MINUTESOF REGULAR PU BLIC MEETING May 12, 2025 Council Approved on June 16, 2025 1. CALLT TO ORDER-Mayor Grisham called the meeting to order at 5:30pm 2. ROLL CALL-Members present for roll call were as follows; to wit: Mayor Grisham, Councilwoman Gonzales, Councilwoman Spears, Councilwoman Brown, Councilwoman Klepac and Councilwoman Amick. 3. INVOCATION- Councilwoman Gonzales gave the invocation. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT (Limited to Three minutes per person)- N/A 5. Mayor Report: Mayor Grisham stated that due to unforseen circumstances City Hall was closed on Wednesday May 7th and due to no power was also closed on Thursday May gth. 6. Public Works Report: Dean Thompson Public Works director stated they have laid 600 ft of pipe on Almante, still has about 800 ft to replace. Sewer line on Preston St. has collapsed but they need to put in 2t taps before they can fix it. 7. Sheriff Pounds Report: Council was given a handout from Sheriff Pounds regarding the traffic stops and calls for the month of April. 8. Library Report: N/A 9. Emergency Management Report: Christopher Hotaling with Emergency Management introduced himselfas the CLO for Comanche Coutny. He is a TDEM rep. 10. DD Report: Council was given a handout from Jerry Leonard regarding DD events and news. 11. Municipal Court Report: Council was given a handout from the Judge explaining the monies brought in by the court. 12. City Secretaries' Report: N/A 13. City Administrator Report: City Administrator Denman was not present for the Council meeting. Councilmembers were given April" S financials. Several questions were asked. 14. CONSENT (AUTOMATIC APPROVAL) AGENDA: (AII consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember requests an item be removed and considered separately.) Minutes: April 14, 2025 - Councilwoman Amick made a motion to approve April 14, 2025 minutes. Councilwoman Brown seconded that motion. All members present were in favor. Motion carried. 15. REGULAR AGENDA: (Discuss and consider the following items) A. Agenda Request - Striping of side streets for parking Mike Fiegel After much discussion regarding the striping for parking. Councilwoman Amick made a motion for Dean to paint the fire lane on W. Gonzlaes St and to get prices for parking markers for the next Council meeting. Councilwoman Brown seconds that motion. All members present were in favor. Motion carried. B. 2025 Rodeo Association Contract Councilwoman Spears made a motion to approve the 2025 Rodeo Association contract. Councilwoman Gonzales seconds that motion. All members present were in favor. Motion carried. C. Lights on Bell St. Park Councilwoman Klepac made a motion to approve street lights with Oncor for basketball courts at City park. Councilwoman Spears seconds that motion. All members present were in favor. Motion carried. D. Ordinance #003-25, Canvass May 2025 Election Councilwoman Amick made a motion to approve Ordinance #003-25, Canvass May 2025 Election. Councilwoman Gonzales seconds that motion. All memebers present were in favor. Motion carried. E. Ordinance #004-25, Ordering Special Election (Runoff) (English)- Councilwoman Gonzales made a motion to approve Ordinance #004-25, Ordering Special Elecion (Runoff) (English).
