The Yacht Club property. classified as a Private Club, is zoned ORD (Office Regional District) and requires a Minor Conditional Use and Site Plan approval by the Planning Board. Mr. Freedman explained that because the existing approvals for the Yacht Club involved a rezoning to the ORD district, this proposed new site plan and Minor Conditional Use process will require a Rezone Ordinance Amendment to substitute a new site plan for the currently approved site plan. This amendment with the new site plan will go before the City Commission for final approval. There are several elements to the proposal: An addition of 4,691 sq.ft. to the existing 22,068 sq.ft. second floor clubhouse; an addition of 1,003 sq.ft. to the existing 2,692 sq.ft. outside dining deck area; and a new 8,000 sq.ft. three-story multi-use building to include Club offices, a classroom and fitness space. The clubhouse expansion will allow for the addition of155 seats to be added to the existing 833 seats. The outside dining deck addition will allow the Club to add 66 seats to the existing 179 seats. A 2,540 sq.ft. roof deck is proposed that will have 169 outdoor dining seats. No changes are proposed to the outside pool and deck area or the ancillary 493 sq.ft. pool deck kitchen. There are 171 existing parking spaces. An additional 26 parking spaces will be added for a total of 197 parking spaçes. The operating hours of the Sarasota Yacht Club are not proposed to change and are listed below: SUMMER OPERATIONAL HOURS: May 7-October 1, 2024 Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday and' Tuesday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Wednesday and Thursday, Open 8AM-1IPM Friday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Saturday and Sunday. IN-SEASON OPERATIONAL HOURS: October 3, 2023 -May 6, 2024 Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Open 8AM-11PM Friday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Saturday and Sunday. It is a new dining room that will be used by members when special events are taking place in the main area of the club. Does the kitchen stay the same? There will be a new additional kitchen to serve the grill room. This kitchen will be in the main building. Is the Yacht Club going to hire more staff? Possibly. That will be a management decision. With the additions proposed, you said you are adding only 18 Yes, that is correct. The parking provided will still exceed the number of parking spaces? spaces required by the zoning code. There is concern over where people will park after this There are 24 spaces being added; however, some spaces are being removed expansion. because of the construction resulting in a net increase of 18 spaces. Is any of the expansion going into the Yardarm? No. When will all this start? Not sure on timing or what portion ofthe new work will take place first. Where are the charging stations? No change to the number or location of car charging stations. What is planned to happen in the new detached building? There will be classrooms on the second floor and boater's bathrooms with storage below. Setback and building coverage IS almost maxed out. To create more structured parking additional ramping would be required. What is the occupancy of the new grill room? Approximately 155. Will internal Yacht Club meetings be held with members before There are "Town Hall" type meetings being planned. The number and date the Public Hearings? oft these meetings is a Board decision. How long will the approvals be good for? The site plan has a two-year approval period. The Yacht Club can request an extension of two years from the City Manager. These requests are reviewed on a case- by-case basis. Once construction begins on the project iti is vested. What is happening with the new docks? The dock project is separate from this project. It is our understanding that the final approval oft the dock expansion is waiting on one more permit from the Army Corps of Engineers. Some repairs should be happening soon.
