Reports from the 1st Marine Battalion Regiment, USS Stockdale, and 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment Representatives Gunnery Sargeant Gabrial De Anda, 1st Marine Battalion Regiment stated that the Alpha Command is deployed in the Marine Rotational Force Darwin. They are split in Australia and the Philippines. Chair McGrath stated that the USS Stockdale was deployed on the west coast for drug smugglers and then will be going to Seal Beach. They will be back mid June-July and will possibly be able to plan a family picnic day. Committee Member Bowman stated that the 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment are getting ready for their annual training at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Center near Mono Lake. 2. Sub-Committee Reports Recommendation Hear reports from: July 4th Celebration = Committee Member Tuma will check with the Director of the YMCA. Committee Member Abrams asked to receive a head count before the event. Baby Care Packages Vice Chair Caldwell stated that the event at Walmart is June 7th & 8th from 10:00 am = 4:00 pm. She requested that everyone take at least one shift and pass flyers out to friends, family and businesses. There will be 3 drop boxes at city locations. Care Packages - Committee Member Hoskins stated that Sebrina King was requesting sheets and towels/socks. Car Wash - Plaza De La Paz and the DJ are lined up. Blaze Pizza, Starbucks and Toni Pepperoni will be donating food/drinks. ARCO will be donating ice and Carlos will be helping with the wash. Holiday Parade - None. Holiday Toy Drive - None. Letter Writing = Committee Member Zueck state that, with the revisions, the flyer was approved and sent out. They are ready for the students coming back in the fall. He is requesting committee members sign up for the July 4th event from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Committee Member Chiaverini dropped of stationary at Niguel Hills Middle School and will pick them up when ready. Major Fundraising Vice Chair Caldwell asked what the process was for sponsorships. Committee Member Smith described the sponsorship levels on the letter. Chair McGrath explained that all sponsors will be able to have the business logo on a poster at all events. The higher the sponsorship level, the higher the Military Support Committee Minutes Page 3 of 4 May 19, 2025 exposure. Sea Country Festival - The festival will be held August 22nd-24th. Scholarships Committee Member Bowman stated the winner who lives in Arkansas, we will need to mail her a check. The other winner, we are looking for a time to do a presentation at a City Council meeting. Social Media = Committee Member Hoskins stated that she has updated the flyers for the car wash and the baby drive. The digital form will be posted soon. The brochure needs updated SO an updated group photo would be needed. She is working with Favian Bravo for a new logo. She spoke with Committee Member Smith and they are working together to have the Military Support Committee Foundation's Facebook page support Military Support Committee events. She stated the Foundation's website doesn't mention the Military Support Committee. Card David, with the Military Support Foundation, stated there was a fee to add anything to the Foundation's website. Committee Member Smith will find out why the Military Support Committee information is no longer on the foundations' website. Special Needs = None. Veterans Day - None. 7.
