21st is now in session this morning our invocation will be given by Matt Richardson director of our health department and our pledges will be led by Michelle French our tax assessor please stand. Good morning, let's pray. Our father, we come to you this morning, thankful for a little bit cooler weather. We thank you for just the sunshine this morning and it's start of a new day. Father, we ask that we use this new day to glorify you, to reflect your grace and your mercy. Father, I think this world and we think this world needs more of that. So we ask for the strength and wisdom to just reflect that through the example of your son and his life that we read about. Father, this morning I ask you be with children all over Denton County, Father, as they've started school. I just ask you be with them this year, help them to have a great year. And Father, we wish learning and we wish friendship. And we wish so many blessings on them. We also wish safety. And Father, we beg you for that. We petition you as the Creator and the doer and the maker of all things that you provide that to them. Those of us who are parents, I think feel that acutely and so we ask you're blessing on them. Father, we just thank you again for your majesty, your glory, all you do for us and the things that this day represents for us. New beginnings, the ability and the opportunity to do your will. It's through your son's name we pray. Amen. Thank you. Do you want me to pledge? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Honor the Texas flag. I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one in indivisible. Well, good morning, everyone. I'm going to go to the office. Good morning everyone. Item one is for public and for items not posted on the agenda. There's any member of the public that would like to address commissioners court. We ask that you please complete a public comment form. They're available on both of the side tables. One to remind everyone. Please turn off cell phones pages in electronic electronic device that might be disruptive. I have one public comment form here from Mr. Michael. I believe that's Carter. You wish to speak, sir. If you'd come up to the microphone, if you would, sir, state your name and your address. Good morning. My name is Michael Carter. Hey, thank you and your address. I own a company called TX Business Parks and we bought 35 acres on F and 1830 and We have plans to build an industrial business park which we got platted through y'all after months We've been held up in permitting and We feel like the county is working against us instead of with us. Our impression of the county is they're supposed to be helping us get the process going and not working against us. The suitorian, Leslie Freeman has been handed all my permits to hold them until the septic system is complete. Well, I heard a professional engineer, actually the most expensive engineer in the whole state to design my system because of the complications that he kept bringing up after the third engineer. This was my third engineer. Our septic system design is different than any other in the county. There's not another place that you can go show me where the system is in place. It's a $225,000 system on a county piece of property. Which is ridiculous, but okay. But why is the suitorarian allowed to hold my permits? Until we get this going, I should at least be able to start my concrete and build my buildings. There's no reason why I'm held up any farther. I've been through it with the fire marshal. He's signed off the county engineers signed off on everything. And every time we get somewhere, Leslie has more and more comments. Last night at 6.30 he sent me a two-page diagram of different things he once once again. This has been a year you know I'm losing somewhere around 30 thousand dollars a month sitting around waiting on permits. It's not fair to me. You know, it's not like we're trying to build something that we're not going to take care of. And I'm kind of to my whits in. I don't know where to go besides here. We've had our attorneys involved. I spent thousands of dollars with my attorneys. I've had meetings with the county and that's how we got to the point now that we're just waiting on him. And quite frankly, if I was forced to hire a professional PE to do my septic system, then why is a suitorion telling a PE? That's like a nurse telling a doctor how to do his job. That's not how nurse telling a doctor how to do his job. That's not how this is supposed to work. Okay, you're three minutes is absurd and we'll have to get back to you. Okay. And since it's not a post-it agenda item, thank you. All right. Let me guess, will he? Okay, Mr. Holtzberg. Good morning. This is a Hagar, my granddaughter. She's a junior at Stephen F. Austin. And she better play past those classes. Oh, I'm sorry. Good morning, my commissioners. Judge, I'm with the hospital. I live at 6.23 Newton. And I'm just here to say to you what I've said before and again, you see my post, you'll see that people are passionate about the stature and what we're going to do with it. The main thing, I think, Berges, Congressman, Berges has it down the way it should go. We should be operating here. Talk to the people. Let them know what's going on. No discussion has come up about the water being turned on in the fountains. The discussion years ago was saying that the water is not was never wrong. Well, I have evidence. I haven't brought it to you. I'm just hoping you do the right thing. Turn the water on. If I need to bring the evidence, the young man who decided not to turn the water back on, as I told you, Mr. Ector, and this person said, turn that water back on. I was like, show you the water's back on. I don't want us to do that. Why can't we just talk about it? So, and also, I implore you to get involved with that young man who is walking across Texas, who is not Texas the country, saying, let's come together. That's just talking. No one said we have the solutions. We're not going to have a solution. Per say, like you've said, and said several times, you're not going to please everybody. You won't. It's the talking. It's what will make things better. So if we talk about that statue, before you start spending money, it's going to be better. I suggest we talk about it. Thank you. Well, either he had a question, is that gentleman just coming through Denton County? Do you know? Yes. Yes. And I'll get you a map and kind of let you know where he is now, because that'll be fun. That'll just be fun to watch. He's going to have a rally at the University of North Texas. What is his name? Reggie D. Reggie D. And on that paper I left here for you, his contact information is on it and how to get a hold of him. That's just be funny. It comes to the county. Doesn't hurt anybody. We all want to come together. I think it'll be a good thing. The RAD is going to be great too, the University of North Texas. I'll let you know when that's going to happen. So we can just stand around and celebrate life. Thank you. Thank you. How's the Wilton Bridge? Good morning. Good morning, Honorable members of the Newton County Commissioners Court, Honorable Mary Horn. My name is Tim Birch. It's through the Wondrous Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ that I'm the the elected council I'm precinct for. Just here to give an update. Naturally, it's kind of a mood point with the defunding of the position, but I have still not been able to receive anything from Hood County in regards to my chief deputy and they proceed forward with that. So I'm just letting the law take its place, let it work its magic there. The other thing that I wanted to bring up as an item that's not on the agenda is, I believe previously, I was accused of or insinuation made that I did not attend a training. In a seminar in Las Vegas, Las Vegas is renowned for the state of the state of the art training. We went to some of my chief deputy and I most certainly did attend. I provided John with a copy showing where I was at that event. But the thing about it is the people that truly know me, love me, support me. They would know I would never do anything illegal like that and try and take some advantage of the County government. So I did not do that and like I said that's just less than accurate accounting from a news media source that when they say in that numerous attempts to contact me where I was unavailable, while most certainly was and thank the Lord that I do have call You always call or I deal on my phone So just wanted to give you all that update and let you know that My legacy is not going to be fighting with the commissioner's court My legacy is going to be the love care and compassion and support. I show my people out here in the In Denton County and the attempts to discredit me in any way, they're falling on death years in my precinct. Thank you very much for your time. Have a very blessed day. Okay, that's the last public comment form. Members, item two is a consent agenda. Do we have anything that needs some discussion? Or do we have a motion?
