SIERRA BLANCA, TX 79851 Item # 1- Determination of Quorum and Certify the posting of the agenda. Judge Joanna Mackenzie called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m., the following Elected Officials were present: Joanna Mackenzie County Judge Russell Moore Commissioner Pct. 1 Sergio Quijas Commissioner Pct. 2 Jeffrey Sparger Commissioner Pct. 3 Canuto Mariscal Commissioner Pct. 4-Absent Brenda Sanchez District & County Clerk Item #2- Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance Item #3- Commissioner Moore made a motion to approve the May 27, 2025 minutes. Commissioner Sparger seconded the motion. The motion carried. Commissioner Quijas made a motion to approve the. June 3,2025 minutes. Commissioner Moore seconded the motion. The motion carried. **May 13, 2025Minutes, tabled on 5/27/25, Pending Quorum * * (Passed to the next meeting) Item #4-Citizen' s Communication: None Item #5-Judge Mackenzie made a motion to approve the Hudspeth County Accounts Payable for $110,051.00, the Invoice Listing for $22,216.03 and the check file listing for $14,730.60, ratified, the Condensed Unit will be looked into ($5,500.00). Commissioner Quijas seconded the motion. The motion carried. Item #6-Commissioner. Sparger made a motion to approve County Payroll #18 for 5/3/25-5/16/25 totaling $218,522.41. Commissioner Quijas seconded the motion. The motion carried. Item #7-Commissioner Moore made a motion to table a request for a Reserve Deputy Constable for Precinct 2 until the next meeting June 24, 2025. Commissioner Quijas seconded the motion. The motion carried. Item #8-Commissioner: Quijas made a motion to approve Resolution NO.2025-4 supporting the immediate Federal Action to combat the threat of the new world screwworm fly to livestock, wildlife, and the rural economy. Commissioner Sparger seconded the motion. The motion carried. Item #15- No action was taken concerning the operations of the Hudspeth County Solid Waste Department. A meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2025, with a group that will provide technical assistance to Solid Waste. Mr. Bustamante has updated and submitted the quarterly reports, and he has also finished the quarterly reports for 2025. Additionally, he is experiencing problems with his trash truck. Item #16-Commissioner: Moore made a motion to dispose of surplus of county property that does not hold historical value and is either unusable or no longer in use.
