City of Oak Ridge Kaufman County, Texas City Council Meeting Minutes June 9, 2025 at 6:00 PM Item 1 Call to Order Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem, Jimmy Quick at 6:01 PM. Present were Council Members, Janelle Davis, Scherri Holmes, Nena Langford, and Rolando Guzman. Chief Bill Weatherly, Assistant Chief Michael Loesch and Court Administrator Skyler Walker were also in attendance. Mayor Paul Hullar was absent. Item 2 Citizen Input No input was given at this time. Item 3 Update on Court Activities of May 2025 - (Skyler Walker) Update on court activities were to include, 90 cases set for court on June 11, 2025. May citations will be $7,417.30 to the state, $10,489.77 to the city. MVBA will collect $317.03 and $18.00 to OMNI. Item 4 Discuss, Consider, Action Municipal Justice Software Implementation = Court Administrator / Extra Hours Mayor approved extra hours for Court Administrator for Implementation of Municipal Justice Software. A11 others being in favor, motion carried. Item 5 Discuss, Consider, Action to Approve Council Meeting Minutes of May 27, 2025 Motion was made by Scherri Holmes and seconded by Rolando Guzman to approve City Council Minutes of May 27, 2025. All others being in favor, motion carried. Item 6 Discuss, Consider, Action to Approve Payment of June 9, 2025 Bills/Invoices Motion was made by Nena Langford and seconded by Scherri Holmes to approve Bills/Invoices of June 9, 2025. All others being in favor, motion carried. Item 7 Discussion on Police Department - Chief, Bill Weatherly Chief Bill Weatherly stated that new ticket writers will go live on June 10, 2026, tomorrow. He's looking at two new officers. He will also get rid of old metal detectors from council chambers. Officers will be doing a ride along with Kaufman County. Item 8 Discussion on Code Enforcement - (Donnie Spradlin) Donnie Spradlin, Code Enforcement, gave a grass notice by mail to 8138. He spoke with new construction contractors on Water Oak and informed them that they are in compliance. He has also picked up 27 advertisement signs in two weeks. Item 9 Discuss on Roads Still waiting on approval from Texas Bit for payment of unapproved final invoice requirements. Riverside still need to fix road by construction trailer where asphalt meets concrete. Riverside billboard on Oak Valley is still incorrect. No left turn from Abner, Jimmy to put them up.
