PUBLIC COMMENT No public comment. IV. CONSENT AGENDA 1. Approve the minutes of the City Commission Meeting of April 22, 2025. 2. Discuss and consider approval of the final plat of Texas Star Plaza Subdivision requested by S2 Engineering, PLLC on behalf of owner, Zemong Enterprises, LLC. Motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Mayor Pro Tem Arturo Galvan Jr. and seconded by Commissioner Ricardo Garza. Motion carried 5-0. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. Oaths of Office. Ricardo Gonzalez, City Attorney, presented the Oaths ofOffice. Alton City Commission Minutes -Regular Meeting May 13, 2025 2. Discuss and consider the adoption of Proclamation 2025-05, proclaiming May 18-24, 2025 as National Public Works Week. Mauro Sandoval, Public Works Director, presented the proclamation for Public Works Week, highlighting the wide variety of essential services provided to the City's residents, including solid waste collection, recycling, sewer services, street maintenance, drainage, facility upkeep, and various infrastructure maintenance and repairs. Staff recommended approval. Motion to approve was moved by Mayor Pro Tem Arturo Galvan Jr. and seconded by Commissioner Ricardo Garza. Motion carried 5-0. 3. Discuss and consider approval of Resolution 2025-18, granting authority to accept an award for the FY2025 STEP Click it or Ticket Grant and naming the Chief of Police as the authorized official. Mark Perez, Police Chief, stated that this item is to request approval to accept a grant in the amount of $4,977.50 through the TxDOT Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). The grant includes a required match of $1,518.64 to cover fringe benefits. This funding will support two weeks of enforcement during the "Click It or Ticket" campaign and will help cover overtime costs for officers working to make highways and roadways safer for the citizens of Alton.
