please minor seats if you're planning on staying here for that. Thank you. We're going to go ahead and we're going to start with the soaring in of our new council members. So I would like to call. Once more, your attention please. We're going to start with the soaring in of our new council members. So we're going to do this individually. So as I call your name, if you can please come up to the front. And we will have our city clerk, James, call in. So are you in? So if you have your cameras ready, if you have your folks here ready to root for you, get them ready. So we're gonna start with Carlos, then followed by Mark and then Webster. So we're gonna go ahead one more time. I'm just gonna call this meeting to order. So we're gonna go ahead one more time. I'm just gonna call this meeting to order. And we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna start with the soring in of our council member, Carlos or Maril. So we could please have everyone quiet down, please and find your seats or if you're still in the back getting some food. If you could do it in the quiet matter please thank you. And we would like to have them please come up and take their seat. So as they find their seats I'm trying to expedite it I know that you've been very patient so thank you for your patience. I just wanted to move on to the next thing that we're going to do. At this time, we're going to proceed with a selection of the next mayor. As a reminder, the process will be as follows, consistent with the resolution number one, sorry, the resolution number two, seven, three, eight. I will first ask the council for nominations for the position of mayor. Any council member may nominate another council member, including the city mayor, but may not nominate themselves. Once nominated, I will ask each nominee if they're willing to serve before declaring themselves, before declaring them officially nominated. I've no nominations remain. I may make a nomination. Once it appears there are no further nominations, I will close the nominations. If only one council member has been nominated, we will proceed to a vote. The nominee must receive three affirmative votes to be selected as mayor. If more than one council member has been nominated, I will call for a vote on each candidate in order in the order in which they were nominated until one receives three or more votes. At which point that council member will be declared mayor. So I will go ahead and proceed to see if we have any council members on the dias that we like to make any nominations at this time for mayor. Through the chair, I would like to nominate our current vice mayor, Marta Baragand, this mayor. Second. Actually, there's no need for second correct. I guess seeing no no other nominations. I will go ahead and proceed with the voting. Is that correct? Are there any more? No, okay James do you want to do? You're welcome. Councilmember Brico. Yes, Councilmember Webster Lincoln. Sorry. Yes. Councilmember Mark Dining yes, Councilmember Carlos Romero. Yes, congratulations Hey, thank you. Martha. Did Martha? Well, did you bought? Huh? Yes, I'll vote for myself. Just The clerk if I may through the chair. I think Ms. Baragon also has a vote. No Yes apologies Councilmember Baragon. Yes. Thank you. So the unanimous decision with Baragon. Thank you. Thank you. So the unanimous decision is Thank you. Thank you. Okay, so thank you so much. So now we will move on with the selection of the new vice mayor. The process will be the same with nominations coming from the remaining four council members. I will open the floor for nominations for vice mayors at this moment. Do we have nominations? I'd like to nominate for the would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, I would like to invite, council member Ruben Eberka. James, can you help us please? Council member Eberka. Yes. Council member Lincoln. I abstain. Council member Baragon. Abstain. Council member Dynan. Abstain. And Councilmember Romero. Yes. So there's only two votes so we will proceed with the next candidate. So we will proceed with Mark Dynan. So councilmember Abrica. I will abstain. Councilmember Lincoln. Yes. Councilmember Baragon. Yes. Councilmember Dynan. Yes. And Councilmember Romero. I just don't think it's appropriate to abstain. I think it should have somebody who is a little more seasoned than Mr. Dynan, though he is seasoned. I'll have to vote no. Thank you. With that said, Councilmember Dynan is a new vice mayor. Congratulations. So thank you council members for your participation in this process. Congratulations to our new vice mayor and mayor. I look forward to working together as we move forward into the next year and happy holidays to everyone, drive safely. And I don't know if I missed anything else. If we're all good. We do have one more item. One more item, okay. Yes. Okay. So I will take on the last item, which is the City Council's proposed schedule. So good evening Honorable Mayor Councilmembers and our newest Councilmembers. Welcome. Tonight I will be presenting the proposed 2025 City Council meeting schedule for your review. Discussion and approval. If you can please give me one second to pull up my PowerPoint slide. And for the folks here, there are or derives in the back table, so please help yourselves. Okay. So our recommendation tonight is simple. We request that you approve the 2025 City Council meeting schedule as outlined in your packet. This schedule has been drafted in an alignment with our press practices and operational needs as specified in a resolution. And so as you can see the regular meetings. So the to provide context for our new council members, East Pawalatos, municipal code requires the city council to set its meeting and dates times annually. Regular council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Additionally, as in previous years, we recommend recommending an August recess where no meetings will take place that month. Next slide. It would be for, so to ensure a thorough review and a timely adoption of our budget. We've scheduled two special budget meetings. These dates are Thursday, May 13th and Thursday, May 27th, both at 6pm. This allows us to meet our deadline of adopting our city's budget before the June 17th regular council meeting. And one of our most important processes of the year is a strategic priority setting, which lays a foundation for an annual work plan. This year we will be providing a meeting with the meeting. We will be providing a meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the meeting with the We will be having our strategic priority session. During this session, the council will have an opportunity to outline and finalize their strategic priorities for the year, aligning on goals, initiatives and future developments. Apologies. So at this point to conclude we respectfully request that you approve the 2025 City Council meeting schedule as presented tonight and we're happy to answer any questions if you have a question. Hi, I noticed there is a July first meeting. Is it possible to get that move to July 8th? That is the week of the 4th of July and popular vacation time. I'm sure for both staff and for folks on council might be nice to not have a meeting two days before July 4th if you're going out of town to visit friends family, Italy. Thank you. Gladly consider if the rest of the Council is on an agreement. So my suggestion would be to move it to a week to July 8th instead of July 1st. Do you want us to vote on this? Yeah, we can do a roll call vote. Okay, let's go ahead and do a vote. Council member Abrika. That's fine. Council member Lincoln. I agree. Councilmember Baragon or Mayor Baragon. Yes. Vice Mayor Dynan. Yes. And Councilmember Romero. Yes. Right, so we will make that edit. So the first meeting in July will take place on July 8th. Any other additions? I was just going to say I'm thinking about staff. Having back-to-back meetings on one week, I mean, we've already voted, but it is somewhat in judicious in that it puts a lot of pressure on staff to get two packets out. But I think we just we just had the vote. But again, I think we really should be respectful of staff's time and their ability to to put these these packets together because they do take a fair amount of time. But I guess this motion has been moved and voted on. that will be kind of, I think if we switch July 1 to July 8, we'll have a July 8 and a July 15 meeting however we have adequately way to make sure the packets are out. Although the mayor and vice mayor at the time, depending on how that agenda's workout may decide that maybe two consecutive weeks of meetings don't work out. I don't know if we have anything else left on the agenda packet that we need to take action on. Just on this item if we can, I don't know if somebody wants the motion for approval. I'll move the calendar as amended, I guess. All second. All, I guess all in favor, please say aye. Aye. Aye. Thank you very much. I believe that's the end of our... There's a council reports. Any council reports that we might have? I'm sure if anybody has any There's a City clerk Colleen there's a hand raised home on So we did receive one speaker slip from Ravneo shot shot tree and After we will go online. So, Rooney, yeah. Good evening. I'm honored to be here on the occasion of the soaring in of our newly elected city council members. And I would like to extend my heartful congratulations to each of you as well as to Carlos on his success for re-election. This election was a challenging one with divisiveness at the both the local and federal levels. I recognize that members of this council may not always align politically and that each of you bring distinct visions for the future of East Po also. And that is perfectly okay. What matters most is a shared commitment to the betterment of our community. I am hopeful that this new council will build on the accomplishments of its predecessors, setting aside personal egos to collaborate and address the critical issues facing our city. While we might not always agree on every matter, it is essential that we foster meaningful dialogue that unites rather than divides our community. I look forward to working closely with this council in the coming months to ensure that we continue to serve all our residents of East Paul Alto. Together we can make progress or reflect the diverse needs and aspirations of this remarkable community. Thank you. Thank you. Next speaker, Adrian Bryan. Thank you for acknowledging my hand and all of the phone calls and text messages I've sent to make it clear. There are members in the public who want to comment on sometimes every agenda is item. And you guys seem to be moving swiftly along with the meeting without taking public comments. So thank you whoever took care of acknowledging that hands are being raised. And I wanna echo the last speakers, his notes and what he said. I indeed also know that there is a little disagreement with regards to newly elected officials and I congratulate you all. First, I'm going to start with Carlos and I got two minutes. Carlos, I really appreciate the way you are so diligent with reading your agenda packets. You always come prepared. I appreciate that. A lot of times I believe I have to raise my hand to asking the questions because you asked the same things that I would have asked. So I appreciate you so much for that and congratulations to you wholeheartedly. This historical knowledge and I want to speak specifically to the new Newly elected council members, congratulations to you too. But I'm going to ask that you sometimes defer to the more experienced council members. They have a lot of historical knowledge. And I'm hoping that even those experience and season council members would also listen to the newcomers. And indeed, you have a platform. It resonated with the community. That's why you're elected. And hopefully you guys can find some sort of equilibrium to support us and all the things that this community as diverse as it is, we can find some sort of common ground to uplift people and everything that they expect and want from a council member. To our new mayor, Baragon, I want to echo what former council member Goshet said in terms of guys, I'm also going to be looking out, making sure you're treating her right. And it's barregan, if you ever need my assistance, if you ever just wanted to hear my point of view, I will be reaching out and I offer you my support. And I wish you guys Godspeed. I'm looking forward to the debate. I'm looking forward to the policies. I'm looking forward to it all. God bless you guys and congratulations to Carlos for your reelection and to Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Dynan for your new Newly Council duties. Thank you, that's all. Thank you. And we have one more speaker slip from Ms. Gil Wilkerson. And I'm going to have the games all here. What the heck do we care? I am so excited. Okay. I'm looking at out with the old and in with the new. Okay. There are three. What? What? Six set of eyes there. New ones. And I'm looking for a change. A lot of us are looking for a change. I know you, Mark. You know I know you. I know all your ills and wills and you got a lot of positive in you. Okay. Martha, she's already established. Mother Teresa. And then there's Smartass Lincoln, the data science. Oh, right. Oh, God. I am not going to die seeing East Paul toe go to hell in a hand basket. I am so excited. And I expect a lot out of you, you, you, we already know what you about. We already know you. Okay. Thank you, nose are last speaker. So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that participated with your comments. And we I think that we have a good council, a good council members on the dies that we will always try to keep in our forefront our constituents before we make any decision. And I also wanted to reiterate that I believe that we will also be leaning into the most experienced in our staff, in our council, and also keeping in mind what the constituents want from us. So thank you so much. And with that, if if it I do have a council report, if I may or. Yeah, I just want to report on a couple of events that I attended. Two were give away toy giveaways. And one of them was in the building sovere by the hotel and it was definitely a new, I saw a new sort of way of doing something like that, giving toys to some of the families that are more in need and it was a great collaboration between the police department, live in peace, youth community services, a couple other cool line kids, a couple other organizations. And they, I would say we'll go a little bit, and I was going to go and volunteer, but there were a lot of volunteers, so I mostly just stayed out of the way with my brother, but they probably close to 800 children received some gifts. So that was very good. And then in the afternoon, there was another one done by Widdell and Park, done by 7-Eleven. That one I was able to volunteer for a couple of hours just kind of, you know, there's always need for people in big events. So that was also a great success. I don't know how many but at least the time I was there, a good 200 children were also doing that. So, you know, just a reminder that those things are very important because there are so many families that do need some help, you know. The other event was on December 10th in this chambers, some of us did organize a workshop on no-your-rights, Konoska Suserechos, particularly geared towards the immigrant community that I anticipate many of us. I'm an immigrant myself. We anticipate it's going to be very hard for many communities across the country. Maybe in the Bay Area it won't be as difficult. But in East Palo Alto we want to let people know that the city does have a resolution that prohibits staff and the police from investigating anyone acting as immigration agents. So it was the beginning and we're going to be conducting some trainings every month in order to just have people be knowledgeable about their rights. And it's not only the immigrant community, but really, you know, in reviewing those rights, every U.S. citizen needs to review their rights, constitutional rights. So anyway, I just want to report on that, that it was also a successful event. Thank you very much. With that, James Melvin, do we have anything else on the agenda that needs to be addressed at this moment? If there are no further council reports, then you can adjourn the meeting. Okay. Well, we're going to go ahead and adjourn the meeting today. December 17 at 9 o' 9 10 pm. Thank you.
