Banners are to be displayed for a period of Two Weeks MAXIMUM Banners are hung up on Monday's, in the event of weather conditions, (rain, wind, etc.) or City holiday's, banners will be hung up as soon as possible, typically the next day. Drop Off of banner should be no sooner than 3 days of display date and Picked Up no later than 3 days after removal. Cost to display banner is $125.00 for a two-week period. If you wish to display banner for a one-week period cost will remain the same. Banner reservations will ONLY be made 1 year in advance. Banner Requirements: A Professional Sign/Design Company must make banners, hand painted or homemade banners will NOT be allowed. Banners must be made of BREATHABLE MATERIAL to allow airflow, preferably mesh. Length of banner must be 40 - 45 feet max and have a width of 36 - 48 inches max All 4 sides of banner must be fully sewn with metal fixed loop swivel clips sewn in (minimum of 4 on top and 4 on bottom; including corners) and 3 feet of nylon rope at each corner. NO REFUNDS will be made by The City in the case of canceled event/activity. The City of Uvalde is NOT responsible for loss or damage to any banners. All banners must follow City Ordinance 2011-22. Temporary banner permits are not issued to businesses for this purpose; however, special events must comply with the temporary banner regulations for signs. Regulations for Temporary Banners are as follows: 1008.2.3 Special promotion, event and grand opening signs. Signs temporarily displayed to advertise special promotions, events and grand openings shall be permitted for nonresidential uses in a residential district, and for all commercial and industrial districts subject to the following limitations: 1. Such signs shall be limited to one sign per street front. 2. Such signs may be displayed for not more than 30 consecutive days in any 3-month period, and not more than 60 days in a calendar year. The signs shall be erected not more than 5 days prior to the event or grand opening, and shall be removed not more than 1 day after the event or grand opening. 3. The total area of all such signs shall be discussed with Planning and Development department prior to erecting of sign. In addition to the regulations listed above, the following also apply: A. An individual business banner may be located on the building only. A commercial center banner may be located on the building or on the ground. In no instance shall an individual tenant be permitted a ground-mounted temporary banner. B. Banners displayed within or on a window are not permitted. C. The maximum height of any building mounted banner shall be below the roofline. Erection and Removal of banner: You are responsible for the erection and removal of the temporary banner. Please be aware that the City of Uvalde is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property.
