(City Manager) Councilmember Casey spoke regarding the consideration to cancel the May 26, 2025, City Council meeting and adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget. The following members of the public spoke: John Warren spoke regarding the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget, cancelled meetings in November and December, and planning in advance. Dave Pratt spoke regarding when the Special City Council meeting will be held. Mayor Lopez closed public comment. Council and staff discussion included changing the meeting date, public workshop, delaying City business, having a Special City Council meeting, Fiscal Year 2025- 2026 budget, planning in advance, allowing staff to look at staff availability for setting a Special City Council meeting date. Council and staff discussion included lighting bids received by Ceres Youth Baseball, Turlock Irrigation District lighting grant, communication on ARPA spending, timeline for Costa Field improvements, Alliance Building Solutions solar project, contract terms, maintenance of facilities, letter of support to Turlock Irrigation District, and process of approving the contract. Councimember Vierra spoke regarding Section 8 funding, communication by the Ceres Police Department, attending a conference, support for anyone wanting to attend community college, the Ceres Street Faire and connecting with the public.
