Motion does carry. 13A is a approval request to submit a grant application for the direct adult drug court. This is the Veterans Court. To the office of the Governor Criminal Justice Division. And I have a resolution here that goes with this. This is a resolution here that goes with this. This is a resolution. State of Texas Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Direct Adult Drug Court Veteran Treatment Court Program, whereas the Commissioner's Court of Denton County finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Denton County, that the Direct Adult Court, aka Veterans Court, be operated for the 2015 fiscal year, and whereas the commissioners courted Denton County agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the criminal justice division funds the commission's court of Denton County assures that the funds will be returned to the criminal justice division in full. Whereas the commissioners courted Denton County designated the county judges the grantees of authorized official. The author's, I can't thought, the authorized official is given the power to apply for except reject, alter, terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. Now therefore, but it resolved that the commissioners Carter Dent County approved submission of the grant application for the direct adult drug court, veterans court to the office of the governor, criminal justice division, done an open court, veterans court to the office of the governor criminal justice division. Then an open court, the 25th day of February, the chair will summon seconded by Commissioner Mitchell. On favor, please say aye. Aye. Opposed, Cindy? Motion does carried. We have four speedle and four slides you come on up and introduce our new person here, Jeff? I'm sorry. Yes, I'm Major Gilmore from Texas National Guard. Yes. Very briefly, over the last year we've made a lot of strides on our veteran's court program. We applied for a grant last year. We came up two points short on the grading system they used in the governor's office. We had a very favorable grader and then one who was not so favorable. And being good ex-soldiers that we are. We did an AAR after action review over that and actually a lot of the things that they dinged us on we have work on and improved in the program over the last year. Training was a big one but also the number of attendees. Last year when we applied we were a veterans court of one. We've had nine veterans go through the court program. We've had one graduate. We have two. They're about to graduate. And very unfortunately, we have one great tragedy on the program, which again underswores the need for this. But under the leadership of Judge Garcia, along with Jeff Gilmore's presence is our court manager, a program manager. We made a lot of strides and we are very hopeful that we will do better down and all this than this year with our grant request. And Major Gilmore here, again courtesy of the commissioners, has done a very good job over the two months. He's been in the program to help coordinate our efforts as far as how we build this program. And so we're very hopeful this year will be able to get the grant and add to it, specifically some treatment needs that we have outside of the VA, that we've identified over this last year that we need private counseling and that sort of thing. Judge Garcia using funds that already exists within the court system has already sent one of our veterans off to a private counseling session that he needed and we look forward to it adding we think at least five to ten new veterans over the next six months into the program. Awesome. Thank you very much. It's a lot of work. Okay, also just to add, just to clarify, this application is a little unique. And that typically when we have a program in place, we're not allowed to ask for the funding that's already in place. So as you know, last year you funded the Veterans Program to about $123,000. This grant agency allows us to ask for those same things that we've got in the budget again. So if we get this grant application, there could be less county funds needed to go towards the program. So this one's unique. Typically grants won't let you supplant funds if you've already got an existing program. So I just want to make sure you knew that this one was unique and a good thing. The other point to build off real quick on that is that's one of the things that they dinged us on last year with our grant request. We weren't utilizing our own funds here in the county and of course with commissioners granting that that budget that was just spoken of. I think that'll be a point in our favor, down in Austin. Hopefully we get the same hard grader because they will realize that we've worked very hard to correct the deficiencies that they saw. Well, it was early in the process last year too. We didn't have all the... We didn't have the shrapnel. Policy written and all that sort of stuff. So, we're catching up. Living document. Yes, it is. It is. Thank you very much for being here. Okay, we voted on that so we're good. Right? Okay. 14A is approval of renewal. Number one to the contract for the 2014 Denton County Employee Service Award event between Denton County Texas and the genuine Texasity LLC doing business as Circle R Ranch in the amount of $44,250.
