We're going to have to have a meeting. That's right. We'll see you in the next one. Please allow me to call the special meeting of Esports in Council of the Order. Welcome everyone. The all-host copy agenda is not over yet. The consent agenda has two items. Item A is the consideration of approving project ordinance amendments. Let's go through those real quickly. That's the ordinance. Number one is the ordinance to amend the days amount of project ordinance. Two is to close the days amount of project. That was the annexation project that's been put on hold. Item three is ordinance to amend the zoo city park fund and item four is ordinance to close the zoo city park fund that does not close the zoo city park project. We've just got the accounting hanging out there and it makes it a lot easier for Steve and Debbie since it's not an active project to close it and we'll put the money back back out there when you get started up again. We can probably do that the year 18 months from now and then the other two RR closing ordinance to amend the Sunset Theater Project ordinance the economic development fund in ordinance to amend the water and sewer Project or miss the economic development fund in ordinance to amend the Water and Sewer Set from the Front. I will say that ordinance to amend the economic development fund has been changed about five times in the last three days. Last night, we got a $350,000 direct deposit to us for the Multimales NC1 grant. So this is like right hot off the press. We have to change that this morning. But it's not our money. We have to turn around and write it check the Multimale. So I'm sure they'll they appreciate it. And then item B mayors just to clean up or so. item B mayors just to clean up or so. Those that explains the project was this isn't an item B is the cleanup of the budget ordinance amendments. The general fund and those up here, Dave. I think you I just passed this around. We have the ordinance to amend the general fund and that's the cleanest. You can see it at the ends and outsaw and you'll see it in negative, but it's the concept of the end zero at the bottom beach that we have to bounce. The ordinance is passed down, and there's one or two of them on very low-jessing line practice, but it's a session for the state. Oh, here's the sentence. Yes, there it is. This is an interaction. You can just under that. Just start today. There it is. This is one. So you see it's an ordinance to amend the law in So we recommend mayor, and it is a pretty desperate thing. Okay, and there are a part of the Santa agenda. Is there any discussion involving the Santa agenda? The questions are still. All right. If not, how will our title motion to approve the consent agenda is presented? There, I move we approve the consent agenda. I have a motion. Commissioner Baal, do I have a second? Second. Second, Mr. Baker. Any discussion? All in favor say aye. All opposed. Motion carries. Thank you. I had three on the agenda, consider I approve the budget ordinance for the city of Ash both for fiscal year 1314. Mayor, we know we've had our budget workshops, we've had our public hearing now at the time to approve the ordinance we've had it left, live in two weeks. And when we report that the tax negotiations are going down in Raleigh, but you'll see that Governor Concordia said that cities would be revenue, the house figure till us has come up with that. So, we'll see how that works out in the out years, but this year will be all right. Another thing I want to point out mayor is a couple of weeks ago, Johnny Baines came and addressed the council about senior couples rate. We did add that to the council about senior couples rate. We did add that to the rates going to budget. A senior couple inside the city would be $475. That's an annual fee. And we've had, we're trying to generate more interest in junior golf while we're on that. So we've come up with a junior golf membership. Be this just in the summer of unlimited walk andin play which is $75 for inside rest at $125 per hour. And that's the only thing different. And so to really deserve an action to prove those, no, we've proved those. It's in part of the budget ordinance. Now, Mayor, this reminds the council that this is the official ordinance. You know, the budget is like that. This is the official ordinance. You know the ordinance like that. This is actually a ordinance. Any questions of John or Debbie regarding the budget ordinance this next year's budget? I will. I thank you to Debbie and John and all the Department heads who have worked hard to allow us to approve a budget with no increase. It's an austere budget and it is actually predicated on also empty positions. I'm filled with staff, I'm filled with positions. And a very austere budget, which is what we needed at this point in time, considering the current economy. So thank you very much for your hard work on this, John. I know you fly away tonight on some of these things and I can imagine David does too. So this was my colleague before eight o'clock. Yeah, I know when John called me before eight o'clock, he's been away call me. But I will say it's not very often that he does that. So, I'll entertain a motion to approve the budget ordinance. Mayor, I move approve the budget ordinance as presented. Thank you, Clark. We have a motion to approve the budget ordinance from Mr. Bale, the Second. Second. Second. Mr. Burke, the Second. Second. Second from Mr. Burkes. Thank you. Any discussion? All in favor say aye. Aye. All opposed. Motion carries. Mayor, we have just a couple of days. But there may not be an outcast next week. We'll have to contact you. And make sure you give us a separate text. Charlie, we'll be holding the door. Charlie will be holding forward in City Hall. We'll still be working next door, so if you have anything next door, I'll Michael be here next week too. And our intern, Karen, Community Development Marketing Andrew Karen has got, it's time for any of your t-shirt size and it's going to pass around the plaques for sunset theater, make sure everybody's names filled and how they want it We'll say that I For 14 left over the theater yesterday on officially and it is really A couple more weeks may have gone into July and the seats will be in and you'll be able to see it pretty close to fruition. I think we're going to be very, very pleased with the finished product and we're proud of what we've been able to do there. It's coming along. I want to say also thank you to Trevor for the hard work that you and the retirement attraction committee and some staff are put into the open house last weekend. While I know you were a little disappointed with the turnout, I think we got some good coverage. We got very favorable comments from the people that did come. And we heard from some people that didn't come and apologizing and telling us how disappointed they were and they couldn't be here. So for the first time in the event I think it was worthwhile and I think the committee wants to do it again. Lesson's word, we'll do the word time when we do some lessons in the matter. We'll share this with the council. Sunday night or Saturday night at the concert. I had a man stop me introducing himself in his wife with her. They introduced themselves and said, we moved to Ashburton two months ago. From Greensboro, we downsized and wanted to downsized our lifestyle. We chose to move to Ashburham and we been here two months. We signed up for the open house but from her family issues, I'm deaf in the family, they were unable to attend the Saturday morning events but they came Saturday night for the concert and they said we just we wanted to know more about our new and adopted hometown and we're very interested in that and we really hate we missed it but they said we love Asperg and we love living here and I'm hearing that often from lots of people that have moved here in the last year or two. It's encouraging. So just keep working at it. And I know. And I'll say I wanted to be one of the other couples that did not show up when they then, between the fun day and registered, and the event had actually moved from when we did to Ashburg. So it was another room. But they were actually in the process of moving that weekend and probably when the fun was going on this week. to do the adverb, so it was another one. But they were actually in a process of moving that weekend and apparently, when I found the question on this week's end, I said I'd do the most of the paperwork, so I said I'd do the most of the daily week's teachers did, and then get some more information. And it was positive that they stayed with us a whole bit. We used that lunch, and we just saw where else they came back after. And after just want to say that back after the checkers are all ready, we continue to pull up so we can answer to anyone and answer the call that they're supposed to be. Well, I think we all know we've got a lot to offer and we just need to keep trying to share it with other people. So it's very positive thing. Thank you, Trevor, for the hard work and leading that retirement attraction committee. So that's all I have for the thrills. I just, just a quick comment, you know, the two ribbon cuttings we had last week or a week before would never have been in some set place. I think we're very well. Sort of signals what you're talking about. You know, a lot of positive things going on and you're both fully occupied. I think the residents are happy, the nearby neighbors are happy. So I think that was really this far. I couldn't be there for some time. I've had problems, the hard work and all the times, past them, and both scheduled on the week that I've got family obligations on a town. So I was gotten embarrassed to not be there, but you guys filled in well. Townships, I appreciate you filling in for Saturday morning. Welcome to the open house participants. Linda? I was just happy for the two of us. Be careful. Thanks. Tom, fireworks next week may maybe. It might be sacred. Yeah, which day of fireworks on the phone? Yes. On the phone. Okay. That's at the ball game. I'm going to challenge you. I'm going to. I was in Maine last week and I ran into a couple who were vacationing from Birmingham, Alabama. Did I? I didn't run into him knocking down. But anyway, they were in a cabin beside me on this lake, and I told my smash crew in North Carolina. They knew that we had a zoo here. And they said, I hear that's a really nice town. I went side with what you were saying, and then they were telling me all the troubles of the city of Birmingham and the corruption. And it's the only city in the country that's filed for bankruptcy and all this sort of thing. I did. And it's just refreshing to hear people from another state have heard of us and they've heard positive things about us so that's always good. Thank you. Thank you. Mike? I just hope our citizens have happy with our budget visit coming here Appreciate this tap it's much hard work and effort into it making it work out like it did Bring the good job on a budget which I'll do Happy for July everybody Coming up in month of July is a filing period for Council seats of July is a filing period for council seats. We have some council seats open up for a reelection and the mayor's seat is up this year. I will tell you I plan to be there on the first day of filing to file for another another term. So we'll see what happens but those other half run this time, they can choose to run again out. I support you and wish you'd rest a look. Staff, anything? Well, thank you very much and we'll adjourn this meeting. I'm going to go back.
