If I could add, um, a lot of people in the court are aware that there is a financial monetary award with this award also. And that check is $4,000 and has already I believe has already been direct deposited or will be today. You couldn't check your balances more than that. They don't do it ahead of time because they don't want her to check and see. But that's why we don't have a check here today. Maybe all the same. If I could add something since you let me have the mic during the pictures. I just want to say I was sitting here today and I was thinking that as a committee we never gave any thought or consideration to what department an employee that was nominated worked for or had worked for. But I'm looking today and seeing a wide array of county services represented with employees who have demonstrated excellence and it makes me proud. And I think I can't speak for him, but I believe that if John Scott was here today, he would really be pleased to see the diversity of functions in the excellence represented by all the nominees. Okay, let's next go on the agenda to item 3c which is a presentation in ribbon cutting ceremony for the new exhibit that courts outs on the Square Museum. Big wheels turning the evolution of transportation to downtown County and we'll call on Peggy Reddle. Good morning Peggy. Thank you so much. I want to thank Commissioner Eid's for the inspiration for this topic for our latest exhibit. But we have many, many other people I want to thank. We had a sneak preview on Friday night and first Friday in Denton and it was very well received. So on behalf of my office of the history and culture, I want to thank the support of the Denton County Commissioner's Court. in Bridge Department, the County Facilities Department all helped with the transport and installation of artifacts. And we have some very large artifacts that were interesting to get into this building. Donors of artifacts, loans of artifacts included Edward Miller with his railroad and Western Heritage Collection, Mike Cochran and Linda Lavender for a sign that was saved from the old Denton Depot. Edward Hoyinski, I'm not going to say that correctly, but anyway, he had some bus tokens, early bus tokens from Denton. Our Denton County Sheriff's Department and Sheriff Will Travis. Y'all will notice that in our weapons area what he contributed. The Denton County, Denton Area Transportation Authority, the City of Carrollton for the loan of some wonderful paintings by Carrollton artist at a May Humphreys. Marla and John Cartwright of Cartwright's Restaurant donated a 1928 transportation map of the City of Denton first time on exhibit. The Texas General Land Office allowed us to use some of their historical maps, the tales and trails museum in Nekona, the Willis Library at UNT, and Trails Museum in Nakona, the Willis Library at UNT, the city of Denton and M. Lee Fowler Public Library for their research materials. Bobby Abernathy for providing his expertise with the equipment needed for our new theater room. Judge Joe Holland for his knowledge of historic bicycles and his assistance with the restoration of a new acquisition in 1900s tandem bicycle Artis Cameron Cox for her diligent work on the train diorama and Lindsay Ripple for her recreation of the mural That was in the now gone didn't pass in your rail station Mark Foster for the loan of his horse mannequin and Amanda Daemonport for properly tacking him up for us. Chuck Big House owner of Silver Spy copies for assisting in the construction of our model train display. This project would not have been possible without the research efforts of so many people. And I want to recognize, I'm calling her our chief historian and writer, Chelsea Stollings. She is a UNT graduate student in public history. And our researchers, Mary and Fleischmann, Holly Berry and Alan Sheig. Maria Reyes provided the Spanish translations for our interpretive labels. This is the first time we've had a bilingual exhibit to my knowledge and we'll be continuing that tradition. Our curator of collections Kim Kupick coordinated the selection of artifacts and photographs and served as editor and fact checker. Joe Duncan, our curator of exhibits provided the overall art direction, graphics, and interpretive labels that include QR codes we're coming into new technology and he programmed our touchscreen iPads to provide more interaction for this exhibit. Roslyn Shelton provided all the coordination for purchase orders and the production of our special events with the assistance of Sharon Hubert. Paul McCoy has created our ribbon for the ribbon cutting today. Our special events committee of the Historical Commission, chaired by Lynn Yurgen, who always provides the best refreshments for our events and we are so grateful for all she does as well as her committee members. And finally I want to thank Beth Stribling and the Denton County Historical Commission and the Museum's Committee for their guidance and support of this project as well as the city of Denton for Providing Matching Grant Funding. Thank you so much. Well, Commissioner Eads, go ahead. I would just like to echo a couple of the comments that Peggy mentioned. Today truly is a milestone day for our museums here at the county because many of us have wanted for many years a theater, space, downstairs. I like if you go to most museums that are state of the art and cutting edge, they have an opportunity to have a video presentation to kind of reach out to people and communicate the history that way. And so that's something we've worked wanted for many years and it's opening today. And so I'll encourage each one of the court members to work with your representative cities and encourage them if they have local history videos or presentations to share those with us. Because we would love nothing more than for a visitor to the county to come in and have over 40 videos from each one of our cities and our communities and some that are no longer a community. You know, they're not a dissolved over time, you know, because we have some of those communities in the past and we're looking to have all those different histories here at the Courthouse and other timely events and promotions. Right now, our video that we'll see in just a moment is a film that was discovered here on the square about 10 years ago and it was in a theater where the Andesbury is now and it's a film about the city of Ditton in 1913 so it's a hundred years old and it's been edited and clipped and cut and it's got a wonderful narration and that's going to be on exhibit. And it shows wonderful modes of transportation throughout the film. And also I want to reiterate what Peggy said about the technology. We have the iPads that are used for the first time and the QR codes and that's part of this exhibit and it will's part of this exhibit, and it will be part of our future exhibits. So we're really state-of-the-art cutting edge as far as the programs we're doing, and how we educate our residents and our visitors. We want this to be a tourism destination for the county, our museum. And also, we plan on taking the show on the road to our different cities and libraries. So, court members, if you know of an opportunity that we could share this after we take this down, we would love to get your input on that. This is much more than just a collection of artifacts. It's also artwork. It's this wonderful staff and our volunteers and interns, the artwork that they have recreated. Peggy briefly mentioned the mural, well, they, that was in the city of Dittin Transit Center years ago that's been long gone, and they found old photographs of that and recreated that and painted that again and put those murals a backdrop down here for some of the artificial sea. So it's just a lot of time and talent and it's much more than just displays. It really is contemporary art, you know, so it's up. So thank you all to everything you've done to make it happen. All right. Did you have anything else to end the day at any? Okay. Well, I want to invite everyone to condone stairs. Take a look at all this hard work everybody's put in. And as she said in the New York, it's got some refreshments. So we're going to take a recess at this time. Thank you. Cinean, motion does carry. Consent agenda today consists of two A, which is approval of ordermaking appointments. We have a new hire in elections. We have a rehire in 360 seventh district court.
