Mayor Comments - Town Manager John Godfrey and Mayor Andrews met with Tri River to start the process and conversation about merger with water and sewer. The meeting went well, and we are looking forward to working with them. As you are aware, we mailed letters to House Representative John Sauls and Senator Jim Burgin regarding our need for funds for the water and sewer systems. Please reach out to them periodically to remind them of our funding needs. 1 Commissioner Collins saw Senator Bergin at an event, and he said he had not forgotten us. Public Works Director, Craig Buchanan will retire from the Town on March 19, 2025. His floating retirement party will be held March 11, 2025, from 3:30pm - 5:30pm at the Broadway Community Building. The Mayor is sending invitations. E-Mails from CWIT are legitimate. Please open these e-mails as they contain security training required by all Commissioners. N. Main Street repairs are scheduled to start next month. Repairs to the curbs and sidewalks will be completed before the Broadway Our Way Festival. Getting updated contact information from our water and sewer customers is exceedingly difficult. We ask frequently throughout the year for customers to contact Town Hall if their phone number needs to be updated. With the road project going on = it is becoming difficult to let out customers know when their water will be turned off because we cannot contact them. Commissioner Collins suggested sending a postcard notice because no one looks at the messages on the bill mostly. Mayor Andrews will investigate the cost and let the Board know next month. With no further business to come before the Town Board, Commissioner Kelly made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Beal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously to adjourn.
