CHAPTER 551. THAT THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF CRANDALL WILL CONDUCT A SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. ON MONDAY. MAY 12. 2025, AT5 5:30 P.M. AT THE COURT CHAMBERS LOCATED AT 104 EAST TRUNK ST. CRANDALL. TEXAS 75114. SPECIAL MEETING 1. Open Meeting, Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance- Mayor Lindsey called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and led the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Roll Call and Declaration of a Quorum and Call to Order- Mayor Lindsey conducted roll call. Councilmember Atkins was absent. All other Councilmembers were present and a quorum was present. 3. Discussion and Possible Action on Ordinance No. 05122025 = An Ordinance of the City of Crandall. Texas, Canvassing and Certifying the election returns, including the returns of early voting ballots cast in connection with the Special Election held on Saturday May 3, 2025, regarding the choosing of a Charter Commission in order to adopt a Home Rule Charter. Declaring the results; providing for the Certification of Election results to the Texas Secretary of State; and providing an effective date- Councilmember Holden made a motion to approve. Councilmember Allen seconded the motion. The motion was carried out with a unanimous vote of 3-0. 4. Administer the Oath of Office, Statement of Elected Official and Election Certificate to Mayor David Lindsey, Councilmembers Caleb Allen, and Kimberly Herrera- City Secretary Sabrina Del Bosque conducted the Oath of Office individually on May David Lindsey, Councilmember Caleb Allen, and Councilmember Kimberly Herrera. Mayor Lindsey, Councilmember Allen and Councimember Herrera signed the Oath of Office and Statement of Elected Official paperwork. 5. Adjourn- Councilmember Herrera made a motion to adjourn at 5:35 p.m. Councilmember Holden seconded the motion. The motion was carried out with a unanimous vote of 4-0.
