Any commissioners, Court for Tuesday, November 8th is now in session. This morning, the vacation will be given by Matt Richardson, the director of our health department. And our pledges will be led by Donna Stewart, our budget director. Will you please stand? Thank you, Mr. Chair. I'm very pleased to hear from you. Thank you, Mr. Chair. I'm very pleased to hear from you. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, Mr. Chair. And Father, today we thank you for the ability and the opportunity to express our freedoms. Father, that's not universal, that's not everywhere on your earth, but it is here. And we thank you for that privilege. We also ask for wisdom and discernment as we do make those decisions and use that freedom that you have afforded to us. And Father, after we make those decisions and for the next few months and the coming years, we ask for your strength to provide grace and mercy to others. We ask that we have the strength to put our faith in things above and not in ourselves, not even on an earthly government. We ask that you help us to be confident in our true hope that isn't you and assurance of what we don't yet see. Father, may we remember that your greatest most difficult commandment, the one that's hardest for me to keep and for many of my brothers and sisters to keep father is for us to love one another. That is the most important commandment and that we exhibit that today, tomorrow and in eternity. May we reflect your love, your peace, your grace and your mercy to others so that we can be seen as a reflection of your son and his sacrifice. And it's through Jesus' name that we pray on this great day. Amen. Amen. on the text is private. I have a question to the text. I'm going to take. Well, thank you. Item one is for public input for items not listen on the agenda. There's any member of the public would like to address the committee's court. Please complete the public comment form available on the side table over here. Would you like to remind everyone please turn off your cell phones, pages and the electronic device that might be disruptive. The first public comment farm I have is from Mr. Willoughedspith. Mr. Good morning. My name is Willie Hutsmith. I live at 623 Newton. Maybe some of you are wondering what happened to my wrist. Well, I'm a victim of bullying. You don't have to tell her about it. Anyway, I stuck out my hand to shake Commissioner Coleman's hand. He and Miss Lions, where's Kate, Kate Lion, Linus, had me beat up severely. This is what I have to show for that. And that is the lie that I'm giving and I'm sticking with it. Other than the couple tunnels, the surgery that I had on my hand, that sounded like a better story. Anyway, I'm this political atmosphere that we are undergoing now with the Republican and Democratic candidates has really helped me see that what we need to do is come together. But you never difficult part about coming together just like the fight that I had with my wife this morning. There's the put laughing. That's how I heard about it. Now we're really fighting out what the couple told me was. Any way she told me where to go and how long to stay. But what I learned is we have to give on each side. You have to, first you have to honestly look at the other person's point of view. Then you state yours as clearly as you can and then you begin to work on the compromise. You know what I'm finding that compromise is? Is loving one another? Let me define love as it is. It's shown me I've seen in the Bible. You give without any expectation of receiving. You just give because you should give. So I'm saying to you, commissioners, judge, citizens, history is history. We really do need to look at it, evaluate it, make compromise, make adjustments. And then let's come together. What I'm seeing more and more is this division is not the way to go and anger and vengeance. I'm not talking about the political party, talking about moon is not what you do. So I'm saying with you, with the rest of the court and these citizens today, well, these students have shown me a new way. When we get together and we talk about what we're going to do, they get it. They know about compromise. They know about giving in and letting things go and working through the process and getting the facts. So that is what I wanna leave with you today. We are, I would like more history on the square. It seems like some of you are maybe coming around to that. I'll just ask you to do what you think should be done. And I'm willing to compromise as I know you or you have been willing to thank you. The second public comment from I have is from Kendra bones. Kendra. Long speaker. Did you want Susanna to come next? Okay. Susanna. Dan Hain. Good morning. You have three minutes. Good morning. Good morning, judging. Judge. Good morning, commissioners. Sorry. My name is Susanna Elise Dan Hain, and today I will be reading the statement from Mr. Willie Headspith for the Cultural Editions to Denton County Museum District. Your honours, thank you for the opportunity to address this court. Denton is a place where the leadership and the citizens have a deep respect and abiding reverence for the history of the city and of the county. From the work of the Historical Society to the Museums and the Lecture Series, which will this Thursday, highlight the story of Kwanaparkar, we must acknowledge the importance of the past in shaping today. Myself, the Denton County chapter of the NAACP and other friends and stakeholders seek the opportunity to work alongside you to continue the county's rich tradition by asking that you support the following. Number one, support and facilitate the installation of a memorial and outdoor exhibit on the site of the Courthouse Square Museum, town square, that accurately and respectfully displays and signifies the importance of African Americans to the economic and civic development of Denton County. Number two, work with us to jointly fund, create, and build additions to the wonderful exhibitions inside the museum on the Courthouse Square. Number three, provide space for us to develop and house a center for the study of African Americans in North Texas to be based in Denton. Our group will write grants, seek sponsorship, and work to bring regional and general exposure to the city and county. Note, we are not asking the county to make an investment of resources until we have established and received a grant or offer of co-sponsorship. Thus, we want this project to be a partnership. Judges, it is our belief the museums represent cathedrals of culture that provide a service to the young and the old by providing context and a deeper meaning. Thank you.
