Motion Carries 3-0 Insurance County Share Discussion health , BOCC briefly discusses how much the County will pay for county employees insurance for 2024. BOCC approves paying $845 rather than the $746 that they initially agreed upon. Comm. Garcia makes motion to approve the County paying $845 of each county employees health insurance cost as discussed. Comm. Baroz seconds that motion. Motion carries 3-0 Budget Hearing will be held on January 2nd or 3td 2024 at 6:30pm. District Attorney Presentation Anne Kelly: Sheriff Crowther and District Attorney Anne Kelly present Award of Excellence to Deputy Melinda Salazar for the amazing. job she did dealing with a special case. DA Kelly specified that without Deputy Salazar, the Sheriff and the DA could not have made an arrest for the case. Sheriff Crowther takes time to recognize Deputy Moreno with a Life Saving Award when he responded to a Search and Rescue call for a hunter lost in the high country. Deputy Moreno responded to the call, found the hunter, performed life saving procedures and orchestrated removal offthe mountain. The BOCC and the County are grateful to have such great deputies like Deputies Salazar and Moreno working for Conejos County. Sheriff's Report - Garth Crowther: $100,000 Grant awarded for Courthouse Security, will be used for upgrading the entry doors and making the front ADA compliant. Deputy hit a deer with their patrol unit, truck will be sent to repair the damages. Workload has been hard to handle, deputies have been working hard to keep up with all the calls and cases. Sheriff mentions to the BOCC that CBI will add three agents to the SLV field office to help with cases throughout the valley. Black and Gray Grant application is in its early stages, Undersheriff Crowther will proceed with submitting grant. 2 Linda DeHerrera Land Use: Linda discusses with BOCC, landowner Marcie Schulz daughter ofl Leroy Martinez owners of the parcel that Conejos County wants to purchase for the Ambulance Headquarters regarding the replat oft the property in question. Discussion entails questions regarding ifboth parties are willing to replat the parcels. BOCC and the Martinez family both agree to replat the parcels as discussed. Where the County access to the property will be located. Land Use and the Martinez family will move forward to replat the parcel in question. The death rate is 18.0 deaths out of every 100,000 residents. This is 13.04% below the national average death rate. 1.58% of nationwide OD deaths occur in Colorado. More recent data suggests that Opioid deaths have stated to Plateau (September 2023) in part due to Naloxone. 5 Opipid Sutbcategartes Natural opioids include morphine and codeine. Semi-synthetic opioids include oxycodone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone. Methadone is a synthetic opioid that is usually categorized on its own in official data. Synthetic opioids other than methadone include tramadol and fentanyl. Heroin is an illegally manufactured synthetic opioid made from morphine. Garcia wonders if this resolution will allow campers and travelers from up the Canyon to drive the OHV into the municipalities of Conejos County. Conejos County is approving this resolution however none of the municipalities have approved any resolution to allow OHV inside their municipal jurisdictions.
