Hart County Board of Commissioners met June 24, 2025 at the Hart County Administrative and Emergency Services Center. Chairman Marshall Sayer presided with Commissioners Michael Bennett, Frankie Teasley, Jeff Brown, and Joey Dorsey present at the meeting. 1. PRAYER Prayer was offered by Commissioner Dosey 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Everyone stood in observance of the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. CALL ORDER Chairman Sayer called the meeting to order. 4. WELCOME Chairman Sayer welcomed those in attendance via in person, HTC and YouTube. 5. COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT County Administrator, Terrell Partain gave the Commissioners a list of accidents that occurred at intersections of County Roads and at intersections of County Roads and State highways. 10. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT Chairman Sayer invited everyone to support the Pre 4th event this weekend and the 12 and under Little League Tournament with the Hart County game starting at 1:30 11. COMMISSIONERS REPORTS Commissioner Bennett thanked those that put together the fireworks show this past weekend; asked that everyone keep those that have lost loved ones in the past few weeks in your thoughts and prayers. Commissioner Teasley commended everyone working with Public Safety and all County employees and thanked the Bushhog crew for the work they are doing; offered appreciation to the Hartwell Service League and the Chamber of Commerce for their work on the Pre 4th. Commissioner Brown thanked all those involved with the presentation of the Nancy Hart Memorial Statue dedication; commended all the volunteers and the Recreation Department for the work done on the Courthouse grounds for the upcoming Pre 4th event. PUBLIC COMMENT Ty Thompson, 86 Monica Drive Hartwell, GA offered concerns about the Confederate Statue that has not been replaced by the United Federation of Daughters after 10 years since the statue was broken and removed from the base. Chairman Sayer stated that the monument did not belong to the County and that the Board gave the United Federation of Daughters permission to put the monument there and it is their esponsiDility. Commissioner Dorsey stated that the Board could not force the United Federation of Daughters to put the monument up. 15. EXECUTIVE SESSION - Litigation = Personnel - Real Estate REMOVED 16.
