Washington County Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting April 10, 2025 9:00am Commissioners Present: Horace Daniel, Doug Watkins, Bobby Jackson, James Hitchcock Jr., Frank Simmons Jr. Prayer & Pledge Call Meeting to Order Chairman Daniel called the meeting to order. March 2025 Minutes Commissioner Simmons made a motion to approve the March 2025 Board Minutes, seconded by Commissioner Watkins. The motion was passed unanimously. Bills The bills to be ratified were as follows: Administrative & Other - $402,303.40 Road Department - $563,068.65 Sheriff office & Jail - $234,330.30 Courthouse - $50,397.09 EMA-S $6,753.91 E911 - $146,792.75 Landfill - $138,737.54 Commissioner Watkins made a motion to approve the expenditures, seconded by Commissioner Simmons. The motion was passed unanimously. Road Department Update Road Department Director Robert Holmes Jr. asked the commissioners Tuesday about a new van for the Prison Detail workers. Mr. Holmes provided 3 quotes for a new van. Commissioner Simmons made a motion to approve purchasing a van from J.C. Lewis Ford and selling the old van on GovDeals. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Appointments Hwy 15 Expansion at Gilead Lane = Andrew Aldridge Mr. Aldridge asked the commissioners to close Gilead Lane or not connect Gilead Lane to Hwy 15. Old Business New Business Budget Amendment #2 Commissioner Simmons made a motion to approve Budget Amendment #2. Chairman Daniel seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Award Garbage Hauling Contract Commissioner Jackson made a motion to approve Waste Management as the Garbage Hauling contractor. Chairman Daniel seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Contract Ratification Chairman Daniel made a motion to ratify the list of contracts. Commissioner Simmons seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
