Goble Post 974 of the American Legion: Mike Janto - Post 974 Judge Advocate: Mike Janto, Post 974 Judge Advocate, introduced the Patrick M. Goble Post 974 of the American Legion. Representing the group, member Monte Andrews, spoke on the Legion's mission and highlighted several of its ongoing outreach initiatives. He emphasized the group's steadfast commitment to serving veterans and supporting their needs within the community. As part of their upcoming activities, Post 974 will honor deceased service members by placing American flags at their gravesites. 5.2) Chamber ofCommerce Quarterly Report: A. McKee: Allison McKee, Director ofthe Chamber of Commerce, presented an update to the Council regarding recent Chamber activities. She provided an overview of new members and highlighted various programs the Chamber has recently organized, including luncheons and ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Ms. McKee also reported that the annual Bluebonnet Festival was deemed a success, despite several changes implemented this year. Preliminary attendance figures indicate a higher turnout compared to previous years. 5.3) Municipal Court Quarterly Report: H. Sutton: Heather Sutton, Court Administrator, presented the quarterly report for the Municipal Court. She provided total case figures along with a detailed breakdown by case type. Mrs. Sutton also gave an update on cases currently in collection, noting that 1,052 cases are in active collection status. Thanks to the efforts of a newly engaged collection agency, the Court has recently recovered $4,500. Additionally, the Municipal Court completed a traffic safety coloring contest in partnership with Burnet Consolidated Independent School District (BCISD) and launched the RED Program in the Burnet area. In recognition of these initiatives, the Burnet Municipal Court was honored with the 2025 Municipal Traffic Safety Award at a recent conference. 5.4) Monthly Financial Report: P. Langford: Patricia Langford, Finance Director, provided a financial update indicating that the City of Burnet's General Fund remains in a strong position. Property tax collections are exceeding projections, and sales tax revenues have shown a strong upward trend. Mrs. Langford also reviewed the performance of individual departments. EMS transports have decreased compared to last year, while green fee rounds at the golf course have reached an all-time high. The Electric Department continues to outperform last year's sales, as does the Water Department. As of the report, the City's "Unrestricted" cash balance over the 90-day reserve stands at $4,201,201, while the "Restricted by Council" fund holds a balance of$5,136,108.
