NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING TAZEWELL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, pursuant to Sections 2.2-3701 and 2.2-3707(D), of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended: WHEREAS, the Governor of Virginia has declared a state of emergency in accordance with Section 44-146.17 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended; WHEREAS, the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors has declared a local state of emergency in accordance with Section 44-146.21 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, which shall extend through at least November 15, 2020; WHEREAS, the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors adjourned its regularly scheduled October 15, 2020 meeting to November 10, 2020 at 4:00 PM; WHEREAS, certain business has arisen in the interim which necessitates the scheduling and holding of a Special Meeting, pursuant to Section 2.2-3707(D) of the Code of Virginia; and WHEREAS, the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors desires to give the citizens of Tazewell County and the general public ample notice of this Special Meeting, which will allow the citizens of Tazewell County and the general public to provide the greatest possible input regarding the subject matter of the Special Meeting; NOW THEREFORE, Charles A. Stacy, Chairman of the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors, has requested that a Special Meeting of the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 4:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be convened, at the County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, VA 24651, for the purposes as below set forth: I. Based upon the recommendations of the WHO, CDC, VDH, and the Governor of Virginia, attendance at the County Administration Building will be limited to fifty percent (50%) of the occupancy of the facilities while maintaining social distancing, which number includes Tazewell County Board of Supervisors members and County personnel.
