PUBLIC APPEARANCE Jared Johnson reported a truck moved a boulder into the street at the Cannabis gas station on Monterey Street requested staff look into moving it, PRESENTATION 1. Direction to proceed with the Budget process and schedule the matter for a public hearing and action on June 10, 2025, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. City Manager Patrick Martinez gave staff report. Council Discussion ensued, suggestions were made regarding further beach clean-up, and new bathrooms at Animal Shelter being funded by Kippy Poulson's donation. NPUA / COUNCIL CONSENT CALENDAR 2. Award bid to Golden West Fence for the Housing Authority of the City of Needles Primary Fencing Project in the amount of $200,526.55 plus 15% contingency for a total project cost of $230,605 and authorize staff to execute a Public Works Agreement with Golden West Fence and move forward with the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed. Spoke about Animal Shelter needing kitten food. Ar resident on Walnut street asked her about the bumned house and its status. Cardy Camp looks good - thanked staff for getting it cleaned up - spoke about its history. Reported on ICSC and Tourism summit she attended. Thanked the Mayor for her involvement and leadership on tourism. Reported Wilma Baldwin's funeral is on June 7 at 10:30 Memorial Day weekend events were a success - lots of tourism, thanked Sheriff's department for keeping everyone safe. Zach Lopez headstone ordered - will have ceremony. Council Member Pogue Broadway and D street palm trees were cleaned up - thanked city staff. Asked when Council Chambers would be finished - move meetings back there. Council Member Belt Thanked Krikit Glass for her efforts with Lynn's Garden Council Member Longbrake = no requests Mayor Jernigan Thanked sponsors and all who helped with Run for the Wall - reported on its success and how many people that are involved in the ride expressed gratitude to the city of Needles for putting on such a grand event. Thanked Cheryl Sallis, Sheriff's department, Tribe, and all who volunteered for the Memorial day ceremony at the cemetery. Reported on the Inland Empire event. Announced Info fair on February 15 promoting 100th Anniversary of Route 66 Reported Museum is privately owned and run by volunteers - had 1920 visitors last year from all over the world - US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
