One nation under God in the visible, with the liberty of the election as well. I would like to thank you very much and happy birthday, Everett. Well, we are all here for a very special day. You know, it occurred to me when I was preparing to come here today that I don't know that there's anybody in the room that's gone through more swearing in's than the Horn family Representative former representative Jim Horn was elected and reelected and sworn in in the Texas legislature Nine times so my first experience with a swearing in was in 1981 and the House of Representatives. I have had the pleasure of being elected and re-elected and sworn in this will be the eighth time and I know for all the elected officials and re-elected officials this is a very special day. It's a combination of a lot of hard work, a lot of wear and tear on your car, your family, everything. And I know it's very special for you. So I want you to know that when it's your turn to come up here to go through the swerving in, I want you to invite any family members you would like to have stand with you for the procedure to come on up with you. You'll have an opportunity to introduce them and I'll be calling everybody up one at a time. Elected officials and real electric officials before as your family members are coming up here with you, if you would first stop by the table here. Has there some documentation that needs to be signed? And we're going to try doing that first and then do your ceremony. Okay. And so it's great because I have wonderful letters in here from my constituents to encourage me and uplift me and give me wisdom. One of my favorites is a letter from my predecessor Jim Carter and although we ran a contested campaign, he wrote me a wonderful letter blessing me and encouraging me to do the right thing. And he left it on the desk when I took office. And so I put that in here and I refer to it about this time of year every year and it's kind of encourages me. So I've lots of family here today. I have my mom and dad Sydney and Koki Eads and my mother-in-law, Polly Patterson and my sweet wife, Ginger, and y'all've met all the kids this morning, Everett, Addison, and Caroline. And Judge Morn is going to swear me in. Real quick, before she does, I just want to say thank you to all the Ditton County employees. You are wonderful. As Judge Horne said, we couldn't do it without them. They make us look good as we serve the residents. I want to thank the residents who've returned me to office for the third time. Thank you very much. We've got a lot of projects done and I appreciate your trust that you've placed in me. And I also like to thank the party officials. The party is important. We are a partisan process and I want to thank all the party officials and other volunteers and everything they do and all the supporters that look around the room and see so many friends and supporters. So thank you all for being here. Okay. Okay. Good to meet you. Okay. Good to meet you. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Good place. You're handing a bible and raise your right hand. I and state your name. I and the Eats. Just solemnly swear. Just solemnly swear. That it will faithfully execute the duties. That it will faithfully execute the duties. Next on our agenda is Justice of the Peace Joe Holland and J. David Hand will be swearing a man. Why don't you do introductions first? Good morning everyone. Healthy New Year to you. When all of the Hollons get together it just doesn't take very long. This is my wife. Today is our 36th anniversary, my wife Brenda. She reminds me daily that it's not Judge Joe, it's just Joe. My two sons and my new daughter-in-law are not with us today, but we're very proud of them. This is the first, my first swearing in where my mom won't be here. We lost her in June, and I know she'd have been proud this morning. My friend and colleague, JW Han, is going to administer the oath of office. Good morning, sir. Well, this is the great state of Texas oath of office. Good morning, sir. Well, this is the great State of Texas oath of office. So in the name and by the authority of the State of Texas, I, I, Joe Hone, do solemnly swear, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute, that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of the office of the precinct one of Denton County Justice of the Peace precinct one of the state of Texas and I will to the best of my ability preserve protect and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States, and of this state, so help me, God. Congratulations. Next on our agenda is Justice of Peace, baking, Kerboke. Did I do the wrong one? I missed James. I'm sorry, James. It's tried to stay on schedule. James DePazza. I got a little ahead in my schedule. James DePazza. I got a little ahead in my schedule. I'm sorry. James DePazza is Justice of the Peace Precinct 2. And sorry, Nomenzi Day will be Janet Jackson, whose chief court clerk Justice of the Peace Precinct 2. You want to do some introductions? Yes. Good morning. I'd like to introduce my mom and dad that he spent on the campan trail with me the first two times I ran opposed out there holding signs for me and they've been here. This is the third time that they've been able to make it for my swearing in. My dad actually turned 75 on December 8th, so I'm glad to have them here. And my son, TJ, when I first decided to run, he was just graduating from high school, and now he's out on his own. But they always seem to come back for the green stuff, but, and my beautiful wife of 30 years, Crystal. And I kind of want to reiterate what Judge Horne said is that as an elected official, we can't be successful without those that surround us, the other elected officials and our staff. And over the last four years, there are three people that really, really helped me. And I just want to give a shout out to them. The first is Judge Kerbo. She kind of took me under her wing when I first took office and mentored me to where I am today. And I do appreciate all that you've done for me. Thank you, Judge Kerbo. And I think Judge Ramirez leaves. Whenever I have a question on civil cases, I just, I can't get my hands wrapped around. I give Judge Rivera's a call and we talk it through and he always helps me and I really thank Judge Rivera's for his help. And then I had one tough case this last four years that I really couldn't get figured out and I talked to Commissioner Coleman and they really needed a mediation but I couldn't find anywhere to send him. So he volunteered to do the mediation through the Denton County Mediation Program and was able to get them to settle in it, really took a burden off my shoulders that they were able to work that out through Commissioner Coleman. So, thank you, Commissioner Coleman, for that issue. And then on my birthday last, or two years ago, I guess it'll be two years, my chief clerk handed me her letter of resignation. And I said, oh, happy birthday. She went on to bigger and better things. And I brought Janet, and she was my senior clerk. And she is the backbone of the office, all of my senior clerks that I've had, the three that I've had. The office wouldn't be able to be around a successful without them. And so I'm having her swear me in today. I walked into the office wouldn't be able to eat the rerun as successful without them. And so I'm having her swear me in today. And I walked into the office yesterday, he's looking for my other clerk's cars in the parking lot, and they were there, and I walked in and Janits there by herself, because the other three came down with the flu. And that's just, she stayed there, we worked her through lunch, and my dad was actually with us, so he played court clerk in the courtroom while Janet ran the front. And there's not too many people, and I know this is an old joke. But there's not too many people that can say that their Oatheboss has been sworn in by Janet Jackson. And I do have my cousins here, the eyes, Franck and Iyer, and then my Air Force second cousin, where is he out? Over here, just join the Air Force, it's going to be a loadmaster, we'll be graduating in March. I state your name. I, James R. D. Piazza. Do you solemnly swear or affirm? Do you solemnly swear? That I Do you solemnly swear that I will facefully execute the duties of the office? That I will faithfully execute the duties of the office? Adjust the piece of the precinct to For Denton County. Just one quick shout out, most of you I know this, but this is where I truly came from and it was a product of Jim Horn so He he taught me all everything about politics and about public service and about how wonderful an experience that is and so I'm I'm just eternally grateful to the horns for that opportunity and the love that they've always had for us. Okay, next we have Justice of the Peace Precinct for Jay Hand and Srinaman will be the Honorable Joel Haumann. I'm very happy to have some of my family here. It's too big. We'd proud the limited space out here. So I brought the youngest one that lives in Ditton County. So this is my granddaughter. Her name is Karris Holman. Karris rhymes with Paris. And I love Karris. So anyway, she's doing that honor for me. And my good friend and colleague, we're doing a reciprocity thing because it's a mutual admiration society. Joe Holland, would you do the honors by my pleasure. You agree, Joe? Right hand. In the name and by the authority of the state of Texas, I, J. W. Han. It's my great honor and privilege to have been elected to this position and to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of this great county. And I appreciate all the work that all of those who are elected officials who have served before me and things that nature is well in this office and in all the other offices it's a great privilege to serve it alongside those. And I think it's important for us all to recognize as well. As we go through here, we can be very proud of the fact that in this country, we don't have uprisings, we don't have tyranny, we don't have bloodshed, when we change offices and assume positions. It's all done by the fact that we say words, a word of oath to our great God. And we need to remember that as it would be very appreciative of that fact that we have a God that blesses this country to that way. Thank you so very much.
