The Conditional Use and Site Plan applications are in support of a proposed expansion to the existing church and associated parking on an existing 2.89-acre site. The subject site is addressed as 1899 S. Tuttle Ave Sarasota, FL, 34239, lying within the City of Sarasota, and identified on Sarasota County's GIS Mapping as Parcel Identification Number 0055130036. The Applicant will be hosting an in-person Community Workshop located at the South Shore Community Church in the main auditorium, pursuant to the City of Sarasota, Section IV-201, to review the proposed Subject Property. The workshop presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. on MAY6, 2025. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC HEARING. The purpose of the workshop is to inform neighboring residents of the nature of the proposal, discuss the Development Concept Plan, answer questions, and seek comments. The meeting will be recorded. The meeting is to inform neighboring property owners, residents, and business owners of the nature of the proposed development, explain the site plan, if any, solicit suggestions and identify concerns; prior to the filing of a formal development application. This meeting will be conducted byt the applicant or their representative; however, a member oft the City of Sarasota's staff will bei in attendance to address administrative questions. An additional Community Workshop shall be required if: an increase is proposed to the height, density or intensity of an application occurs following the previous Community' Workshop; an amendment is requested that requires action by the Planning Board or City Commission; and/or an application is not filed within 12 months following the previous Community Workshop. Once a formal application is filed with the City of Sarasota, property owners and registered neighborhood associations within 500 feet of the subject site will be notified of any public hearings held as the application proceeds through the Development Review Process.
