Minutes Council Meeting Tuesday April 22nd 2025 6pm Location: Alamo City Hall In Attendance: Mayor Pamela Lee, City Manager Jeff Floyd, Council Member Steve Jones, Council Member Laura Brownley, Council Member Dondrea Geter, Council Member Bobby Cox, Council Member Patricia Woodard, Council Member Geoffrey Villegas Executive Session (employee matters & litigations) Started at 5:30 pm Meeting Called to order by Mayor Pamela Lee at 6:33pm 1. Invocation, Mayor Protem Laura Brownley 2. Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone 3. Approve the Minutes from the Council Meeting March 17th, 2025 Motion was made by Council Member Brownley to approve the minutes and 2nd by Council Member Cox all unanimously approved 4. Approve Agenda Motion was made to approve agenda for April 22nd Council meeting by Council Member Woodard and 2nd by Council Member Villegas all unanimously approved 5. Finance Report Motion was made to approve the finance report for March 2025 by Council Member. Woodard and 2nd by Council Member Villegas all unanimously approved 6. Eastside Park: updates City Manager stated that the seal bids will be open here at the City Hall on May 8th at 11:00 am. The bid will be for the amphitheater, building over the court, the concreate work and the field. Council Member Woodard asked if the Splash Pad would be open this summer? City Manger Floyd stated that they went down there today moved some dirt, only one side of the water supply was working today sO we will check on that. We will make it open this summer, and it is on à timer. 7. Lawyer City Manger stated we have two lawyers that have showed interest In being the City of Alamo Lawyer, One is Perry Avery with a fee of $200.00 an hour , a $500.00 a month retainer fee. He Represents several Government entities in our area already. The 2nd one is Lawyer Amanda Morris will a cost of $205.00 an hour and mileage to and from Macon to Alamo, also Hourly rate one way for travel. She Represents several Government entities in Middle Georgia area. Motion was made by Council Member Jones to hire Perry Avery to be the City Attorney and 2nd by Council member Villegas and approved by Council Member Brownley, Council Member Cox, Council Member Geter and Opposed by Council Member Woodard. 8. Funding for Eastside Park City Manger Floyd was wanting to suggest that we consider moving money from General Funds to Eastside Park to pay for upcoming projects. This was Tabled until more information can be gathered 9. Senior Banners We have a quote for The senior banners for the black fence from D&C Graphics for $1,440.00 Motion was made to approve the quote by Council member' Woodard and 2nd by Council Member Brownley all unanimously approved 10. Laurel Matulla with ER assist to discuss Grant--- Laurel discussed the Generator Grants . She is working on those to get generators for the city hall. She also discussed there is a grant for a community tornado shelter that we can apply for . Council Member Brownley made a motion to apply for the grant 2nd by Councilmember Geter and unanimously approved by all. Motion was made to apply for the public assistant grant by Council Member Brownley and 2nd by Geter council members Jones, Villegas, and Woodard all approved . Council Member Cox Opposed. 11.1 Pad and Cell phone for City Hall A cell phone and pad need to be purchased for the City hall to conduct business on a lot of things require a cell phone number and we need to avoid personal cell phone numbers being used for this. Motion was made to approve the purchase of a cell phone and Ipad for the City Hall by council member' Woodard and 2nd by Council Member Villegas all unanimously approved 12. Back to School Bash_ The City would like to hold te annual Back to School bash on August gth 2025 to give out school supplies. The motion was made to approve this date by councit member Brownley and 2nd by council member Woodard and all unanimously approved. 13. City Manager Report attached 14.
