We're going to put him keep him as the ICAC and move a sergeant up his position due to the fact that not having to spend any more money for training to train any eye cat, Lieutenant Stonestone is a good job. I just worry that that's going to, now you're going to have your eye cat guy hit a sergeant or lieutenant and none of the others are going to be at that. You know, we're trying to create some parity and that's what he across all the departments. I think it's somewhat problematic. Has two sons at aero space engineers, big military background as well as a pilot today. And so I'd like to move to half-h and I'm appointed to the advisory board. So, this place is you taking the gentleman who was appointed by precinct three. Oh, okay. All the papers. Yeah. Hi. What's the passes? Alrighty, gentlemen, under Article 551-071, the local government code, let's resist this court for executive session. Oh nine eight eight there's one six oh that's eight there's oh nine four nine Okay, do we have any, could it be remarks today? Yes sir. Good morning. Judge Sadler, commissioners, my name is Walter Boyd. I like to start with those announcements because I think formality is a pretty good deal. And you don't have any wine. You've got to have some formalities. But some people just get up there and start talking and I like for them to identify themselves. I know John, he was supposed to talk today, but I don't know what happened. I just wanted to say, are you judge, do you know Judge Pierce from Walker County? What a fine fellow he is in my opinion. I want you all to know that I'm what lived in Walker County until some of the judges darned their chase me out. But I lived there for about four, three, four years and became very active in politics. And today, this might interest you because Walker County is facing a bunch of citizens that I read about that commission, no I can, the old commission and, and hardly. I can't even get excited when he's not here. But look, here's the thing, the venture citizens are all upset about the taxes. They're going to increase the tax rate, the taxes. And I'm going down to the second public meeting tonight and I've been actually invited to speak of this but I'm all these citizen judges, she'll an in-screen in so much smaller courtroom than y'all have got so they pack him there and everybody just starts yelling and screaming don't raise my taxes. I don't think they've got to raise your body. Well, I think it's not very, I think I can't remember exactly what it is now. They have a problem, Judge Sadler, because there's so much tax exempt property in Walker County. The university, and then there's a big deal over a three acre tract, and the university is going to get by it and then become tax exempt. But what kind of a right? I don't know. Judge Pierce spent a lot of time and I'm very grateful to him for trying to explain to me what was going on, but I'm not into finances. I'm in more social issues and all that. But the thing that got me, and I was there talking to some of the people, Judge Commissioner Dole. I had Commissioner Dole. And I've been, you know, these churches just use up a whole bunch of property and they become tax exempt and up there. I can't really report what people have told me because but I'll say it on my own. I really resent these churches a lot of times they buy and sell properties and I don't know how much is going on here but like first I Church, ones that big piece of property right in the center of town. Thank God it there, at their parking lot, it's tax exempt. At least they don't charge for it because a lot of people park there. But I think you ought to look at it, especially what's going on there. One church is buying a place of property. There's another piece of wheeling and dealing. what's going on there there. One church is buying a place, a property there, another piece there, wheeling and dealing there, leaving a vacant thing here and there, becoming tax exempt. But anyway, that's all I'm going to really. I just don't like, I go to a lot of churches and I'm going to have to be there, but I don't like the way they take up and they take so much from the community. And very little is given back in charity from them. If you look at their budgets. So I just ask you to, here's what I did in Houston, Judge Sadler, on one thing. There was a project, I won't go into it, but it was amazing how we got it done. We got the churches to do voluntarily for a community and to use their properties for certain purposes. I won't go into it, but if you're interested, I'll be glad to. And I wouldn't say we shamed them into it because they generously came back, but if you get churches to do things for the community that they're not doing now, I think, and challenge them. Because all they do is build more and more, and then they're just to accommodate their own congregation instead of reaching out and helping people and helping charities. And that's sort of thing. But we got them to do it. It got a Baptist church, a Methodist church, and a Piscopal church altogether, the key nuclear group, and I was pretty instrumental on that. But I didn't go preaching to them, just sort of reason with them. Sometimes I can do that. So I don't know what you're going to do, but it's very interesting today and I just recommend that you talk to Judge Pierce. I've been a real fan of he is and although some aren't, but I think he's doing he and the commissioners are doing a pretty good job to me. But I see a lot of good will with a lot of people around and so I see things that I think maybe because the person's nice to me I sort of mellow but anyway thank you Judge Meadow I mean Commissioner Meadow and appreciate it very much and goodbye and good luck thank you sir any any other citizens coming today in the illicitisins climate today. Your resources. Good morning. Please consider and approve the payroll change request forms. Thank you. I'm going to go to the pass. You must have done so. Yes, I must have moved. Thank you. Have a good day.
