The Yacht Club property. classified as a Private Club, is zoned ORD (Office Regional District) and requires a Minor Conditional Use and Site Plan approval by the Planning Board. There are several elements to the proposal: An addition of 4,691 sq.ft. to the existing 22,068 sq.ft. second floor clubhouse; an addition of 1,003 sq.ft. to the existing 2,692 sq.ft. outside dining deck area; and a new 8,000 sq.ft. three-story multi-use building to. include Club offices, a classroom and fitness space. The clubhouse expansion will allow for the addition of155 seats to be added to the existing 833 seats. The outside dining deck addition will allow the Club to add 66 seats to the existing 179 seats. A 2,540 sq.ft. roof deck is proposed that will have 169 outdoor dining seats. No changes are proposed to the outside pool and deck area or the ancillary 493 sq.ft. pool deck kitchen. There are 171 existing parking spaces. An additional 26 parking spaces will be added for a total of 197 parking spaces. The operating hours of the Sarasota Yacht Club are not proposed to change and are listed below: SUMMER OPERATIONAL HOURS: May 7-October 1, 2024 Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday, and Tuesday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Wednesday and Thursday, Open 8AM-IIPM Friday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Saturday and Sunday. IN-SEASON OPERATIONAL HOURS: October 3, 2023 -May 6. 2024 Clubhouse Hours: CLOSED Monday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Open 8AM-IIPM Friday; Open 8AM-8:30PM, Saturday and Sunday. The Zoning Code (2002 Ed.) of the City of Sarasota requires that all applicants hold a Community Workshop prior to filing a formal application with the City of Sarasota if requesting one or more oft the following applications: Conditional Use; Rezone; Street/ROW Vacation; "G" Zone Waiver; Amendment tot the Future Land Use Map Illustration LU-6 ofthe Sarasota City Plan; Amendments to thet texto ofthe Sarasota City Plan that affect as specific and limited aread ofthe City (as determined byt the Directoroft the Department ofNeighborhood andi Development Services); day care facilities with more than ten children in certain zone districts; utilization ofGolden Gate Point alternative standards, and/or certain development projects within the Laurel Park Overlay District (LPOD) and] North' Trail Overlay District (NTOD). Thei meetingi is to inform neighboring property owners, residents, and business owners oft the nature of the proposed development, explain the site plan, ifa any, solicit suggestions and identify concerns; prior to the filing of a formal development application. This meeting will be conducted by the applicant or their representatiye; however, a member of the City of Sarasota's staff will be in attendance to address administrative questions. An additional Community Workshop shall be required if: an increase is proposed to the height, density or intensity of an application occurs following the previous Community Workshop; an amendment is requested that requires action by thel Planning Board or City Commission; and/or an application is not: filed within 12 months following the previous Community Workshop. Once a formal application is filed with the City of Sarasota, property owners and registered neighborhood associations within 500 feet oft the subject site will be notified of any public hearings held as the application proceeds throught the Development Review Process.
