Cily of LAFAYETTE * IND.* MINUTES OF THE LAFAYETTE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Council Chambers, City Hall January 27, 2025 7:00 pm Attendance Commission Members: John Burns, Julie Ginn, Kevin Klinker, Sean Lutes, Shawna McCully, Stephanie Rogers, Annie Schap, Alec Williams Absent: Ann Amato Staff in Attendance: Myles Holtsclaw, Community Development Manager; Dann Keiser, Historic Preservation Officer; Michelle Conwell, Administrative Coordinator Call to Order Noting a quorum, Sean Lutes called the meeting of the Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission to order at 7:00pm. Election of Officers Kevin Klinker made a motion to nominate and approve the following slate of officers for 2025: President: John Burns Vice President: Sean Lutes Secretary: Alec Williams Shawna McCully seconded and the motion passed unanimously. John Burns continued as President to lead the meeting. Sean Lutes proposed the current committee assignments remain the same: COA: John Burns, Sean Lutes, Alec Williams District: Shawna McCully, Stephanie Rogers, Julie Ginn PR & Education: Ann Amato, Kevin Klinker, Annie Schap Kevin Klinker made the motion. Alec Williams seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Approval of the Minutes Kevin Klinker moved to recommend approval of the November 18, 2024 (December 16, 2024 meeting cancelled) meeting minutes. Stephanie Rogers seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. New Business Public Relations and Education Committee: No report District Committee: No report COA Committee: 101 N. 4th St Sean Lutes and Myles Holtsclaw presented an application to repair and replace existing roof overhang and replace damaged metal with new metal to match. Replacement and repair are needed due to water leaking and wear and tear. Dann Keiser stated that as long as the new metal matches the existing clear anodized aluminum and maintains the art deco detailing, he has no problems with the application. Kevin Klinker made a motion to recommend approval of the application, Shawna McCully seconded. The motion passed. 333 Columbia St. Myles Holtsclaw presented this modification to a COA that was approved at the November 18, 2024 meeting. The original COA requested a stamped concrete. Due to a lack of depth available to pour and stamp the concrete, the applicant has requested a change to exterior tile over the original tile. Dann Keiser added that the new proposed tile is similar to the original tile. The original tile will not be removed, just covered by the new tile sO no historic fabric will be lost and will meet standards. Kevin Klinker made a motion to recommend approval of the application, Alec Williams seconded. The motion passed. N. gth St Adjacent to Greenbush Cemetery Myles Holtsclaw presented an application on behalf of the City of Lafayette to install four new decorative streetlights funded through CDBG along N. gth adjacent to Greenbush Cemetery to match existing decorative streetlights along N.gth St south of this location. Dann Keiser stated that the lights will match in scale, character, proportion and color matches what is currently present. Kevin Klinker made a motion to recommend approval of the application, Shawna McCully seconded. The motion passed. Staff Report: Public Comment: No comment Adjournment There being no further business to bring before the Commission, Kevin Klinker moved to adjourn the meeting. Shawna McCully seconded the motion.
