Will you please stand? Heavenly Father, we come before you. We thank you so much for this day. We thank you for all of the blessings that you have bestowed upon us here in the county in the state of Texas and in this country. We ask that you will be with our leaders this morning. We ask that you will be with our commissioners this morning and give us wisdom and give our commissioners wisdom and the varying degrees of business that needs to be conducted today. We thank you for all that you have done in your name we pray and in Just join me in the pledge a pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America To the Republic for which it stands by nation under God indivisible, and liberty and justice for all. This is a resolution honoring Sandra Johnson for six years of service to Denton County, the Denton County Commissioners Court, Denton County, Texas during regular session on the 21st day of January 2014, considered the following resolution. Whereas Sandra Johnson began her career with Denton County on December 31st, 2007 and retired on January 8th, 2014. And where Sandra has provided six years of outstanding service to the Denton County Health Department in the WIC division as a WIC clinical professional. And where a sander has provided nutrition counseling and assessment to hundreds of low income Denton County residents, always striving to assure accurate and thorough documentation. And where a sander has utilized her WIC experience to assist hundreds of them county families in improving their overall nutrition and understanding of the role of food and exercise. Whereas prior to joining Denton County, Sandra worked for the Harris County Health Department for 10 years and has worked cumulatively for 16 years in nutrition assistance programs, targeting women and children. Now therefore, it would be resolved that Denton County Commissioner's Court, Denton County Texas does hereby extend to Sandra Johnson, our sincere and grateful appreciation for and then children. Whereas Peggy began a career with Denton County on February 1, 1983 as an adult probation officer. And she shall retire on January 31, 2014 after 31 years of dedicated service. And whereas Peggy has served in almost every area of the department, was instrumental in developing and teaching programs for probationers and has served on numerous committees and projects. And whereas Peggy is a supportive co- who is always available to help others, or fill the needs of the department without being asked. And whereas Peggy has trained and mentored and countless new officers, new shown officers that they can make a positive difference in the lives of persons in the community. And whereas Peggy has been an example of being respectful and kind, even when holding people accountable and forcing the conditions of supervision. And whereas in 31 years of service Peggy Evans has never lost her passion for helping people to overcome their self-defeating behaviors. It is now resolved by the Denton County Commissioners Court and we hereby extend to Peggy, our sincere and grateful appreciation for her dedicated service to Den County. The plan is to assist the county with developing a comprehensive county-wide thoroughfare system. We received two proposals. The evaluation committee was consisted of Bennett Hale, John Safranick, Sherry Groves, Donna Kerns, Laurie Thickling, Claire Yixie, and Buzz Elson, from ITS as a consultant, evaluate the buzzers proposals, and rank those as free's and nickels, number one, Nils Schaefer number two. You know, Denton County is growing tremendously and for us to be able to reserve right away in the unincorporated areas is extremely important. That'll help us with our future road plans. And our planning department wasn't able to tell them that that was going to be. It's in the plan. Right. Because we didn't have a thoroughfare plan. It's going to be a difficult enterprise, but anything worth doing is generally not easy. So I'm happy to have this done and I'll move for approval. Thank you. But, and on December 18, 2013, the PEPC executive board adopted the enclosed budget, and we're asking you to affirm it today. I should note that the overall budget has decreased very slightly, but our cost share has increased slightly for a couple of reasons. One, we are growing faster than some of the other entities. And knew this year, if you remember, the PEDC implemented the helps at. And that pushes some burden from TCDRS to the PEDC. And we along with Terrent and Dallas have a significant number of retirees involved in that program. And so it's been weighted a little bit to reflect that extra burden.
