Workshop of Mayor & Council City O; Maysville City Hall 4 Homer Street 3 Maysville, GA 30558 5 April 24, 2025, AT 6PM EeTe Present: Richard Presley Richard Parr, Ward 3, Mayor Pro Tem Kimberly Wilmoth, Ward 1 Amanda Farley, Ward 2 Brodriche Jackson, Ward 4 Kim Jackson, City Clerk Douglas Kidd, City Attorney Absent: At 6:00 p.m. Mayor Richard Presley called the workshop to order. I. Old Business a. EMI Update Chip McGaughey gave an update on well 5. Chip received a quote from the hydrogeologists Emory and Garrett for their services hourly nott to exceed $3,500.00. They would like to install a transducer in the well to monitor the water level. Chip received a quote from Zile Technology for $4,689.00 that includes installation. This transducer will connect to the existing telemetry system. Chip was asked to research new well locations, he will look into quotes for hydrogeologists. b. Lighting Update Georgia Power has returned a quote for the city park; we will get back with them on the possibility of existing underground power being at the park. Georgia Power is waiting on approvals for the Veterans Park before they send the photometric map over. C. Veteran Park Wall and Stairs We have one quote but will post it to get more. d. Signs for City Buildings The city has the pictures of the signs designs for City Hall, Police Department and the Library. e. DDA Beautification Project Update/Dates The DDA has a downtown beautification project planned in Veteran's Park on Tuesday, May 6th at 9am to plant flowers and trees. The first farmers market is May 3rd f. July 4th/5th They are still working on contacts and getting things lined up for the event and would love volunteers. g. Employee Handbook A comparison was presented to the mayor and council of surrounding cities and counties. h. City Logo DDA has worked on narrowing down the city logo for the Mayor and Council to select. i. Temporary Use Living in Campers This was discussed and tabled until next meeting. j. Park Rentals This will be voted on at the Monday May 5th meeting. k. Nuisance Ordinance The council has requested several changes be made to the ordinance. II. New Business a. City Phones The city clerk presented a new phone system to the council and would like to switch the city over as a whole to Sangoma. b. TSPLOST IGA The proposed TSPLOST agreement was presented to the council, the attorney will look over the agreement. C. Department Head Update The Egg hunt was a success for the library and the funding for the renovations will hopefully be signed by Gov. Kemp. Public Works are continuing to work on road repairs and general landscape maintenance. Police completed a traffic stop that resulted in a drug bust. The Land Use Management Code is now updated on the website. III. Matters from Mayor & Council IV. Citizen Comment V. Adjournment Mayor Richard Presley asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
