Call to Order Ms. Warburton called the meeting to order at 3:07 p.m. Introductions were made. Public Comment for Agenda Items There were no public comments. Approval of Minutes Ms. Warburton asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the July 18, 2024 meeting. Ms. Stover made a motion to approve, Mr. Szura seconded. In favor: 5 Opposed: 0 Abstentions 0 Early Intervention Report Ms. McDonald reported the Early Intervention numbers for August 2024: There was a total of 522 children; 484 were active with plans and 38 were enrolled in tracking. There were 67 referrals. Center for Community Resources served 652 children during Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Ms. McDonald reported that we are participating in a Pennsylvania initiative to provide coaching services to parents to embed into their family routines. This is a model that we have used in the past in Butler County through a grant. Now it is a statewide initiative. Intellectual Disabilities Report Ms. Melissa Vettori gave the Intellectual Disabilities report in Sarah Wearing's absence. She handed out copies of the Fall edition of The Vision and gave an overview of upcoming events and activities. We are serving about 840 people in Butler County who have intellectual 1 I MHEIID Advisory Board Meeting September 19, 2024 disabilities, developmental disabilities, medically complex conditions, or autism. In order to serve more people with larger events, we now have quarterly activities, instead of monthly. She announced the annual Christmas party will be held on December 10th at the Atrium. Ms. Vettori gave an overview of the groups, programs, and activities that she is involved with including our collaborative, the self-advocacy group, the parent support group, a first responder initiative, and speaking at the EMS classes at Butler County Community College and at the CIT- Crisis Intervention Trainings. Mental Health Report Ms. Rettig reported that this month is Suicide Awareness month and gave an overview of events and activities that the suicide coalition is doing throughout the month. She reported that Marcie Friel from our office is working with the Community Support Program on several projects and activities in order to engage more individuals. Ms. Rettig reported that we will have a kickoff meeting on October 15 for MHY's Multi- Systemic Therapy/problematic sexual behaviors program. MHY and Children and Youth staff will attend. MHY's evidence based Multi-Systemic Therapy programs also include MST standard and MST psychiatric. Last year MST standard served 39 individuals and MST psychiatric served 44 individuals. These programs are a diversion to prevent kids from going into residential treatment facilities SO they can remain in their home. Ms. Rettig reported that we have revised and reposted the Quality Assurance position. Our focus is to ensure that people are getting quality services that make an impact on their lives. We are hoping to find someone who will go into agencies and talk to individuals and staff to ensure that true outcomes for people are taking place. Our Mental Health Association's: rep payee program has been holding classes on budgeting basics and ways to stretch money by using coupons, looking for sales, etc. The goal for the rep payee program is to help as many people as possible to become independent with their finances. The CARE Center is starting the LGBTQIA2S+ coalition. They plan to meet the 2nd Wednesday ofthe month. For questions or information email BuleAD-@outokcon Ms. Rettig reported that she, Tara Hamilton, and retired Sherriff's Deputy, Mark Peffer meet with first responders every other month. She talked about presentations that have been given at prior meetings and how they have helped law enforcement, including the Butler City Police, work with our crisis providers to better support the individuals that we serve. Fiscal Report Mr. Achezinski reviewed the fiscal report which was through June 30, 2024. New Business MH/EI/ID Administrator Report 2 MHEIID Advisory Board Meeting September 19, 2024 Mr. Savochka reported that we received a 5% increase in the state budget. This is the same percentage that we have received in the past two years after not having an increase in twelve years. The Aging Lottery funds have not been released. Butler County will be short about $430,000 in the Aging budget. These dollars are for home delivered meals and our senior centers. Costs have increased significantly since Covid. Seniors across the state have been contacting representatives and the governor's office requesting the lottery funds be released. Mr. Savochka reported that one ofthe items we added to the budget this year is Rise Up Rides. CYS added dollars for Rise up Rides to their 2025-2026 needs-based budget also. The Warming Center will open on October 28. It will be the same as last year where people will need to get a voucher from CCR Crisis or Catholic Charities. Every morning there will be someone from Catholic Charities or CCR to provide assistance with getting permanent housing. Currently the recovery center is open three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There are over 100 individuals who have applied for membership. Board Members' Concerny/Comments/Amnouncements Ms. Clouse spoke about the Butler Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment Surveys. She provided copies ofboth the community and the stakeholder surveys to the Board. 2025 Meeting Dates Ms. Warburton reviewed the 2025 meeting dates for the Board and asked for a motion to approve. Ms. Stover made a motion to approve and Mr. Szura seconded. In favor: 5 Opposed: 0 Abstentions 0 Mr. Savochka announced that the holiday breakfast will be on December 12 this year.
