DRAFT Manager's Report - 6/2/25 General Fund Related 1. Borough masonry sign maintenance / repairs (Update): The pre-cast cap to the office sign to prevent future water damage issues has been ordered. We will install it as soon as we receive it. 2. Evidence Room door and security system: The evidence room door and the door separating the (2) police offices have been installed. The office security system is scheduled to be installed in the first week of June. 3. Zoning Permits: (5) zoning permit was issued in the month of April. 4. Attig Park pavilion reroofing: I am waiting for final quotes to reroof the pavilion. The quotes will include one to reroof with a 30-year shingle and the other to install a 40-year standing seam concealed fastener type roof. I am anticipating the estimates to be under $12,900. 5. Tree Removal - Garden Circle: We are trying to secure a tree service to remove (2) large tress that are connected to our park site, near Wellerfield, that are in danger of falling into an adjacent neighbor's yard. We want to remove them ASAP. 6. 2025 Streets: Queen Avenue Milling and Reconstruction & Maple Street between gth & 10th Avenues - Bids due by August 4th meeting. Approx. cost = $125,000. Fabri-dam Park Entrance Road Reconstruction and new guiderail installation. Final bidding format to be established by DCNR. Approx. cost = $52,000. 7. Wellerfield Ballfield Project: Still waiting on the engineer to submit a formal proposal and construction estimates. 8. Little Libraries: They have been installed at Treas, Attig and Weller parks. 9. 2025 Sunbury Generation Annual Golf Tournament (to benefit the Borough parks): The tournament will be held at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club on Wednesday June 25th at 10:00 am. This tournament has raised over $192,913 towards the Borough recreation capital improvement and park maintenance fund since 2007. Water / Sewer Related 1. Communication Upgrade at Raw Water Station: The work was completed in the week of May 20th, and the new system is up and running. 2. Upcoming Training - Wastewater Collection Systems: Iwill be attending a one-day class on June 10th reviewing updated wastewater collection systems and general maintenance practices. 3. Sewer Line Flushing: The flushing was completed by the Sunbury Municipal Authority crew at two locations. We have some tree roots in the area of 10th Avenue and used a root cutter to break up the worst areas. We now will chemically treat the area for total removal of any remaining roots. The pipe is now flowing at a normal rate. The issues in the Old Trail area were primarily grease related. 4. Lead & Copper Testing: The Borough is required to test for lead and copper in our distribution system at a minimum of ten (10) locations every three (3) years. I am working with DEP to finalize the list for this round. 1 - Water / Sewer Related 5. Recent PennDOT Resolution Financial Obligation Recap: Resolution 2025-4: Approved last month is a 25% match to total cost of the required CSVT water and sewer line relocations near the elevated water tank and in front of Bob Evans Restaurant: Borough estimated construction match = $115,120 plus engineering. Resolution 2025-5: Scheduled to be approved this month is a 25% match fort the total cost of Routes 11&15 resurfacing project to include replacement, ring adjustments and related items at Borough owned water valve caps and sewer manholes at locations within the PennDOT roadway. The estimated construction match for this project = $9,500 plus engineering. Approximate Engineering Costs (25% for both resolutions): $12,000. Miscellaneous 1. Royal Farms Site Update: The final PennDOT HOP was issued the week of May 12th. Hopefully, we will begin to see progress on the site in June. 2. 2024 Financial Audit (Update): The 2024 Annual Audit and Financial Report was electronically filed with the Governor's Center for Local Government Services.
