Park and Recreation- Kona Ice is scheduled for May 10th opening day of park. Motion to rent the Inflatable Slide from Weirton Rental in the amount of $575.00 delivery and setup. Died lack of a second Beth Hoppe made the Motion for purchase new concrete parking curbs for the park from RC Concrete for $35.00 each. Second by James Smith II Questions/Comments: None Moton carried-None Opposed Beth Hoppe made the Motion to purchase treated 14-6x6x14 and 4-6x6x8 for park from Elemental Supply in the amount of $897.00. Second by James Smith II Questions/Comments: Beth Hoppe this is a purchase for safety reasons, correct? Ken McKinney, Materials are needed to raise the swing area. James Smith "I feel that the price is high and could got better price from Weirton Lumber." Motion carried-None Opposed 4. Solicitor Report- Ken McKinney made the Motion to advertise the Center Avenue One Way Ordinance Second by-Beth Hoppe Questions/Comments: None Motion carried-None Opposed Beth Hoppe made the Motion to advertise the new one-way traffic notice. Second by James Smith II Questions/Comments: None Motion carried-None Opposed Lane Turturice addressed the court hearing for the Whipkey property- conservatorship. 5. Mayor Report/Police Report/Fire Report-Luke Snatchko Police report read as filed. Ken McKinney asked the police to patrol the park area. 6. New Business- Beth Hoppe made the Motion to pay William's tree service $1,000.00 for an emergency tree removal on Stella Street. Second by James Smith II questions/Comments: None Motion carried-None Opposed Beth Hoppe made the Motion to purchase 12 stop signs in the amount of $60.00 each will be taken out of the Liquid Fuel Fund. Second by James Smith II questions/Comments: None Motion carried-None Opposed Ken McKinney addressed the council on eliminating the uniform service for the Street Department. men would like to go back to short and long sleeve tee shirts. The borough will purchase (7) shirts for the first six months and (7) for the last six months. Sewage Authority letter will be discussed at the upcoming meeting 7. Old Business- 8. Correspondence- 9. Council Remarks- Luke Snatchko discussed the Tourism grant was approved. The advertisement will be on the billboard behind McElhaney's garage. John Cherok asked about the planters that were in the front oft the park. Ken McKinney, "They are being stored at the borough building for now." John Cherok addressed Luke Snatchko regarding the blight program. John Cherok would like the borough and Washington County to take into consideration money for this building. 10. Public Comments/Questions: Kobe Sarracino questioned ifthe residents on Center Avenue were made aware of the one-way street. Ken, yes, most of them wanted the street to become one-way. Kobe Sarracino spoke on the pine tree at Bridge Street which was donated in honor ofthe Sarracino family. Showed pics of trees affected by rock salt Collected the rock salt that was found under the tree. People were approaching Kobe and asking what was happening to her pine tree. Kobe addressed that she is appalled that someone could do something SO cruel to a tree that was in honor of her family. The tree was placed at the location because her father mowed that area. Kobe will pray for the person who was responsible for this his or her actions. The person responsible has a lot of issues. 11.
