CITY OF JACKSON CEMETERY MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY April 10, 2024 COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Jim Laughton, Chairperson Debby Collins, Committee Member Marjorie Stampfi, Committee Member Jim Wilson, Committee Member Beth Haddorff, Committee Member STAFF IN ATTENDANCE: Max Godde, Council Member Bree Wilder, Public Work Laurie Fishback, Cemetery Sexton Lisa Lucke, Media Volunteer Vice Chair PUBLIC IN ATTENDANCE: None COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: None Chairperson, Jim Laughton called the meeting to order at 10:00a.m. Debby Collins motioned to approve the agenda. Jim Wilson seconded the motion. 1. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES No minutes to approve. 2. PUBLICI MATTERS NOT ON THE AGENDA None 3. MAINTENANCE PROJECTS Bree reported that his crew was able to get the cemetery sprayed with an herbicide SO Next clean update is May 18 @ 10:00 am. Laurie is to contact Teresa Floyd to hopefully next year the weeds will not be as bad. coordinate. 4. SEXTON REPORT Jim & Laurie met with Regina at Daneri's with our concerns. Explained to her that the Public Works Superintendent needed more advanced notice for marking plots. That the line of contact should be Bree, then Laurie. Also, the Committee would like Daneri's diggers to use a masonry: sawi to open plots that have cement caps. (Presently usinga digging bar to open cement caps). It was recommended a copy of The Cemetery Committee's policies be given to Daneri's. Laurie will get that to Regina. Laurie will also contact Teresa Floyd regarding the next clean-up on May 10th. 5. DISCUSSIONI ITEMS The committee asked ift the Web Site could be changed to make it easier for the public to get to the Cemetery portal. Laurie said she would look into it with Carlene. Marge Stampfl said she was working on updating the Cemetery Roll. She was also asked to update the Cemetery fees. She said she would still volunteer here time, when possible, for doing radio announcements and Giving Tuesday in November. She suggested that we have a banner made for the table at Giving Tuesday. She said she would contact Cam Merzlak possibly donating banner. Jim L. asked that all committee members take a drive through the cemetery occasionally just to see that garbage and debris is not being dumped. If something is seen, report it tot the public works department.
