The Yacht Club property is zoned Residential Single Family 1 (RSF-1). The proposal is to replace the existing building with a new, FEMA compliant single-story building. To allow the proposed redevelopment ofthe Yacht Club, al Major Conditional Use and associated Site Plan must be approved by the City Commission. The new Bird Key Yacht Club clubhouse building will have 21,500 s.f. of air-conditioned floor area and an additional 3,500 s.f. of underroof outside decks and covered car drop off area. A proposed single-story tennis building will have 760 s.f. of air-conditioned space with an outside underroof area of 440 s.f. The indoor dining area will have approximately 328 seats with 70 additional outdoor dining seats. A new pool and two relocated Bocce ball courts are proposed. One new tennis court is proposed to be added to the three existing tennis courts that will remain. The existing parking lot will be redesigned to include approximately 168 parking spaces. PLEASE NOTE: The existing clubhouse, that will be demolished, has 22,300 s.f. of air-conditioned floor area. Lighting is proposed to be added to the tennis courts. The new lights will not be used in the morning and will be turned off every night no later than 9:00 p.m. The operating hours of the Yacht Club Clubhouse are not proposed to change and are listed below: SUMMER OPERATIONAL HOURS: May 30-October 2 (exact dates are determined by calendar) Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday and Tuesday; Open IIAM-9PM, Wednesday and Thursday and Friday; Open 9AM-9PM, Saturday: Open 9AM-8PM, Sunday. IN-SEASON OPERATIONAL HOURS: October 3-May 29 (exact dates are determined by calendar) Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday; Open 11AM-9PM, Tuesday through Friday; Open 9AM-9PM, Saturday; Open 9AM-8PM, Sunday. The Zoning Code (2002 Ed.) oft the City of Sarasota requires that all applicants hold a Community Workshop prior to filing a formal application with the City of Sarasota if requesting one or more of the following applications: Conditional Use; Rezone; Street/ROW Vacation; "G" Zone Waiver; Amendment to the Future Land Use Map Illustration LU-6 ofthe! Sarasota City Plan; Amendments to the text ofthe Sarasota City Plan thata affect a specific and limited area ofthe City (as determined by the Director oft thel Department ofNeighborhood and Development Services); day care. facilities with more than ten children in certain: zone districts; utilization ofGolden Gate Point alternative standards, and/or certain development projects within the Laurel Park Overlay District (LPOD) and North Trail Overlay District (NTOD). The meeting is to inform neighboring property owners, residents, and business owners oft the nature oft the proposed development; explain the site plan, ifany, solicit suggestions and identify concerns; prior to the filing ofai formal development application. This meeting will be conducted by the applicant or their representative; however, a member of the City of Sarasota's staff will be in attendance to address administrative questions. An additional Community Workshop shall be required if: an increase is proposed to the height, density ori intensity of an application occurs tollowing the previous Community Workshop; an amendment is requested that requires action by the Planning Board or City Commission; and/or an application is not filed within 121 months following the previous Community Workshop.
