Good morning ladies and gentlemen, kind of commissioners court for Tuesday, January 26th, this now session. This morning, an invocation to be given by Matt Richardson, director of our health department, where do you go? There he is. I was looking for you over here, man. You're not in a usual place. I couldn't find you over here, man. You're not in a usual place. I couldn't find you. I'm sorry. And our pledges will be led by Kate Linus, Director of Administration. Will you please stand? Sorry about that. You're good. Let's bow. Our father, we come to you this morning with gratitude. We thank you for the blessing of another day. We thank you for the many gifts you give that we take for granted, Father. We ask this morning for humility to walk humbly in your eyes and to offer others mercy and grace as you've offered us, Father. It's difficult to live like that. And so we ask for strength to reflect you, to reflect the sacrifice of your son and what that has meant to us. Father, we ask that we ask for strength to reflect you, to reflect the sacrifice of your son, and what that has meant to us. Follow, we ask that we have the strength to provide compassion to others. As we walk our walk, we ask that we provide leadership based in service, and we ask for the wisdom that exceeds what we deserve. Father, we thank you again for all you do, things too many to count. Father, and we thank you for the sacrifice of your son and his example so that we can live a different and better life. And it's through Jesus' name that we pray. Amen. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, to the Republic for which it stands, on one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Honor the demotivated flag. I pledge allegiance to the Texas one state, the one in the middle. Well, good morning, everyone. First, I'd like to welcome Rick Avery, who's with us this morning. Rick works for a Texas Association of Counties and he's the county relations officer is Nitri title. Well nice to have you with us this morning. And for those that may not know last Friday was a special day for a couple members of Commissioner's Court. The fireman chamber, Commerce had their special awards banquet and Commissioner Bobby Mitchell received the 2015 Citizen of the Year Award is to be congratulated and Commissioner Andy Eads received the 2015 Spirit of Flower Mound Award so congratulations to both of you. So congratulations to both of them. Applause Well deserved, well deserved. Item 1 is for public input for items not listed on the agenda. If there's any member of the public that would like to address commissioners court, yes, that you please complete a public comment form that's available on the side table. Also want to remind everybody to turn off cell phones, pages, all electronic devices. The first public comment form that I have is from Mr. Michael Henning. Mr. Henning, good morning. I see that you live on Thomas Street. I used to live on Thomas Street a long time ago. The great place to live. It is. I am Michael Henning, I live at 724 Thomas Street a long time ago. The great place to live. It is. I am Michael Hennon, I live at 724 Thomas Street. I wanted to, along with the comments about awards here this morning to mention and make sure that this commissioner's court is aware that at last week's Martin Luther King, Jr. ceremony's here in Denton, that in recognition for his many contributions to the youth of the city and county, and that people in the city and county, that the second annual Catherine Bell Community Service award was made to Mr. Willie Hudspeth. The congratulations, Mr. Huzzwith, and with that, you are the next one for a public comment. Congratulations. Thank you. My name is Willie Hudspeth. Congratulations. I can hear you. I have a few things. Thank you. My name is Willie Hedstritt. My name is Willie Hedstritt. I live at 623 Newton. It's a good night time story. Okay. And... Man. I was going to do me out there getting recognized for something that was positive. And to mention what we talked about at the table over there when the applause were going on, I was looking at the people who weren't applauding. So the positive number of the people who were applauding, that's just how I wrote. I want to make sure for the record that I know what I'm going to be presenting to you should the item ever appear on the agenda. And with that, just as inside about the item being appearing on the agenda, these things that I've been talking about, I realized something over the course of preparing for our NAAC, LULAC forum and the questions that were sent out. Some didn't respond to the questions at all and probably want to attend the event. That's okay. What it made me realize is this is a political issue. We live in a society that allows citizens like me to voice their opinion within order and the right way of presenting it. And that's good. I remember time in the 60s when I was becoming aware of who I was that we couldn't do that as a people. And so I'm proud to be here in America to where I can voice that opinion. It also made me realize that there's only one way, not one way, but a way to get this commission's court to do what I'm asking them to do. Because you have the power. You can just say, no, we're not gonna do that. And you have been doing that for a while. And I thought, well, that's just the way it goes. You gotta get votes to get that changed. And that's just the way it is. So I'm looking for votes. And, but I stand here everyday because I just think it needs to be said. For me, I just need to think it needs to be said. So here are the things that I'm going to present at the opportunity to put these items on the agenda, or on item on the agenda, which that the judge is speaking for all of you. I guess because she's the only one speaking. The rest of you don't say anything. So I guess you are in agreement with the judge. So let me just say to all of you, I am going to present documentation that I have asked for and was greeted some of the things that I asked about the monument, not to move it, but other things that was granted. I am going to show documentation where someone said that water was on at that monument. I'm going to show documentation that not very much is done about that black cemetery, the slave cemetery, and I'm going to stop referring to it as the slave cemetery. It had a name. I'm going to start referring to it by that name. The agenda items moving from one place to another by a choice of you all just move it around. It's a number one never you move it around. The fact that the gen item, the things weren't put on the agenda. Lastly, why don't you have night meetings? Now what you said was not many attend. So I'm going to start counting. This morning there were six people other than official people needing to be here for something officially. Six in this morning's meeting. So I'll be counting those from now on just to see why night meetings won't be better than day meet. Or it won't be the same as your day meetings. Okay. Members, item two is a consent agenda.
